Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party 2024

If I have a park ticket for the day of my party can I enter using the park ticket and get a bracelet inside?
Yes, but they don't start setting up/handing out bracelets until 3 pm. The CM's for party check-in will be stationed near one of the entrances (as I recall, they were set up at the main entrance to DCA and the entrance from the GC - not sure about Pixar Place entrance). It is a separate, small queue right after you enter the park. They will scan your OBB ticket and then they will give you your wristband, treat bag, and event map.

The last few years there has been a separate in-park checkin area for guests already in the park. It was between Avengers Campus and CarsLand entrances.

From what we saw, if you don’t enter the park through the party gates, you can’t get party materials from the CMs by the entrance—it’s roped off.

You are correct. It's not right past the entrance gate like meeshy said, it is between Avengers and Cars. (Same area where MK holders can hang out and eat during Food and Wine.)

Also, last year they started at 2:30 in that area for guests that were already in the park. HIGH recommend doing this for anyone who has a magic key or a regular park ticket for the day of their Bash.

Sorry for any confusion, I've only ever entered the parks during mix-in, and in that case, there were CM's right past the park entrances who handed me my OBB stuff (wristband, treat bag, etc.). The first year, we entered through the main DCA gate, last year, we entered via the GCH gate. The lines to check in near the gate entrances were long but as I recall they moved quickly. Sounds like the check-in near Avengers/Cars is a great option for those already in the parks!

24 dates sold out.
3 dates available: Sept. 3, Sept 10 and Oct. 29 (All Tuesdays)

I'm totally green with Disneyland, been to WDW numerous times. I just found out I have a work conference in Palm Springs in Oct. and figured why not make it a long weekend and head to DL. Of course the Oogie Boogie Bash is sold out when I'd be there. Do they ever release tickets at a later time? So much to research. I'd still love to go but I'd also love to see the OBB.

In some years, they have had tickets the morning of at the onsite hotels. They did not do this at all last year (likely due to the whole ticketing debacle that occurred), so I would not necessarily bet on it for this year either. Nor would I bet on them releasing more tickets between now and then.

That said, Halloween season at Disneyland still has PLENTY to offer even if you can't get in to OBB. So you won't be without plenty of spooky season fun!

Oh boy! I’ll have to start convincing my family to do more than matching t-shirts. We went all out at MNSSHP back in the day.

Now that we all got our tickets, time to ask the important question… what about costumes?? I’ve only been to MNSSHP. Do people go all out for costumes at OBB?
We've been to MNSSHP 3x. First time we did the T-shirt costume thing and were in awe of how elaborate a lot of people got so the next time we stepped it up and made some Haunted Mansion character costumes. The last time we went, a couple of years ago, our adult DS went with us and we each picked a different villain. We went in Sept. and I was Cruella and although I was absolutely MELTING I loved my costume. DH was Captain Hook and he was also melting in that heavy coat & long wig. DS picked Bowler Hat Guy from Meet the Robinsons and although his cape was wool he was probably in the lightest costume of all of us. LOL :rotfl2: DH wants to re-use our Haunted Mansion costumes for our Oogie Boogie night so I gotta pick my battles. I have sadly outgrown the skirt portion of my costume so am having to replace that. Last time I made the skirt by making a stencil & I hand painted all those tedious flowers but this time I may cop-out and just buy a cosplay skirt rather than make it. Is that considered cheating??? Believe it or not, painting that skirt was a LOT of work. :rolleyes1 My neighbor sews and she helped me make the rest of the costume with the shoulder cape & corset top & pink puffy sleeves. I can still re-use all of that. I also hot glued lace around the parasol. That only fits in our big duffle tho so I guess I know which bag I'm packing. :rotfl2:

Not considered cheating at all. I’m sure most of my costume will come from Etsy whatever I end up deciding upon. Last year for MNSSHP we went as the Three Caballeros. The guys want to do that again because it was t-shirts. But, I want to step it up a notch.

I kinda wanted to come up with a new idea but financially it makes sense to just re-use something we did in like 2017 or whatever it was. There was just something fun about the homemade skirt with the flowers being a little imperfect but I can buy a cosplay skirt for the same price and save myself like 20 hours of work! LOL

That sounds very intricate! I’m crafty but, not above supporting Etsy sellers. Have gotten some cool disney park sort of tshirts

We used to do full blown pirate costumes, mickey/minnie costumes etc. for MNSSHP. lost its allure as just too humid in Orlando. I feel bad for the little kids who look as tho they are melting.

Last time we were in DL in early October several years ago, they had a heat wave that nearly rivaled Orlando’s weather. Hoping for more moderate temps late August this year :rolleyes1

The year our date was cancelled by hurricane, I had ordered a tablecloth from amazon and made an easy paper bag skirt, no pattern needed. It finally saw light of day at last year’s party.

Did buy a poufy black crinoline & had an intricate black lace blouse. Neither made the cut as just too hot that night. Never mind the shoes in the pic, realized the black ballet ones i packed didn’t have enough support to get me through the night.

Repurposed ears & a tshirt the mr wore in the past rounded it all out. That said, looking forward to seeing some west coast style at the parties this year!

I love the haunted mansion theme!

I ordered matching skeleton shirts for DH and DS (8) from Etsy yesterday. We’re doing a skeleton dance theme. There are some pretty cute skeleton dance ears.

I want to go all out, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself. We do a really big home display and are reworking it this year, so focusing on that.

And this is our first bash. Just dipping toes in!

Based on the last 5 years, I don’t think they have ever released more tickets for OBB at a later time. In the past (but not last year), there have been very, very limited day-of tickets at the onsite resort hotels for their guests. We had to do this in 2022 because we had to make a last minute change from WDW to DL, so we didn’t have OBB tickets. We stayed at the DLH, and I asked about the same-day option at check in (they did not volunteer the information). They said all 3 resorts share a small number of tickets, and I had to be down at the front desk with my room key at 5am the day of the OBB. I was there around 445am and they verified my room key, and I was a few families back in the line. Right at 5am, they started calling each family up to purchase tickets, in order. We got tickets but not all families did. I think there were about 15-20 families at the DLH that morning, some didn’t get tickets.

Sadly, who knows if they will bring that option back this year. Last year, they didn’t do it at all. Even in years that they did it, they WILL NOT tell you it’s an option if you call DL or the resort. So you have to go knowing you may not get tickets, even if you stay onsite. But I really hope they bring back the option for onsite guests.

I love all these costumes! Every year we’ve been it’s been hot so this year will just be Halloween shirts for us.

We did Wreck It Ralph one year and I was dying in that hoodie and the leggings. No thank you!

Disney World AP here who is doing the Halloween Run Disney 10k so decided to stay for Oogie Boogie and got tickets for the Tuesday party after our race. We are so excited as oogie is probably my favorite villian, I dressed up like him for the Wine and Dine 10k this past fall at Disney World.

I am looking for more information on the dessert party for the parade, is it worth doing and does it typically sell out. The information page online just takes you right back to the event page.

Also how is the merch situation, is it as crazy as Mickeys Not So Scary is? Just want some type of oogie branded merch whether it be a t shirt or a jacket.

Unless you want the seats and desserts the package isn’t really necessary to view the parade.

I feel like they’ve really toned down on the merch offerings for the party. That being said I’ve never had an issue getting what I’ve wanted. I like to get an OBB pin every year so I’m not 100% sure if shirts are harder to get. I honestly haven’t liked and of designs from the past few years!
