Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party 2024

Not sure what you're asking...but I don't recall it being too long to get into the park but that was a few years ago.
Oh my goodness
Weird autocorrect.

Just that I get the line to get into the park would be bad but how bad was my question. We won't be in the park until we can get in for the event so I was curious.

A little delayed, but the thread exploded after I secured my tickets and I needed time to catch up! I appreciate all the help leading up to 6/27 and can't wait to hear reports after the first few nights!

If you plan on entering the park at 3pm, there will be a large line and there's no telling how efficiently Disney will get through it. Last year the lines waiting to get in at 3pm went more than halfway through the esplanade. Also, DCA from 3pm to 6pm is very very busy. Unless you absolutely need to maximize your time in the park those 3 hours, I would just arrive a little later to avoid it.

Is there Handicapped viewing for the parade? Will be on an EVC.

I'm curious too! I have an 8-year-old in a wheelchair, and I'd love to be able to get her a place where I know she can actually see the characters in the parade.

^^^^Good question.

Also, I had a few more since we've only visited DL in June.

1) Can you use the Pixar entrance? If staying at DLH?
2) How's the weather, end of October? Chilly?
3) The Wicked Trail, Parada and Treat Stations are the best? Character-wise, is Oogie Boogie the best?'
4) Anyone know if a new character will be introduced this year?

TIA.

Yes, there are characters but you can’t really interact with them. They will talk etc as you go through the line.

I had some good interactions even in the treat trails. Some of the stages have an area cleared now where you can try to snap a quick pic or in Ernesto's case listen to him singing.

Going by last year:

Yokai is a definite no for interactions, he just stands there and looks menacing.

Judge Doom does the routine, then walks around or sits looking menacing. Interaction also not possible due to the set up.

Ernesto De La Cruz also mainly did his act and sang, but for him at least they had cleared up an area where you could stand and listen to him singing. That was an insane problem the year before, the stage area was so congested.

Oogie Boogie: If the line is slow enough (so basically through the parades and that is it) he may notice if you try to take a selfie and pose really quick, but that was it.

Sid: He picks people to heckle. You may or may not get a good interaction out of it, his line was always crowded.

Mother Gothel: Her stage is very close to the actual trail, so there is a decent chance at interaction, especially if you have children in the group. I saw her spending several minutes talking to a Rapunzel group last year.

Cruella: that line can get ridiculously long. I got lucky there and managed to hit it when the line was dead. She noticed my camera with the large zoom lens. I took my chance and yelled "Miss DeVil, are you ready for your photoshoot?"She really put on a show for me, walking around doing poses. Even came to the edge of the stage for a selfie.

Agatha: she will come down from that pedestal once in a while. Lot of the interaction then is clearly scripted too, but she will come down to the rope, talk to people and occasionally take photos.

And my personal winner: Madam Mim. I had really good interactions with her in 2022 already. Again no one really stopped when we visited, so we started some banter. She asked me if I wanted to be her BFF in the end and of course I agreed. :D Then 1.5 weeks later I came back for another party with other friends, and when I said "Hi Mim!" she actually remembered me by name and told me she had been worried her BFF left for Germany without saying good bye. As my friend put it: "I could tell the exact second she had you turning into a puddle."

So last year I had decided I was going to dress up as Mim. It wasn't even a big dress up, I can't sew for the life of me. So Mim wig and a Mim themed t-shirt it was. I was among the first in line for her treat trail. One of the CMs opening the doors spotted me, chuckled and said: "Oh she is going to love you!!!" And boy was he right. She screeched, came running across the stage and called out for me as soon as I came in her line of sight. I had a Paris pin of her with me because the year before she had been lamenting there never was any merchandise of her. So she gushed about my outfit, I got to give her the pin and she really made a show out of that, and then she asked me if I wanted to take a portrait with her. Oh yes PLEASE!!! I turned my back to her to try for a selfie and she yelled "no no no a proper portrait!!!" and then yelled for a CM to take our picture. It was totally insane and well worth every second of getting plastic hair stuck on my face and in my mouth. :D

This is what it's about for some. Love seeing it happen. Great share

They’ll all sell out, probably soon. Last year was the first them they ever immediately sold out - even post-Covid, you could still buy OBB tickets in August. They also added dates this year, so even if they increased sales, it’s not crazy that some dates still have availability.

I’m glad they didn’t immediately sell out; hopefully that calms the event feeding frenzy a bit.
Previous years were always noticeably different in the crowd levels. Last year wasn't terrible, but it was certainly busier than the years they didn't instantly sell out. This is still great news (unless Disney double the ticket number or something) and still paints the picture that demand is wildly down compared to last year. That opens the doors to promos for hotels and everything else, which they have had in years past.

Unless you absolutely need to maximize your time in the park those 3 hours, I would just arrive a little later to avoid it.

Last year I got to DCA about 1:40ish the day of my OBB and people were already in line for OBB entrance. Which means they were standing there for at least an hour and a half before they even started scanning tickets. So that's definitely something for new attendees to keep in mind if they don't have a day ticket or a magic key. There will be a wait if you arrive just before or at 3 pm.

(I had a key so I just scanned in and got my wristband inside and I'm SO glad for that option.)

If we're not too concerned about getting as full of a day as possible in DCA. Would you suggest getting to the park at 4pm? (That's if the ticket allows us in at 3pm). Is that enough time to let the crowd go through the line? Or do we miss out on something important by not being in line super early?

From 3-6pm (the mix-in period) the park is really crowded with regular park guests and party guests. After 6pm it starts to drop off. Last year we ate dinner in DTD at Naples and then entered DCA at 5:30pm (no line).

This year I’m going to try to book a table service reservation in DCA for around 4:45pm.
We might enter DCA before 3pm (with our Magic Key). If I had to use my party ticket for entry I would probably arrive at the gate between 3:30 and 4pm to avoid standing in a long line before hand. This time of year can be really hot too, and last thing we want to do is stand in the hot sun for a few hours melting just to try to enter the park right at 3pm. 🥵

If I have a park ticket for the day of my party can I enter using the park ticket and get a bracelet inside?
