The two walmarts in my town told me about this weeks ago. I even posted it in this link to look out for them in the ads in november.

I got the "Funhouse" and the Slide (round and round) from Amazon yesterday, paid approx. $38 each, higher than the store price, but not outragous- don't know if they still have some left, anyone looking might want to try. I'm officially done with these dumb things, unbelievable!!

I love when these fads come out every year. The only people who truly make out on these are the manufacturers and the eBay resellers. The kids? They play with them for a week, then they get tossed into a corner. Some kids will get use out of them, but I bet a majority of parents would've been better off tossing their money right into the fire.

My DD hasn't asked about these at all, but I see a lot of threads on the internet about them. As a PP said, these type of things are the perfect opportunity to learn about "fads" and "marketing."

Are the items that are supposed to be at walmart (in their sales flyer on sunday) new items, or just the same hampsters/accessories that TRU, Target, and Walmart already sell?

My sister is getting zhu zhu pets stuff for my niece, but we've been able to find everything that's currently on the market except for the activity ball. She is still looking for the pink hampster (which I think isn't available yet) and the other accessories/clothes that we aren't sure are on the market yet.

Maybe we'll make a midnight trip to walmart this weekend, in hopes that something new is out.

Hmm, thinking I might make a trip to Walmart for the heck of it this weekend...

I work 2nd shift, get out usually around 11:45p, and pass by a Walmart on the way home... might be worth it to try.

So far we have all the accessories we've been looking for... have the funhouse, car/garage, wheel, & bed/blanket just by checking when we're in the area.. but still looking for any hamsters (not picky). Also, would buy the ball if I saw it, but wondering if a regular hamster ball would work with these as well? Anyone know?

I was at 2 different Targets today and was able to get 2 balls, 2 exercise wheels, 2 garages, 2 ramp/slides and 2 hamsters. I couldn't believe it. The hamsters were $7.99, the balls were $11.99 and everything else was $14.99. I'm giving all the extras to the neighbors who are on the hunt for this stuff. It's crazy!!!

As for using the real hamster ball, one of my neighbors tried it and it didn't work for her.

I found some hamsters.. there was a limit of 4 and I need 7 but it's a start! Question.. the little stitched in shape on their back.. I got 2 of the same color. One has a LARGE shape one has a SMALL shape... why the difference? Just a glitch?

They are the same things - its all done with item #s & UPC - so it won't help ya much... but the items listed are

From what I understand the stores aren't able to order items - its all being ordered for them in the quantities WM wants - there's is nothing they can do about it - at this time - maybe that will change later.

I was at my local walmart on Tuesday morning and they had a whole shelf of hamsters so I grabbed a couple and went to pay for it along with a car and garage. When I got to the checkout they told me they couldn't sell me them because they were being recalled, when I pushed and finally got a manager they told me that they weren't supposed to be put out until Sunday morning. This was quite a bummer, it was very frustrating.

I had preordered a 3-pack from Toys R Us on October 1. After reading this string, I was doubtful that they'd ever fill that order given all of the pre-orders that Toys R Us has cancelled. Got a notice this morning that they have shipped my order! Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed that they will actually ship the giant playset that I ordered on 10/28!

I would seriously be contacting corporate because if they are on the shelf they have to sell them to you unless they are legally recalled through CPSC. They can't say "Well we changed our minds and decided not to sell them today." That is so bogus. Sorry you had to deal with that but please follow up with a call or email to corporate to let them know what this store is doing.

I too think that once they put them on the shelf, they couldn't take them from you...that isn't right. They can put back stuff from the shelves, but not take them from you. I would also call the corporate office. Sometimes things are just crazy.

Hi everyone, I'm new. I just happened to be browsing the web and thought I would post some things on here for you about the Zhu zhu's because I too have done the walk of shame at 7am through 9am looking for the zhu zhu.

There is a really nice website called zoolert.com If you are diligent about it, they give you alerts when websites like target, tru, and walmart update their sites with more stock. HOWEVER it only lasts for a minute....at the most 4 minutes! So if you have fast hands and are quick you might snag one.

Also on Zhu zhu pets website Walmart did confirm that they are holding all stock for this sale on sunday 11/8. They were telling people they were recalled, then people were emailing zhu zu saying what's up? Zhu zhu confirmed that walmart is holding stock, and the items that did get put out this week were in error.
