We live near KD and get season passes every year. There are quite a few rides for little ones. There are a lot of ride around in circle types, which my kids were fine with: boats go in circles, cars in circles, etc. There are bumper cars for kids and little jeeps that they 'drive" but really go around a wide track. A small rollercoaster (you can ride with). There is a large "construction company" with tunnels and slides and ball pits(-this always made me nervous as I couldn't always see my kids and some others were pretty aggressive), the shows are cute, there is a splash, water fun area area right at the edge of the kids section -- great for little ones and you don't have to make the hike to the water park. My kids are older and we still have to walk through the cave.

The scooby "shoot the ghosts ride" (like buzz as pp said) is a fun family ride. There is a standard carousel. There are several rides the whole family can enjoy.
it's a fun place. it is hot in the summer and there isn't a lot of shade or air conditioned places (gift shops and a few restaurants).
There are scheduled meet and greets so chances are you could time a meeting with Dora. They also sell a lot of cute merchandise for fairly reasonable prices with the characters that you can't find elsewhere.
Unsure of your timing, but at the fourth of July they do fireworks for three consecutive nights. it is a nice show.
I don't like that there are so many carnival games and the kids who run them are on microphones asking people to play --it gets obnoxious. JMHO.
Although you didn't ask, KD is much cleaner than it was in the past. It was purchased by Cedar Fair Parks and they have cleaned it up a lot. (It still isn't Disney clean, but it is much improved).
They also have formed partnerships with some food franchises: Starbucks, Cinnabon, chick-fil-a and subway (subway has been in place for a while).
I do think it is worth a visit
