I spent Mother's Day walking around Boston
" Please come to Boston" ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, wan't that Dave Mason that sang that? And didn't he just die a couple days ago?
\\
Yes, I know, that can happen, especially after spending an evening with Norm and Sam and Cliffy, at the Bar maid famous from the tve show.
Hold it, ] No She wasn['t famoust from it,,, I WAS, well ok,, I thought I was, for at least an agonozing minute or two.
My whole, entire body shook, I stargted to sweat, and then the blast came!
I very quickly then came to remember just why I don't like ordering my pizza with Pepperoni any more.
So, where was I?
Oh, shott.
You man I just typed all this and it's not even going to fall into the " Uner a chapter" headline?
Ach Mein Gott. Yes, this is what happens when you get better and mor familiar ith the trip report writing . You start to think you are gettin better at doing it,, and you wish to keep improving on it, but a pig is still part of the Porkine family, no atter how you try to fancy him up.
. My DH and DD had Red Sox tickets, so I went along for the ride. We visited the marathon bombing site, which was strange- there's no big shrine or anything that screams, "This is where it happened!" I located the finish line bomb site by looking down at the sidewalk - there's one big area of concrete that's patched with black asphalt. Other than a few decorated trees along the route, there's not a lot to see. I said to my DD, "It's like the city is closing back in on it." Which later I felt was exactly right - why give the terrorists a permanent monument?
Also saw some adorable 3 year old girls dressed as ducklings near the Swan Boats (OMG- so cute! There was some kind of Mother's Day parade) where they have the Make Way for Duckling statues, and checked out the new Earl of Sandwich restaurant on the Boston Common that they put in a building that used to be a public restroom. Yep. I was so excited - it's one of my favorite Disney eateries but alas, the menu is quite limited and my two favorites were missing (mediterranean tuna and BLT) so I tried the caprese. Of course it was good, but I had been really looking forward to the tuna. Oh, well. I'll be at Downtown Disney in a couple of weeks.
