Oprah ending talk show in 2011

I am guessing that by 2011 she will literally have all the money in the world so why should she continue to work?

Oh amen, sister. I can't stand Oprah OR Dr. Phil.. all he does is talk down to people and make them look stupid to the audience. That doesn't seem like he's really trying to help.

But the shows where he and Robin give out their favorite things to the audience for the entire hour help and that has SO much to do with counseling.

I used to like him when he was on Oprah and I would accidentally catch him there. Then when he got his own show, he was OK, sometimes interesting. But then he just got too over the top, then including Robyn in a counseling capacity (what are HER credentials? Being married to him for 30 years?) and then the son comes along and does his part and pretty soon the whole family is a "family practice" of psychologists-with not a license among them?!

Yep - as soon as he started to really plug his wife and his son (and their books), it became obvious that the fame had gone to his head.. With each passing show he became more and more arrogant - and quite frankly, some of the advice he gives out is crap.. (Oops! Can I say that? )

I totaly agree with your opinon of Dr. Phil, I stoped taping his show middle of last season, it had become total garbage.

But I've only started watching O starting about, oh 5 years ago or so and while I don't watch every show she does (if I don't like the topic shown in the intro I just delete it from the DVR that day), the ones I do watch I tend to enjoy. What is it about O that you don't care for, if you don't mind me asking?

Well, as for being one sided...it's her show and she can do what she wants with it. She's not a journalist (well, not now at least, she did get her start in local tv news) and she doesn't claim to be a news program. But, you don't like her views or positions, so that's cool.

I also find some of her topics boring (usualy the celebrity interviews and shows about fashion) but some are also quite interesting. If one of her shows doesn't appeal to me, I just delete it and don't watch. I usually delete one show a week, I guess.

As to too full of herself, I don't see that. She can be a bit aloof to people, but I think that's a product of mega fame. When you're in the tabloids once a week and mobs of people follow everywhere, when you can walk down a public street without body guards...I think that just changes how you interact with people.

But thanks for answering. I've encountered a few people that say the don't like her but can never tell me why they don't! It's okay not to like her (or anyone) but it bugs me when people can't give you a reason.

I actually find this as GOOD news!!!! I'm really sick of her. She's so full of herself.
