Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party 2024

Thank you for all this! The food is high on our list too (me, DS 19 and DD 20). The Ghost Pepper nachos sounds delicious!

I’ll plan to watch the second parade. Do you happen to know what time this will take place? We likely won’t arrive until 7pm or so that evening as we are coming from Universal Studios.

I’ll make the treat trail and Villains Grove a top priority too. Excited to see the overlays as well. This will be my first time in the parks when there are holiday overlays.
Based on what I saved in my notes app, last year the first parade was scheduled for 7:50 p.m. and the second at 10:05 p.m. I can't remember if it was the same two years ago.

Omg. This OBB trip is escalating quickly. Was supposed to be a cheap quick trip down and now I’m looking at a terrace pool Pixar Place club room. 🤣

Side note: I’m a fairly quiet member, but today after 17 years I’m finally a Dis Veteran! Insert dancing bananas and lime green mickeys!

SAME!!! We went from going down for just the party, to now me buying an extra night (Friday) at the hotel and DL Park tickets for Saturday, since we are there anyway,

Now that all our blood pressures and heart rates have returned to normal with our tickets securely in our hands, I would love to hear everyone’s favourite event, ride, experience at OBB. This will be my first time and I have no idea what to expect!

I would love to see the parade and have a great spot to view it from. Suggestions for this? Are there any special packages to be purchased for it? Or are crowd levels low enough that seeing the parade doesn’t require a 2-hour campout ahead of time?
If you really want to see the Headless Horseman (and he is pretty cool) you might want to do what OP did and at least see him go by in the first parade. If the horse is skittish he doesn't always come out, so last year when we were there we did the 2nd parade and we didn't get to see him (and we were told he was there for the first parade). We were able to find a reasonable place to stand shortly before the parade where our littles could be in front - people crowded in a little, but we were able to hold our position (and let some other littles in front, too). 2 years ago, we did a dessert, I think, seating - great seats, but yes, it took a lot of time (I missed getting my MK gift) and wasn't necessary and the deserts were sickly sweet imho, and I love sweets. Though it was fun when one of the Ugly Stepsisters flirted with DH cuz we were front and center. If the longer (where you loop back toward the character) treat trails are not crowded we've had some fun (tho short) character interactions and if the trail was really not crowded, we were even able to pause and prolong it a moment or two. If there was clump of people and a space, we would hang back so we could get the character to ourselves. That has been my favorite part. A lot depends on the CM, too. Some are truly awesome. They do change off during the night, so you never know. (Last year people were saying one was great, but when we got there it was a different guy and he barely did/said anything.)

Have a wonderful time.

We are planning for a hotel the night of since we're gonna be TIRED. I'd love to stay onsite but now we need two rooms and it's crazy expensive (not that it wasn't expensive before LOL).

Congrats!

My plan is to drive down on Saturday and go into Disneyland until Check in at our hotel, take a nap and go back for Fireworks and seeing the park at night like the Halloween Tree

Day 2 go to DCA until like Noon go rest/Nap until 3-4 and get back into the park until OOB closes

We were planning on flying in on the morning of the party...but we didn't want to risk it..so we are flying out Wednesday Night, then will have full days at the parks on Friday and Saturday and then fly out onSunday

Is there Handicapped viewing for the parade? Will be on an EVC.

Also does OBB do allergen free treats like MNSSHP?

Thanks

Gonna be a long day for the wife and me. Flying in from Atlanta the same day and staying at a hotel in Irvine (work trip) and then making our way to the park as early as we can, staying as long as we can, then heading back to Irvine for my work thing the next day.

I'm tired for you.

Okay to get in, what time do people start lining up authentic gate? We have never been and are SO excited.... and we are going night one.

Well you can get in as early as 3pm, so I'm sure people are there before 3pm waiting to get in.

We're staying a week at Marriott's Newport Coast. Probably going to do Disneyland_ one day then a different we'll go to OBB. I know traffic can be a nightmare in SoCal. Google Maps indicates that it is a 30 minute drive, but is it really? How much time should we plan to get from our resort to Disneyland?

The key to Villains Grove is to go either DURING one of the parades, RIGHT AFTER one of the parades (like, you have to consciously make sure you are viewing the parade from an area where you can easily get to Villians Grove once the parade is over) or at the end of the night (as close to the end of the party as possible). Those are the times when you will find less people going through, which significantly enhances the experience. Otherwise, you are funneled through with crowds of people, taking away from the atmospheric feel. NOTE: this didn't seem to apply as much last year because it seemed crowded in Villians Grove all night (at least when I was at the party) - I'm convinced they oversold tickets last year due to the ticketing fiascos. I'm hopeful crowd levels are back to pre-2023 levels.
We went first time last year. It was packed. I was a little disappointed. I was expecting to walk on rides, but nope. I didn't think it was worth the extra cost, so I wasn't even planning to go this year. At the last minute the wife decided to go.

SIX Tuesdays still available!!! (Including my night in October)

This is incredible!! I'm really hoping that means demand has just completely cratered, I would LOVE my night to be like 2019 when most stuff was walk on (think I did Mission Break out maybe 5 or 6 times in a 45 minute period, lol)

Also I booked as deep into October as possible without being there OVER Halloween... so would love to see a 25% or 30% Disneyland resort discount! Crossing my fingers...

They’ll all sell out, probably soon. Last year was the first them they ever immediately sold out - even post-Covid, you could still buy OBB tickets in August. They also added dates this year, so even if they increased sales, it’s not crazy that some dates still have availability.

I’m glad they didn’t immediately sell out; hopefully that calms the event feeding frenzy a bit.

Good to see that and in line with the reopened mk passes that lasted several.months .

The wild outlier is d23 fan event which really surprised me this time around
