Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

Whew, Nebo, so glad you got a good location. Trinidad South would have been the pits.

Ok Ponzi, have at it!!!

I did! I did!

I am on my way to a filming for Kitchen Nightmares. I am a Gordon Ramsay fan AND a reality TV fan (yes I admit it) AND in the restaurant biz so I am really excited about this!! Not as excited as I am to read a new installment to this TR, wether by Nebo or Ponzi, but I am excited!!!

That's really cool!

I haven't seen all the Kitchen Nightmares but I've seen a fair amount. I have seen every Hell's Kitchen episode. When we were in Whistler BC a couple of years ago, we did look into (but not eat at... $$$$$$$) the Araxi restaurant. And Ruby just got back from Vegas and saw (same result... $$$$$) Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris.

"Diane, would you like to go out and compete in a sporting contest with somebody who, not only doesn't take a turn buying when the beer cart comes along, or buy a round at the "19th Hole", but who also lies about how many strokes he takes, moves the ball to a better spot, takes way too long for every shot and just basically is a cheater?"

"Well, no." she responded kind of shocked to hear this.

"Well, neither does he!"

:lmao: I was reading along, all unsuspecting and thinking, "What a jerk! What a loser!"

Turns out I was right!

kidding! kidding!

Has your head ever got up and walked out on you?

Nope. I keep the bolts pretty tight. I have to replace one though because it's getting rusty.
Luckily, it hasn't affected me yet.

Allright, the subject is Poe. Now, I know that you can be as obscure as I, but I don't think we are on the same page here, looks to me like you are doing Kung Foo Fighting, I can not only NOT find a Poe connection, it most certainly isn't the one I'm looking for. But this bad movie DID have some great actors in it, with some really great movie quote lines.

Here's one, a HUGE hint:
"Allright, nobody move, or the bunny get's it!"

Okay, I'm pretty sure I know the movie where the quote's from.... but I don't remember a Poe character in it.

Kung Fu Fighting was a reference to Kung Fu Panda... who's name is Po.

Hmm, kind of like Ruby and Smidgy!
Except Smidgy isn't listening anymore.

Smidgy actually listened to you at one time?

Lucky.

She just asked me if I made up my mind whether to tell everybody about the concussion I got hitting my head outside of Rose and Crown on the last trip.

I hope you're joking.

Hey Sam- Y- Gram!
(that's margymas backwards, and yes, I am proud of it )

I like Sam - Y - Gram. Nice one.

sorry, haven't slept well lately, and I'm getting weird like Ponzi when he does't get enough sleep.

See? I toldja.

Well, I read your post too late to think of you at the time but I'm thinking about you now and I really want to say again - :cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay: CONGRATULATIONS :yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2: I know how hard it is to go back to school as a grown up person with responsibilities such as work and family so HOORAY for you! Are you going to post a picture of you in your regalia? Tell you what - I will if you will.... though I don't graduate until next Saturday so mine will have to wait till then.

Nebo, thank you for responding to my post. Janet and I
are starting to feel better and Cathy is adjusting to
life with a giant cast on her arm.

BTW, we went to the 8:15 Candlelight Processional. We
prefer the 8:15 show since the concert lets out just
before Illuminations starts. That way we get to see
the fireworks without having to wait around for them.

What the heck? How did I get so far out of the loop and not know that this TR started. Bad Janet:guilty:

Check me out!

You can see me walking in at 9:50-9:58 and again when they announce me at 1:34:10.

I'm looking at all these people give a nice look into the photographer's camera from the stage and I felt as if I had to look down at him. So much for being tall.

I had a blast! Thanks for your kind words! Pictures to follow.

As for reading, I've just re-read three Larry Niven books. Why? 'Cause he's great, of course.

Very non-sequiter as I am way behind again, but I did finally get through Lucifer's Hammer just around the time Satan's Hammer was finishing up. It was a fun read, especially since the next book on the pile was one about Huntington Disease. Hot fudge Sundae on a Tuesdae indeed! I also just finished off Kinsey's irreverant "The Dark Side of Disney"; who knew you could do that kind of stuff at WDW?

Major, super congrats, Monica! :woohoo:

Congrats, congrats! Thanks for posting the link - it was fun to see you walk across that stage!

Diane calls us a cab (okay, we're a cab) and we check out of the Roayl Pacific.

Oh Pulease, you aren't goint to say the door was ajar too, are you?

Our cab is waiting and the world's chaattiest driver is at the wheel,,,

This guy was convinced that he had to play tour guide,,,,

without knowing what he was guiding about,

"So, you folkd going to Disney World?"
"Yes, that's why we told you to take us there."
"They've got lots of rides at Disney World."
"Yes, we've heard that too."
"You gonna see that new Harry Potter ride?"
"That's at Universal,."
"No, I'm pretty sure it's at Disney."
"Okay, it's at Disney,,, any idea wich park?"
"Yeah it's at Disney World."
"Right, got it."

Now that sounds pretty darn accurate to what we encountered.

Our 12 year old exchange student types for a while and looks up with a big smile and says," I have an available Pirate room."

Aarrrgh,,,,

no,,,,,

The pirate rooms are all in Trniidad South,,, so instead of setting your watch forward an hour, you have to set it back by an hour instead,,,,,,,,

"Keep looking, matey,,,"

She looked a little taken aback at my affront, like she'd been struck amidship,,,,

Very well done, sounds like you've also done your homework on the resort layouts.

Yiou are starting to scare me now.

Sooo... thank you for noticing, I try not to be gassy in front of my friends.

I'm always thinking, you know that.

Well tell Kathy I hope she's a quick healer, it was a pleasure meeting you all albeit briefly, and boy do I wish i was back there and doing it all over again!

What the heck? How did I get so far out of the loop and not know that this TR started. Bad Janet:guilty:

Once again, the prodigal daughter comes straggling in the door.

Your wish is my command, gentlemen (and I use the term loosely).

I wish that I could remember what the "wish" was.

Yeah, yeah, I found you, you look great. But you still had a better smile on in the picture from Animal Kingdom, that is a classic, post it, glow in the dark smile, nobody can touch!

Hey Melvin, never heard of that book, any good?

It looks like you had a blast! That smile is a mile wide. :) Congrats again! :goodvibes

Oh, I clicked on you too, I guess.

Um,

Glad you're back safe & sound Nebo and Smidgy! Unscathed, uninfected, and unconcussed I hope!
