Oogie Boogie on sale date June 26 early for MK June 24-25

Last year Anastasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine were roaming in Fantasyland late afternoons. It wasn't a stationary meet and greet, but they were present. You had to walk with them though. That was a fun mob. lol
Haha! I remember that! We were lucky enough to catch them in the Fantasy Faire area last year, we just happened to look over and see them walking towards the area with a big mob because the app said they were going to be meeting at the Matterhorn. They are the best!

We always dress up as Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, Perla, etc and wish we could get a good photo with them in our costumes!

You’re jumping to a lot of conclusions. Historically, few Halloween events sold out at Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom (MK offered a season pass for awhile). There were many years in which we went on a whim.

In 3019, we bought out OBB tickets in mid-September for a mid-October date. Several posters in this thread said they did the same for 2022. The fabled 2023 event likely sold out in hours due to scalpers, not demand. FOMO played a role a year later.

You’re “sorry” Disney added events but of the 5 events added since the fabled 2023 sell out, only two are available. My bet is that those two events are close to sell outs and wouldn’t be surprised if both do sell out before the event. Yes, Disney has to pay for the actors… but tickets are $155 each. I don’t think Disney is sorry at all. No doubt they’ve been increasing event capacity in recent years. They’re certainly not losing money.

Demand is clearly slower than last year but the same is true at WDW. Three events remain available for sale the next two weeks. We went to WDW on a whim a year ago this past Friday and MNSSHP was completely sold out through Labor Day. Thankfully my brother-in-law was able to get DVC Member Services to open up a few extra tickets.

The parks were crazy busy this weekend. Let’s not attribute this to back to school, because kids go back to school every year and it hasn’t been like this. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see a record fall in the parks. And I expect Halloween season will begin the same time next year, if not a few days sooner (extra OBB event).
I wonder if those people who bought mid September in 2022 purchased via third party? All dates were sold out by July 3rd, 2022 on Disneyland's official website which was within 6 days of tickets going on sale to Magic Keyholders. I think it may have been within 2-3 days of tickets going on sale to general public.

I think it's just shocking to some, because since COVID (so since 2022) the events have sold out within days of tickets going on sale. That was different this year, which is something we haven't seen since 2019 which was when OBB switched over to DCA because of SWL.

I didn’t go in 21 or 22, and they may have gotten the dates mixed up. Looking online, 21 was the first year it sold out entirely and it did so by late Aug. 22 sold out in a week, 23 in a day and 24 in just over a week.

Disney clamped down on resales beginning in 22, so it’s probable scalpers drove the interest.

I went back out of curiosity to see when tickets completely sold out in the past. It looks like 2014 was the first year for Mickey's Halloween Party to sell out, or just the first year to have easily accessible info about it.

So if tickets don't sell out by next Monday for 8/28, that will beat out 2016 as the longest before all dates sold out.

I have to be in Anaheim next week for work and since there are still two dates available i just picked up a ticket for a solo trip! I’m going with my family and friends in October but all they want to do is the treat trails so I’m excited to be able to go by myself and just enjoy the ambience, parade and not running from treat trails to treat trail! (While also fun I’m looking forward to a more relaxed trip!)

I never would have done this if I had to buy when tickets went on sale originally so whatever happened to still have dates available worked well for me!

Tickets start at 77 Bucks...express is an add on so you can't compared them

I'm talking about the investment into the event HHN every year gets new houses and they fill these houses with actors

This event has 9ish treat trails with Villains and two....two get switched out every year and then they show in some "rare" characters

Glad you like Red Guardian he is amazing...but could just be in the land since he's not themed to Halloween.

Also sorry you've had bad experience but I went HHN like 9 times last year and not one drunk person bothered me and I've never had that issue at HHN not saying it doesn't happen but 99/100 people are not going to be affected by drunk people

But once again I want them to invest into this event have shows that rotate and chance WOC does not need to be 30 mins make a 15 or under min show thats fun, change the parade up use Philharemagic building with Tickets costing 140-190ish Disney can afford to put more money into the event is what I am saying

Okay, then if you pick the cheapest HHN base ticket for HHN for your comparison that is 77 bucks to 139. That's where the Bash tickets start. Comparing the cheapest HHN ticket to one of the higher priced Bash tickets is comparing apples to oranges.

If you only want "themed to Halloween" that currently about leaves Hans, Queen of Hearts, Scarlet Witch, at a stretch Cheshire, the Sandersons and if you count them as characters dressed up Kingdom Hearts I guess. Plus the villains in the treat trails. Okay, the Cars too maybe. But Campus would be empty minus Agatha, Scarlet Witch and probably Loki. They simply don't have villains to put out there. Developing a new character costs a lot of money. How many recognizeable villains could they create? I saw a post on here saying it was ridiculous Red Guardian had to explain who he was. For the villains? Thanos of course, Dr. Doom and maybe Hela due to the movies. Galactus I guess. I don't think we will see Kang again for the foreseeable future. Then I am beginning to scramble with villains most guests would recognize.

At this point I am thinking the Zombie Cap outfit is rendered unusable or something else happened. Werewolf was on a roof which would hinder the guest flow, and the other character you mentioned wasn't even created to my knowledge. Considering how little attention Elsa Bloodstone got I am not even sure if they will touch that material again. Poor lady almost jumped when I approached her and called her by name. Taskmaster maybe, but that show costume probably won't work for meet and greets.

I don't think it's the worst idea to fill gaps with characters that are maybe not Halloween-y, especially on Campus. Then at least something is there and the crowds spread. I'm sure you have seen pics of the lines for the Syndrome trail. When a new character meets people simply freak out too much. And before someone says something yes, I am guilty of that too.

They could do more, absolutely agree. But since the event became the Bash at least there's some kind of effort. The Halloween Party in Disneyland was the same for years, without a single change. My friends jokingly asked "why are you still going?" because of that. I don't think raising ticket prices even more is the way to go though, there's too much noise "too expensive" now already.

Happy to hear you had only good experiences at HHN. I have friends that even have those frequent fear passes or however they are called, and I would never judge anyone for going, liking it and not even getting drunk. If it had been absolutely horrible I would not return this year. Two of the drunk incidents started yelling at me when he ran into me when he was chasing his equally drunk friend and I didn't move out of the way fast enough and the last one I think I can't discuss due to board rules, let's just say I am a very obvious tourist. Despite that all I am saying is: different target audience. I can have fun there and they can, and same for Bash. Would those people I had problems with have fun at Bash? Likely not, but other HHN attendees will. Same thing the other way round.

I've seen a video that says Facilier was out and about. New look too. I am trying to figure out where that location is - the only obvious place is the old doom trail and the background doesn't look like it. The Lady in the video has a VIP pin, so maybe this is a meet for the VIP tour?

Good research. The quick sell outs in 2022 and 2023 were stimulated by scalpers. 2023 was the year Disney made websites like eBay, StubHub, etc. pull OBB. It was also when they began invalidating tickets that were resold. 2024 sales were pushed by FOMP.

So, I’m not sure we can declare that 2025 interest vastly slowed down.

That would be great, I love Dr. Facilier!
