Pete raved about how great on-line resort check in is....just wondering how it works exactly and can it be used for a DVC points reservation? Can you make a room request through the on-line check in?
I've used it once..in May. We weren't DVC...stayed at ASMusic...but it was awesome. I did the on line check in..when we arrived at 9 in the morning, we didn't wait at all to get our package or Key to the World Card and our room was ready. I'm definatly going to do it again in December.
DVC offers online check-in. You just do it through the dvcmember.com site. We've done it the last 3 or 4 times and, each time, our room has actually been ready when we arrived (you tell them approximately when you'll arrive). It's great to just walk up and have them hand you the folder with everything already printed up - including your room keys.
I'll second Dodie's comments. Just wanted to add that you should put your requests on the reservation. The on-line check-in doesn't give you room for any specific requests.

I did put the request on the reservation...just wondering if there was somewhere else to note it with the on-line check-in. We are staying at OKW and I just cannot do those 3rd floor rooms in the no elevator buildings, so we always ask for a 1st or 2nd floor. Last time they still put us 3rd floor and I had to get it switched, would switching the room, if I had to, be more of a hassle if I used the on-line check in?
I don't recall anyplace on the on-line checkin to repeat your request for a 1st or 2nd floor unit. I'd ask as soon as I got there if your request for a lower floor was honored.

Thanks Jeff, we should get there about 11am, hopefully that'll be early enough.
Sorry to be a pain.....but do you think you get a better chance of having a request on the reservation honored if you use on-line check in? We check-in Saturday Nov. 13th and that is the last weekend of Food & Wine, so I was thinking it might be pretty full for the weekend.
I don't think using on-line check-in will hurt your chances. You've got a big advantage in arriving before noon in that if they didn't honor your request they will have a much easier time changing your room assignment.
