You put in your first choice and if it isnt available it tells you what is... In this case it showed 1 bed rooms 2 bedrooms all being unavailable...

If you have selected a week's stay it will show you what days are available... You are given the option to waitlist the entire stay...

Ok, I'm going to give it a try for a July trip. Does anyone know if the system will allow you to select banked points, or will it automatically use/extinguish your bank points first, prior to using current year points, when making a reservation?

it's a new system...you tell us...

(and i'd recommend taking screen shots of your transaction just in case the system isn't really ready for prime-time yet.)

Two questions:

Does it indicate when the 11 month (and 7 month) windows open up? ie, is it at 9am Eastern time just like MS?

Does it indicate how you select which points to use. (I have to make a reservation next month that will require points from 3 different resorts.)

(I don't have access to it yet.)

I haven't gotten to the screens where you actually book (and assign which points to use), but I really like the way the search screens work. rotfl2: I'd have liked them a lot better if there weren't big red X's through the rooms I wanted for the dates I searched.)

I like the fact that it shows alternatives to your request if it isn't available. However, some of the logic here needs to be refined. It showed me a room at SSR as an alternative for a week at HHI that wasn't available.

Did anyone else note the message that banking needs to be accomplished before entering the booking screen if any banked points will be required? That seems a little awkward. I'm assuming borrowing is done from within the reservation.

I didn't get a chance to get screen shots since I made the reservation (in a rush) on my iPad as I was heading out the door.

It was very simple and straightforward process. Wow, where has this been all of my membership life?

It only took a few minutes to make the reservation for a 1bd BLT in July. It even showed me other available units at BLT and at other DVC resorts during my trip (including the number of points needed).

To answer my own question, yes, the system automatically used my previous year's banked points, prior to using my current year's points. As for the question regarding taking points from multiple contracts, I can't answer that as I only have one contract. However, it did provide a tab that seemingly allows you to select from multiple contracts.

Finally, I was able to view my reservation on the DVC website immediately after completing the reservation, and I received a confirmation email about one hour later.

I was able to get in to the online booking. WOW! I was surprised it was easy to use and it worked.
