Nab, that would be one of the things I should be doing but am not (much to DH's relief, I am sure).
First time he got a new car, back in Germany (a brand new Beetle), I had just gotten my license at 18. We were at a party at one of the other soldier's home. I asked for the key to get something from the car, and while there decided to take it for a spin. Unfortunately, I misjudged the distance to the other car (one of those big huge American battle cars of the 60's), and totally dented in the entire side of DH's brand new one day old car! There was not a scratch on the other car!
It is a miracle I survided! That was probably the hardest thing I ever had to tell hubby. But he was very sweet about it. I ended up fixing a lot of it myself at my family's car place.
I let him drive mine only on trips now or occasionally, like Friday, when he had to take his truck in for its annual rust-proofing check.
