Oprah's 12wk Boot camp??

Hi thotfulspot!! I'm glad you've joined us over here. I'm with you on SB, but starting Mon. I'll be cutting out the whole grains for one month. So far, this boot camp is working out pretty well. Today is my day off from exercising, but tomorrow I'll be doing a "2-a-day." It makes me feel so good when I exercise. Did I just say that? :rotfl2:

Well, today was my official Boot Camp starting day! I decided to start by just climbing up and down the stairs in my house for 20 or 30 minutes. My DH asked if I would be walking or running up and down and I said vaguely 'Oh, I dunno, I'll see when I get started.' So, I started by zooming up the steps, and discovered that it's really, really hard work after the first couple of flights.

So, I panted my way up and down stairs for 20 minutes, and followed it up with some lifting of weights.

A question: what constitutes a workout? Twenty minutes, 30 minutes? Less time if it's more intensive, more if it's easier? How much weight work would count as a complete workout?

I'm so psyched about this!! I can't wait for the results after the first week!

1 43 minute treddie done! 1 more to go!!!! :cool1: I have surpassed my 1000 minute goal!!! 1137 minutes with 2 workouts to go! :flower:

getting ready to exercise! i hate doing it this late in the day (8:00pm), but I had to take my DD's to birthday parties, get groceries, etc. I almost didn't have enough time to eat my dinner before my 7:30 cut off time! (i think it was 7:32 when I finished - don't tell Oprah - haha). I can't wait to weigh myself tomorrow!! :bitelip:

Did my second workout on the treddie! 40 more minutes!!! :cool1: These double sessions aren't too bad! You do really sweat though! :cool1:

:cool1: Monday morning weigh in! Week 1: 7.5 pounds lost!!!! I am very excited about these results...I just need to lose 1 - 1 1/2 pounds per week to reach goal w/ Oprah's Boot Camp. Wouldn't it be nice to have results like that every week? FAT chance ;)

I am embarrased how terrible I ending up doing this week. My DH worked a 48 hours shift this week and it totally knocked me off the wagon. As of today, I am right back on. I know it was working and I could have had a great loss this week--as a compulsive scale watcher, I know I was down to 180.5 at one point this week, but I am back up to 183.5.

Next week I WILL be reporting back with better results!

Spoisal--Great job!! You lost 1/3 of your goal the first week!

Hi everyone,

I only lost 1/2lb this week. I am trying not to be too disappointed. I did exercise 60min more this week than last, so I am proud of myself for that. There were a couple of times that I didn't make great food choices, but overall I did pretty well this week. How is everyone else doing? :sunny:

Hey everyone! I lost 1.5 lbs this week! I also lost 1.5 inches off of my abs last week!!!!! :cool1: I'm lovin' this boot camp!!

Congrats everyone on your losses. :cheer2:

Did my monday weigh in and lost 5lbs this week! :goodvibes Much better than last week when I only lost 1lb. That makes for 6 total.

Exercising still going well. I bought a pedometor to measure how much I walk each morning and this is great. I like it because each day I challenge myself to go a little further!

Tried spaggetti squash as suggested and that was pretty good. I would definatly make it again. This week im going to try the zuccini lasagna(was going to last week but got side tracked).

Rootin for you all! and hope things are going well! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi everyone,

As I predicted, the scale is not cooperating again. I didn't lose anymore weight the second week and hope this third week is a lot better for me. I know the extra work outs and upping my weights makes a difference on the scale for me.

On a happier note, my size 12's are getting baggy on me so I know the inches are flying off. Over the next few days I'm going to measure again so I can figure out how many inches exactly I've lost.

Congrats to everyone that is doing so well! This is a great challenge and I know at it's conclusion, we will all be happy with our results.

The scale is not my friend this week... I gained 1/2 lb but my clothes are looser and I feel better. I know I did everything perfect last week so I am not going to get to upset about the 1/2 lb.

Hoping for better luck next week :goodvibes

The scale is not my friend either, but again, my clothes are fitting better! I can see a difference in my clothes evenif the scale is a BRAT! :confused3

Yesterday, I worked out to a 1-hour DVD I have, and I know I did it right, because every single muscle from my ribcage to my knees aches today. My plan for today is to double-up on stair-climbing: 20 intensive minutes, a break to catch my breath and drink water, and then another 20 minutes. Between the workouts and dropping grains, I can already tell a difference, but I'll wait until next Monday to make it official.

On to attack the stairs!

:sunny:

I with the rest of you! My scale is NOT moving down, but the inches are coming off.

Lisa, my size 12's are getting loose also!! I can't wait to fit into a size 10. :cool1:

Hi fellow bootcampers...
Haven't posted or been on the boards in a few days. I am happy to report I am down 5 lbs! So far..so good. Not quite doing 100% on the excercise but close which is good for me. As far as the eating....following it to a "T".

I see lots of you are doing great!!

Keep up the good work !!!! :goodvibes

Good job, panfan! Congratulations on those lost 5 pounds!! :sunny:
