Oogie Boogie on sale date June 26 early for MK June 24-25

Last year Anastasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine were roaming in Fantasyland late afternoons. It wasn't a stationary meet and greet, but they were present. You had to walk with them though. That was a fun mob. lol
Haha! I remember that! We were lucky enough to catch them in the Fantasy Faire area last year, we just happened to look over and see them walking towards the area with a big mob because the app said they were going to be meeting at the Matterhorn. They are the best!

We always dress up as Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, Perla, etc and wish we could get a good photo with them in our costumes!

You’re jumping to a lot of conclusions. Historically, few Halloween events sold out at Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom (MK offered a season pass for awhile). There were many years in which we went on a whim.

In 3019, we bought out OBB tickets in mid-September for a mid-October date. Several posters in this thread said they did the same for 2022. The fabled 2023 event likely sold out in hours due to scalpers, not demand. FOMO played a role a year later.

You’re “sorry” Disney added events but of the 5 events added since the fabled 2023 sell out, only two are available. My bet is that those two events are close to sell outs and wouldn’t be surprised if both do sell out before the event. Yes, Disney has to pay for the actors… but tickets are $155 each. I don’t think Disney is sorry at all. No doubt they’ve been increasing event capacity in recent years. They’re certainly not losing money.

Demand is clearly slower than last year but the same is true at WDW. Three events remain available for sale the next two weeks. We went to WDW on a whim a year ago this past Friday and MNSSHP was completely sold out through Labor Day. Thankfully my brother-in-law was able to get DVC Member Services to open up a few extra tickets.

The parks were crazy busy this weekend. Let’s not attribute this to back to school, because kids go back to school every year and it hasn’t been like this. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see a record fall in the parks. And I expect Halloween season will begin the same time next year, if not a few days sooner (extra OBB event).
I wonder if those people who bought mid September in 2022 purchased via third party? All dates were sold out by July 3rd, 2022 on Disneyland's official website which was within 6 days of tickets going on sale to Magic Keyholders. I think it may have been within 2-3 days of tickets going on sale to general public.

I think it's just shocking to some, because since COVID (so since 2022) the events have sold out within days of tickets going on sale. That was different this year, which is something we haven't seen since 2019 which was when OBB switched over to DCA because of SWL.

I didn’t go in 21 or 22, and they may have gotten the dates mixed up. Looking online, 21 was the first year it sold out entirely and it did so by late Aug. 22 sold out in a week, 23 in a day and 24 in just over a week.

Disney clamped down on resales beginning in 22, so it’s probable scalpers drove the interest.

I went back out of curiosity to see when tickets completely sold out in the past. It looks like 2014 was the first year for Mickey's Halloween Party to sell out, or just the first year to have easily accessible info about it.

So if tickets don't sell out by next Monday for 8/28, that will beat out 2016 as the longest before all dates sold out.
