Hi, we are doing a cruise this summer and will need transportation from the airport to a hotel near the cruise terminal. Is there a specific rental agency that does not charge a one way fee? There are only two of us so this is still cheaper than a town car. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Easy answer is "it depends". In general the major car rental companies do not charge extra for "one way" rentals within FL. However, sometimes that's not the case, even for the same company. You just need to try the different companies and see what they are quoting you for the date you are going. :drive:

OP, we're doing the same thing. In my experience, National does not charge a "one-way" fee. However, I found out Dollar DOES charge $20 for "one way".

It doesn't matter what the specific one-way fee is, since some companies have rock-bottom rates with fees on top, while others tend to have all inclusive rates. Use kayak.com or another site that will search all the rental car companies. Or, use Costco.com, which, for members, will often get the best price.

We have never paid a one way fee and have rented from Alamo, Avis, Dollar, Budget.

We like Budget when taking a cruise. They are the closest rental car company to the ship. They have 3 shuttle vans on standby to take folks to the ship for free. They are right there to pick you up after the cruise.

Shelly from Ohio, can you please tell me the date of the last time you traveled? Dollar is charging a fee now. Is there a special code that I need to use to waive this fee? Thanks!

I found Dollar to be our cheapest but they charged a $50 fee. Then we looked on carrenter.com (i think) and there was no fee for our drop off at PC but after the cruise the same site had a $35 drop fee.

I ended up reserving with Budget.
