And don't even get me started about those Jay Leno rumors.

Simon is leaving American Idol (which he doesnt own 100%) and bring X Factor (which he does own) to the US next season.

The first person he's signed to be a judge on X Factor is....you guessed it.....Paula Abdul.

I had heard the Abdul "thing" was just speculation....has it been confirmed?

I think it'd be intriguing to have 2/3 of the original Idol judges on X-Factor.

I wonder if Piers Morgan will take his spot on Idol.

Well, considering Simon and Paula are two of my favorite reasons to watch Idol, I'll definitely be interested to see this new show.

I think this confirms that Disney was late to the punch to bring American Idol to Disney's Hollywood Studios. After Simon leaves at the end of this year the ratings for American Idol are going to drop significantly. And in turn so will the American Idol Experience at Disney World. I don't expect American Idol to be on the air for more than two or three years at the most.

I really stopped watching Idol last year. Only watched the final 6. Was planning the same for this year. It's just toooooooooooooo drawn out. The first couple years were fun, but it got old to go through all that.

it will not involve anyone from the current trilogy......going back to high school......great idea...........never quite bought toby maguire in the role...........james franco would have been better then not now.........way to old now.........need a 6 foot tall square jawed 19 year old with great comic timing........good luck with that

Piers was filling in for Kathy Lee on the Today show last week, and said he was not going to take Simon's place. I think he would be a great replacement though. American Idol needs someone like Simon or Piers to balance out the show. I can't wait to see who replaces Simon.
