OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Best Aunt - now you've got me nervous. When we stayed at HRH it was a quick walk to US. I thought that RPR was closes to IOA - how long of a walk are we talking? Longer than from BC to DHS, because we do that one all the time! Now I'm thinking of switching over to HRH if it's a big difference. Kids picked RPR.

The walk from HRH to US seemed a whole lot shorter than my walk from RPR.

I haven't done the walk from BC to DHS. I would say that the walk from RPR to IOA is probably shorter than the walk from BC to DHS.

BUT, if you think about walking from BC to DHS, you probably are thinking: BC exit to DHS entrance.

If you are staying at RPR to take advantange of the early entry to WWoHP, then you're really not talking about RPR exit to IOA entrance. You're talking about walking straight from RPR exit to WWoHP. And WWoHP is all the way in the back of IOA.

When I did it last year, I was headed straight to WWoHP for a private event. It was July and it was evening, not morning. It was my first trip to Orlando in the summertime, and it felt unbelievably hot.

I will never do that walk again without a water bottle in hand.

And I will never voluntarily stay anywhere but HRH if I'm planning a trip to go to the Universal theme parks. (This time I'm staying at PBH, but it's for a conference so I won't be in the theme parks unless I go to the private event at WWoHP again.)

Personally, I'm a Beach Club Girl. You can't beat the walk from BCV to Epcot. (Preferably in March.)

Hi all! I echo Ninja Mom's feelings that it's good to be back. Took about six month hiatus from most of the Disboards due to my father's illness-he lost his battle with ALS last Sunday and we are now working on recovery of the survivors. Planning a Disney trip in August but cheating on the BC with POFQ-needed two rooms since we are now a traveling party of 4 (wasn't going to make my DM room with DH's snoring...bad enough I have to do it!). I also spent the past couple of days going through the threads and catching up and it's good to hear all of you having a great time planning and bantering back and forth! Looking forward to catching up with everything here :)

I apologize for taking awhile to send along my condolences. You and your family are in my thoughts. I think that recovering in a place that is special to you all will help heal the pain of your loss.

:grouphug:

Thank you everyone who helped me with my questions while planning this trip. Most of the info I needed was already on the first page of the thread, so most of my questions were answered before I even had to ask them! Awesome thread!:thumbsup2

We are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning (shooting for 6am but I know that won't really happen). We're taking two nights driving down and will be checking in at the BC on Monday. Can't wait!:banana:

Wow, it sounds like there will be a lot of DISers around when we go! If anybody sees us, please say hi. I have blonde shoulder length hair, my DS15 is thin, quite a bit taller than me with dark blonde hair, and my DH is stocky with mostly gray hair. I will have a lime green baggalini with me most of the time (can't go to Disney without it!)

Susan, Rick, and Noah:)

Thanks NinjaMom - it's good to hear from someone who has been through it.

Luckily I have a base tan and will spend the four days before our trip tanning like crazy. I have three days over at the "Dark side" to tan up before I hit BC!

I have just discovered a more serious problem - Scottmel says they are doing away with the oreo bon bons in the cl lounge. I don't know how
I'm going to break the news to dd. I think she daydreams about those things!

Take it easy on the tanning for a few days after you stop taking the antibiotic. I know what you're probably on (I'm a pharmacist), and it will take around 4 to 5 days for it to completely be out of your system, so you may still be sensitive to the sun. I would use a high SPF and go out in small increments....you don't want to look like a lobster at BC! :) Oh, and make sure you wear a hat all the time.....a lot of people forget about their scalps! Nothing is worse than a sunburned scalp!

I have been checking the kids like crazy for ticks....they're supposed to be really bad this year since we had such a mild winter.

Cindy

So sorry to hear about your loss.

My Grandfather has ALS, he has had it since I can remember and I am now 26, luckily in the early stages of the disease he was put on a trial program that seemed to slow/stop the progression of the disease. He is wheel chair bound and unable to speak properly but other than that healthy.

Again so sorry for your loss, ALS is a hard thing to go through.

Hoping your next Disney trip is a fabulous one!

What it means for me is that every day I will be trying on line just to see when it opens up for real, and when I strike wild mushroom risotto and filet gold I will let everyone know!

This is my exact meal every year at Le Cellier!!:rotfl: When they went to a being a signature restaurant I panicked thinking I wouldn't get it again (we usually do the DDP) but thankfully it is on the lunch menu.:thumbsup2 And we always save this meal for our last day in the World.

To all who are arriving soon.....have a great time!!

I'll look for you. I'm a white 40ish guy with very short brown hair, a Latina wife, a big for his age 11 year old boy and an adorable 7 year old girl.

There's an outside chance I'll be wearing a shirt that says Disneyland and one of us could have a Blue Chicago Cub hat on or shirt. Come say hi to the Dad(that's me)

So many of us there at once. It will be fun if we run into each other. My avatar is a pic of my husband and kids from a few years ago at Disney, but the pic is tiny and the kids have changed a lot. I am short (5'3"), pale and have shoulder length reddish hair. DH (6'), stocky and has short dark brown hair and goatee. DS nearly 14 (5'6") thin, brown hair. DDs twins (average build) 7 with long, sandy brown hair and multicolor hair-wraps (they are not identical, but look similar).

Hope to run into some of you while we are there!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to stop by and say "Hi".

Last year we stayed at the Beach Club for the very first time and had the most magical vacation. pixiedust:

We have been trying to decide when to return and have talked some friends into coming with us. Once we showed them pictures of the resort there was no question as to where we would stay :rotfl2: We have all booked into the Beach Club from the 16th until the 30th August 2013.

I tend to read more than post but hope to change that over the next 12 months. Looking forward to planning with you all.

Would loooove to go on the guest list (thanks Dee) :worship:

We haven't told the children yet so am also looking for a novel way of telling them.

Hope everyone who is lucky enough to be going this year has a wonderful time - love reading the trip reports and "highs and lows".:goodvibes:idea:

Many thanks for letting me share my excitement :yay:
