Osborne Lights-Dates Posted

That is disappointing. I guess as first timers there will be a lot of things to distract us, but I was looking forward to seeing our girls faces - as they love Christmas lights.

I read the castle at Magic Kingdom will have Christmas lights, is this correct? And we do have tickets to MVMCP.

Bummer!! We are going the same time we did last year and were hoping to see them again. Oh well, I guess that will change my touring plans. Still, I will be at WDW and not at home. Got to focus on the positive.

UGH! Well, I guess I should have expected it. This has been my first time planning a trip and it has been such a disappointment. Too many things have gone wrong to make it fun. Sure, we will have fun when we get there, but this planning has been nothing but stressful. Glad I won't be doing it again any time soon.

i'm so sorry for all of those that were planning on seeing the osborne lights before 11/28. what a bummer! this also affects the people that were planning trips in early december too. i have a feeling that if the people that were going before 11/28 can change their vacation dates to after 11/28 in order to see the lights, they will. that makes for a more crowded WDW for us early december vacationers. the only holiday crowds it won't affect are those going the week of christmas/new year's because it's always mega-crowded then anyway.

i intend to send disney an e-mail expressing my disappointment over this. i hope those of you who are disappointed over this will do the same. the only way they will change them is if they hear enough people complaining about it (and they may not even change it then....who knows?) even though our dates are 12/3 - 12/8 and we will be able to see the lights, i know how frustrating it is for those who already made plans before 11/28, not to mention how it will probably affect the crowds while we're there. i don't get it.

Even though Disney has, at last, POSTED some dates regarding
the Osborne Family Lights...

There is STILL much CONFUSION.

Take a look at the current postings from Disney-

If you click on the direct info link from Disney regarding the Osborne Family Lights at DHS-

This is what you'll see-

2006?

So, its up to you to pick a date and just BELIEVE.

i just noticed that if you click on the link to "holidays around the world" at epcot, the dates for all the holiday stuff there start on 11/28, too. last year the CP started on 11/23, i believe. i'm hoping maybe they're waiting to see what kind of bookings they have as far as hotels before they decide to start them earlier?

Epcot's events always start on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, so they are not always on the same date every year.

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: No, No, No...... I can't believe this one of the reason we were going in Nov. was to see the Lights. I am so upset. The kids and I just sat there last year for 2 hrs watching and listening to the Lights it was sooo cool. Why did they do this:confused3

CP started on 11/23 last year because that was the day after Thanksgiving; so starting on 11/28 THIS year would be consistent with the day after Thanksgiving start.

Robo - I'm going to hold out hope!

(how do you do all that fancy cutting and pasting? Looks great!:thumbsup2 )

Fingers crossed that Disney gets this sorted for everyone who has booked their trips before the Osbourne Lights start date.I really hope they fix their mistake and it turns out that they start earlier than the 28th November.

I just called Disney by phone about 5 min ago,and they told me it is Nov 28,and I checked the calender on Disney site for that day Nov 28 and there it was Osbourne Lights,,This is horrib:confused3 le news for I was going with my Family Nov 16 -21.If you look up Nov 13 there is no osbourne light show listed

You never know.

Robo ,I hope YOU are RIGHT but if you go to the actual calender, and open the date Nov13 it does not say anything about Osbourne Lights but when you click on Nov 28 There it is Osbourne lights show

I'm upset now. I was hoping it would be earlier. 1st trip ever and planned it to see these. I checked out all the other years and thought we'd be safe with 12th-24th how wrong can you be.

i'm pretty sure that second set of dates is incorrect. since it says they started 11/13/06 and I just came back from there and didn't see any lights.

Yup.

Okay, not to sound stupid or negative.

The Osborne lights did start on 11/13/2006. Could they somehow have pulled old information into it?

In 2007 it started 11/12 - both years on Mondays, and both the same day MVMCP started. This year that date (if they were doing the same) would have been 11/10th.
