online check in- can't do it??

today is our 10 day window to do online check in, but it says they can't complete my request and to call. We check in the 28th at BWV- boardwalk view- for 2 nights, then move to a standard view on the 30th at BWV. We have the same reservation # for both. I called MS and they said I probably have to wait until Friday, due to the different views. Is this correct??
 
I can't answer your specific question but I wouldn't fret. Online check-in is a bit over-rated.
 
I spoke to member services today about that same issue. We leave Friday for Vero Beach and have two reservations but both have the same number. They used to use different reservation numbers thus you could check in whichever one or one at a time. Now that they have the same reservation number, the system can't do it with a multiple. According to Member services, no way around it at this time. Wish I had better news....:sad1:
 
Yes, I was on the phone with MS yesterday, and asked about online check-in for our upcoming trip. She said that because we have 2 linked reservations, the online check-in likely wouldn't work. She said it's definitely an issue that they're working on, but for now, my chances of it working were very slim. I tried tonight, and sure enough, it allowed me to enter all info right up to the last, and then said it couldn't not complete the request.

that's exactly what we were told also. I wonder why it even shows that we can?:confused3 Oh well- we've done it twice before and never really noticed a difference when we checked in.
 
I too think online check in is overrated. I have never seen a difference in time it takes or the results, so if I couldn't do it, I'd just wait until I got there.
 
We just got back from a trip last week. We had 2 rooms under the same reservation. One for us and one for my in-laws. We too were unable to do the online check in. We had each put a CC on each of our rooms for charging. Upon check out, everything was charged to my room only. How annoying. The plus side to this was my in-laws felt so bad that they just paid for everything. Including a $300 dinner at California Grill..
 
In Dec I had segmented RSVP and couldn't do online check in.. worked out fine when we go there. Going tommorrow and cannot do online check in again .. (also segmented) I bet that is why.
 
I think you can only check in if you have 1 reservation for 1 room only in the system.
Even if you have 1 reservation number for 1 room but the reservation is segmented (meaning you can see on the member site as being separate) you won't be able to do online check in.

We had 1 reservation # for 1 room (same view and everything) but since we had to use some holding points for part of the reservation we ended up with 2 segments. And we couldn't do online check in.
