Well the addon is NOT happening. So next year's vacation, if it includes a cruise, will have to spell me through 2004 until 2005 as we will use ALL our 2002-2004 points.
Here are our options:
1) 4 night cruise, two cat. 10s, with 3 nights at BWV
2) 3 night cruise, one cat. 4, four nights VWL.

The park time is comparable, since on the 3 day you really can't use the parks Thursday (going to port) we'd have Sun-Wed. at the parks--if we do the four day, we'd do the parks following the cruise and have Thurs., Fri., Sat. and leave late Sun.
It is a really hard decision. I think if I had 16 more points and could spend the 3 days at VWL I'd do the 4 night cruise for sure. As it is, if we do that we won't see VWL again until 2005 :( . I know BWV isn't exactly purgatory ;) but we really enjoyed our 2 nights at our VWL "home".
I have to book THIS WEEK--I don't think I'll make it tomorrow, which is 11 months out, but I'd like to do it as soon as possible. I wish I had a "waffle" icon to illustrate my dilemma! I appreciate any and all input.

Robin, I have not been following your dilema closely, but from what I just read I would choose #2 hands down.
(disclaimer- I think VWL are awesome, and have never cruised)

How about renting the 16 points?

Good Luck!

I may try that--I only need 8 points I figured now. If I could do the 4 day and VWL I'd do it right this minute.

After spending 9 nights at the WL in Oct and only 4 nights onboard Norwegian Sea in Dec- DH, DS10 & I are cruisin on the Disney Magic 7day cruise this Nov. I thought 4 nights was wayyy too quick on a cruise. People ask us now if we are splitting our time and I say NO.
Next year we go "home" to the VWL!
However, since we just bought into DVC in Nov last year we combined last years points with this years and took a cat 10, deck 2 room. I could have borrowed just a few more points from next year to have a porthole (cat 9) but DH said we are already using 2 yrs points.

The cruise is an unbelieveable, relaxing vacation. 4 days will have you wishing you had booked seven. VWL are quiet and peaceful but after the cruise this summer we spent 3 nights at WL and I was disappointed. I had always wanted to stay at WL. So much so before the cruise my daughter said she thought I was more excited about WL than the cruise. My disappointment, I really think, was because the cruise is so relaxing and worryfree. I have another 7 day cruise booked in August 2003 with a stay at BCV prior to cruising. I don't want BCV to be a let down as it is now my home resort. Good luck in making a decision that is best for you.

Thanks for the input so far. We really have to stay at WDW after the cruise. Both of my daughters will have activities going (DD#1 in a "summer theatre" thing, DD#2 wants to try swim team) and 4th of July week is the best to go, since they will only miss 3 days of stuff (they are closed July 3 and 4). Plus DS will be in "safety town" in June but I don't know which weeks--I don't want him to miss any of it. DD#2 missed 4 days of the last week for our first trip in 2000.
Plus we would get back from our cruise on July 3--I'd like to see one of the parks July 4, although I don't think MK! I think we'd go to MGM and see sorcery in the sky.
I think I'm going to go ahead and book the 4 day and hope I can rent 8 points for VWL. I will be able to book the first two nights, and the last night will be July 5, so I'm hoping I have time to get the points and book.
