Merely my opinion
Sci Fi - I say lunch
Cap'n Jacks -yummy yes - service is hit or miss
Liberty Tree - dinner - one of our favorites
Raglan Road - I don't know if I would use kid friendly (it is enough) better like the smell of fish :)

I would say Sci Fi for lunch ... burgers & shakes are good! We had planned lunch there this past trip but had to cancel because DS wasn't feeling well.

We've never been to Capt Jacks.

We like Liberty Tree for both lunch & dinner. So disappointed that they are taking away the character dinner. I would go with dinner since next year it will no longer be with the characters.

We really enjoy Raglan Road. Have eaten there for both lunch & dinner. Not sure how old your kids are but DS loved it at 9. There is music at night and a step dancer.

This is our 10th Wedding Anniversary..
DS - 8yrs & DD almost 6 at time of the trip
This will be their 1st trip ever... DH and I honeymooned at Disney, but had NO idea about all this (we were uneducated!!)
Only my 3rd trip in my life time and DH's 2nd....

SO with that being added..
We want to have fun, and eat well also.. and make the most of this trip!!!!!

Day 1: Need a fun yummy place for Dinner
Day 2: Breakfast @ Chef Mickeys
Day 3: Dinner 50's Diner
Day 4: B- Cinderella Royal Table Dinner - The Plaza
Day 5: Dinner Coral Reef
Day 6: Planet Hollywood
Day 7: Backyard BBQ
Day 8: Yachtsmans Steakhouse (this is our anniversary dinner) - we are possibly renewing our vows on Clearwater Beach at Sunset!!!!
Day 9 & 10 - nothing planned... need help..

I think we are going with the DxDP so I'd like to plan out late lunches or dinners.. possibly even an additional breakfast...
Kids are young and we are going to be there 10 days on hoppers so I'm not overly worried about sit down time... (unless I should be)

Day 1 - If you are going to the parks that day I would pick a place to eat in whatever park you are going to. MK- Dinner at Crystal Palace is a family fav..:thumbsup2

If you are not going to a park then I would eat at a hotel or downtown disney. Which would also depend on whether or not you have a car. Without a car I'd only eat at my own hotel on arrival day - just due to the length of time it would take to get from one hotel to another by bus.

Just too many options to recommend without more info: where are you staying, car or no car, which park or no park?:confused3

Thanks I will take alllll the help I can get...
Day 1 - We are undecided about a Park. Don't matter..
We are staying at the All Star Movie resort, we will have a car...
The days that we already have booked for dinners have all the parks covered, so we are open to hopping around to the other parks to have fun and eat..

We just want to make the most of it... Our flight lands at 11:15 so we really have most all day to enjoy that Friday...

I would say to try 'Ohana on your first night. That is what we did this trip and it was a great way to start our vacation. Food is good and there is a woman that teaches the kids to hula and coconut races. Fun for the kids.

We had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare this trip. The Mad Hatter was hysterical! Even my DS12 had fun with him. Alice, Mary Poppins, Pooh and Tigger were also there. It's buffet and I thought the food was good. Pretty standard Disney breakfast buffet fare.

Definitely try to add Sci Fi for lunch! So fun eating in the cars & watching the cheesey movie clips!

When my kids were younger they wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom as soon as possible. Since your flight lands at 11:15 you may even be able to get the MK in time for the 3pm parade. What a fun way to start a WDW vacation. So I would suggest Crystal Palace for dinner or O'hana's (take the monorail over, try to ride up front).

Also, my family loves Sci-Fi! The kids love to sit in the cars to eat. We try to eat there every trip.

Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch is fantastic.

Raglan Road is fantastic.

We have always loved Sci Fi, haven't been in a while though.

I can only comment on Raglan Road as I haven't been to the others. We loved it! DS (10) and I are rather picky eaters and we both can't wait to go back!

My DD at age 12.5 loved Raglan Road (so did the adults). The table next to us had kids that appeared to be similar in age to your children appeared to be having a fun time.

