I thought I'd stop by with some food pictures for you all!
We just had our tasting session for the wedding and wow.... Yum yum yum!
Starters:
Grilled Northumbrian Cheese with Apricot Relish and Pistachio Oil-
This is the starter we went with... Absolutely YUM. The cheese was delicious, the chutney cut through it beautifully and stopped it being over rich. It was absolutely gorgeous.
Smoked Chicken and Pancetta Salad-
This was also really yummy, but we felt it was more for summer than for winter. It was very delicious, lots of nice textures and flavours, but the Cheese just beat it!
Main Courses-
Vension with Braised Red Cabbage and Green Peppercorn Sauce-
Whilst this was a nice dish, it just wasn't quite 'the one' that we wanted to eat at our wedding. We felt the flavours were a little too loud in some areas. It was nearly there, but not quite.
Pheasant with Sloe Gin Jus and Fondant Potato-
This was a virtually perfect main meal. Very rich, but the portion was the perfect size. The Sloe Gin Jus was very tasty indeed...! A clear winner here!
Desserts-
Hazelnut Meringue with Fresh Berries and Chantilly Cream-
I liked this, but Robert didn't. Basically, I decided it was out because he didn't like it. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I wanted him to enjoy his wedding meal too.
Ginger Creme Brulee with Hazelnut Shortbread-
Simply, AMAZING. Very nice and satisfying.... A lovely finish to the meal too, especially as it wasn't overly sweet.
We're also serving coffee and wedding cake afterwards...

So our finished menu will be:
