? on changing reservations and deposit due dates

If I book a package, I know I am required to pay a deposit 14 days from the time of reservation. If I change my reservation (I may slide it a day or two forward or back),is my deposit now due 14 days from the time of the change, or do they keep it 14 days from the original reservation?

Also, if I don't want to change anything.....just want to delay paying the deposit, can I rebook(if the package is still available) and then cancel the first reservation?

Interesting that you should ask about this-- learn from my mistake--I had booked room at Coronado Springs. Disney made mistake on my dates so I called back and corrected dates. I thought that would change my deposit due date to the 14th of this month. I called back to pay deposit and CRO says they have cancelled my ressie. Now, I am angry since there are no more moderates available with and AP rate. I am forced to pay more for Deluxe which I just didn't want to do.

No, changing dates does not change deposit due amount unless entire initial ressie is cancelled and then you rebook.

You can call them and ask them to extend your due date on your deposit. I did. I called the Thursday before it was due on Sat. and they extended it till the next Sat. Doesn't hurt to ask. It worked for me. Good luck!

As usual, there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule on this.
We made our original reservations with a public code then just a few days before the deposit was due we changed to a different discount. Our deposit due date was extended. The original reservation wasn't cancelled and we kept the same reservation number. Maybe changing codes is different than making date changes, but I didn't ask for an extension, they just did it.
