Evening Nikki - not long to go then :cheer2:

I thought I'd stop by with some food pictures for you all! ;)

We just had our tasting session for the wedding and wow.... Yum yum yum!

Starters:

Grilled Northumbrian Cheese with Apricot Relish and Pistachio Oil-

foodtasting006.jpg

This is the starter we went with... Absolutely YUM. The cheese was delicious, the chutney cut through it beautifully and stopped it being over rich. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Smoked Chicken and Pancetta Salad-

foodtasting007.jpg

This was also really yummy, but we felt it was more for summer than for winter. It was very delicious, lots of nice textures and flavours, but the Cheese just beat it!

Main Courses-

Vension with Braised Red Cabbage and Green Peppercorn Sauce-

Whilst this was a nice dish, it just wasn't quite 'the one' that we wanted to eat at our wedding. We felt the flavours were a little too loud in some areas. It was nearly there, but not quite.

Pheasant with Sloe Gin Jus and Fondant Potato-

foodtasting012.jpg

This was a virtually perfect main meal. Very rich, but the portion was the perfect size. The Sloe Gin Jus was very tasty indeed...! A clear winner here!

Desserts-

Hazelnut Meringue with Fresh Berries and Chantilly Cream-

I liked this, but Robert didn't. Basically, I decided it was out because he didn't like it. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I wanted him to enjoy his wedding meal too.

Ginger Creme Brulee with Hazelnut Shortbread-

Simply, AMAZING. Very nice and satisfying.... A lovely finish to the meal too, especially as it wasn't overly sweet.

We're also serving coffee and wedding cake afterwards... ;) So our finished menu will be:

Starter:

Grilled Northumbrian Cheese with Apricot Relish and Pistachio Oil

~*~

Main Courses:

Pan Roasted Pheasant with Sloe Gin Jus and Fondant Potato

Grilled Field Mushrooms with Blue Cheese (V)

~*~

Ginger Creme Brulee with Hazelnut Shortbread

~*~

Tea or Coffee
Wedding Cake

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Fantastic news Nikki!

All that food looks absolutely gorgeous. :lovestruc

It is girls night in here. Husband is in Rome to watch his beloved footy team. I had to take him to Heathrow at stupid o'clock this morning. I could hardly complain though - all the times he has taken us there or St Pancras. ;)

:headache: That was along way to travel to see your team lose and have 2 men sent off.

Evening all,

An early night for me I think, am exhausted! Had to go to the hospital for glucose tolerance tests today - 3 hours and seven vial of blood later I was allowed to go, but owwwww.......my arms hurt now (took them 11 attempts to get all the blood needed).

On the plus side, I have been cheered up by Neil buying me a tinkerbell cross-stitch, shame I can't move my arms enough to actually start it tonight!!

Anyone doing anything nice this weekend??

Lottie has dancing tomorrow and then is off to my parents for the weekend while Neil moves the stuff out of the study and transforms it into a nursery. I will be directing from the bed/sofa being as I am still getting a lot of abdo pains and been told to rest again!

evening all

Good afternoon everyone:goodvibes I have bought my hopper passes for our day trip:thumbsup2 of in 10 days time & I can't wait:woohoo:

Not sure how I will be feeling though as I have to have my blood test for work the day before:scared1: Never had one before & from what I have heard the company that does all the medical stuff for the ambulance service aren't great at it:headache:

Evening all. :goodvibes

Quick question for you all.... Do the breakfast cards that you get given for each day have how many people are eating on them?

I have never taken any notice before i only remember it showing the time.

A friend of mine is going and she is worried about what would happen if they didn't all make it to breakfast at the same time, her youngest Daughter is an early riser and will want breakfast early but the others are older and will not want to eat that early.