Prefer LTT for Lunch

no experience wth Capt'n Jacks.

Sci-Fi was a disaster dinner in 2001 and we have not been back - but reviews seem to have gotten a lot better recently so we may try it next time (don't know when that is)

Sci Fi definately lunch good burgers but shakes not so good

Captn Jacks good lobster tails service so/so

Liberty tree dinner for the characters food OK

Raglan Road my BF loved this place and said it was good food and kid friendly

Sci - Fi - just OK would go for lunch
Capt. Jacks - OK. suggestion:I would go to Wolfgang Pucks any day over CJ
LTT - definitely dinner, especially before the characters are canned :sad2:
Raglan Road - Must do! Entertainment begins at 9pm

Other recommendations:

Wolfgang Pucks
Ohana Character breakfast - yum!
Crystal Palace Breakfast - Early morning yummy!
Hoop-dee-doo would be a fun place for dinner, especially if you are on DDxP

Here's my worthless opinion on the lot:

Liberty Tree Tavern - Lunch ☺☺☺☺
The best lunch at Magic Kingdom. We love to have a relaxing lunch here midday. There is a full menu complete with crab cakes and sinful desserts. I’ll put the food quality up against any non-signature resort restaurant on property. The service is very good at lunch, more like a bistro than a theme park "in-and-out" joint.

Liberty Tree Tavern - Character Dinner (for now) ☺☺☺☻
Served family style, this is a relaxing way to meet the characters. They come around while you eat and you won't miss them because you're up fighting buffet lines. However, the characters will only be appearing through the end of the year so starting in January, it's just a family style restaurant. The food is good, basically Thanksgiving fare. There are plenty of choices for everyone. The service isn't as good at dinner; it's like they just don't try as hard when you don't "order". Side note: If someone in the family is not interested in dining there, (say if mom and dad are going to California Grill later), you can opt out of the food for $5 per non-diner.

Sci-Fi Dine-In ☺
Average, boring, and overpriced food served in an interesting and fun atmosphere. It’s ok to come around midday for a light lunch, take in the surroundings, have a milkshake (which they do well) and watch a few clips of The 50’ Woman and Creature from the Black Lagoon. I highly recommend against making this a dinner spot. There are so many much better restaurants at Disney.

Raglan Road ☺☺☻
Three things come to mind when I think about Raglan Road: loud, inconsistent, and loud. Always, I find the live music to be entirely too loud. I don’t mean “jym’s getting old” loud, I mean Metallica is like “dude, lets go someplace else”. In my three trips to Raglan Road, I’ve found entirely different problems with the food and service. First let me say, the food and service can be excellent. However for me, food temperatures, portion size, accuracy, timeliness, incorrect bills, misquoted prices, it’s been one thing after another. Sure, there’s plenty of Guinness, a pretty dancer, and some of the food is quite good. The problem is, you never know which Raglan Road you’re going to get… the good one or the one in need of a week with Gordon Ramsay. It's very possible to have a great meal at RR, but it's just as possible that you'll waste a precious Disney meal slot. As for kids, the child menu is pretty eclectic and better than the standard kid's fare. They can certainly be as loud as they want because you can't hear them over the entertainment anyway.

Cap’n Jack’s ☺☺☺
The food that they offer here is really good and the portion size is acceptable. They also offer lobster on the Dining Plan so that’s a plus. With both Manhattan and New England clam chowders, along with top shelf crab cakes, the appetizers are worthy of any seaside bistro. My main gripe is the severely limited entrée selection. Six, count ‘em six entrées are available for selection, not exactly an anthology of the sea. The kid’s menu is nothing special but a last check, they got three courses for under eight dollars.

Sci -fi defenitly lunch
Liberty tree Dinner

When are you going? I heard there getting rid of the characters at LTT in January. Lunch is way better then the dinner at Sci-Fi.
