OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Teena I am so sorry to hear about Vic, my thoughts and prayers are with you all and especially his wife. I hope she can still find her little beach house, that just broke my heart to hear about their special plans.

Everyone have a BLAST meeting up tonight! :grouphug: I wish I was there but alas I must wait 13 more days before we are finally back. Look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing about how much fun you guys had. :thumbsup2

Arrived at the Beach Club this morning! Checked in at 8:30 -- and our room was ready!

Met Teena, too! Goodness, what a nice lady! Had a lovely chat and some excellent pointers!

Did a quick stroll to get ourselves acquainted with everything (including the "secret" 1501 entrance/exit). Now, off to Epcot for lunch and then some lounging at Stormalong Bay with a Sunken Treasure) before dinner at San Angel Inn and EMH at MK)!

Yay Disney!

TODAY is the DAY!!

For those of you who may be down at the Beach/Yacht club during the Third Annual BC/YC Dis Meet on Sunday, July 22 at 6:30 pm in the Beach Club Solarium.......

DON'T BE BASHFUL! Stop on by. All of these people are really friendly and new people will be welcomed with open arms. I realize everybody is really busy running around while they are at Disney but just stop in for 15 mins. to say hi and join the fun.

Can't wait to see the pictures from this year's meet. Always fun to put some faces to the names.

Have a great time, for those who are there. :goodvibes

I didn't sleep much last night. I got up earlier than normal since I wasn't sleeping good and I'm getting ready to go into work now. I kept thinking of Vic. He was so funny and "bad". Once I was talking to a guest, answering questions about the parks. He came by on his way to the luggage room, stood right in between me and the guest, facing the guest. He proceeded in a real soft voice to tell the guest, "Just act normal. She escapes from the home routinely and they are on their way to get her now. She thinks she works here." Thank goodness the guest knew me or they probably would have run out of the resort scared! On Monday, I was standing in my spot in the lobby talking to one of the managers and he walked by and said, "Patrick, I didn't know it was bring your great-great-great grandmother to work day." He and his humor will be missed!!!!

Aw, that's hysterical. While I'm very sorry for your loss, I'm so glad you have great memories of him to wrap yourself up in . I read this earlier this morning, and I'm still chuckling about it. I'm trying to think which of my coworkers the line about " she escaped from the home " would work on.

Adding my thoughts and prayers for Vic's wife, family, friends and coworkers.

Have fun at the meet everyone. :grouphug: The rest of us will be there in spirit. :surfweb:

Hi,
My husband and I are in the process of planning our April 2013 trip. The beach and yacht club are both in the running for where we want to stay. My question is regarding being one of the last resorts to get picked up on the bus loop to the parks. Are you consistently forced to stand due to full buses? I know that there are always exceptions to the rule – but just trying to get a feel from those that have stayed there before. Any insight would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Since you only have to use the bus for MK and AK it didn't bother us at all. We used the buses to get to MK several times and never had a problem getting a seat at all. It stops at YC before BC so if it is a really busy time you could walk down to the YC stop if you wanted but we had no issues and even stopping at BW after, the buses were never completely full.

Only time we were on a full bus was coming back from MK during EMH and that cannot be helped.

That is so FUNNY:rotfl:
Nice you have some great memories of him!

So - I just booked a third night before our Disney Cruise at the Beach Club - just couldn't figure out how to get everything in that we wanted to do without booking another night! I'm surprising my mom with Concierge Level - Garden View.

Has anyone stayed there? Are the Garden View rooms nice? Would you stay in them again? Any thoughts?? Should I change to a different view??

We've stayed at the BC before and loved it - but she's never stayed CL anywhere, so I thought I'd surprise her. She thinks we have a standard room... :cool1: :cool1:

After the cruise, we're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - we're not planning much park time after the cruise, so thought that would be a good place to stay.

I can't wait to get back!!:banana::banana: Not sure how I'm going to be able to work these next 4 months! But I guess I'll need to somehow - to pay for everything!!

Thanks!

Michelle

TEN more days to go!!!

I hate the thought that I'm wishing away my summer vacation, but, seriously: TEN more days till we're at the Beach Club and WDW!!!

tomorrow you will be in the single digits:cool1:

2 1/2 weeks til our vacation and my son has been plagued with a stomach bug ....he is going on day #3....I am praying that it will get through the house prior to vacation so none of us are sick while we are there ...

Seems like everytime we are getting ready to go, one of the kids gets sick and then I am on edge the whole time worrying we will be sick there. I would just cry if that happens :faint:....

Fingers crossed that he will be done being sick soon and the other son doesn't get it....course they are 7 and 5 and are best friends so chances are.....:worried:

Here's to hoping to an illness free vacation :wizard:
Two more days!!! We will be arriving on Tuesday for our first ever BC stay!!!

Can. not. wait.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Have fun. It is an amazing place:woohoo:

This was a hoot. Vic sure sounded like my kind of guy. I know you will miss him but he will live on. The good ones always do.

What are the possible views for a YC/CL Garden View room? I only know about the gazebo view. We don't want to be near SAB.

TIA:)

Teena, so sorry to hear about Vic. Sounds like he was a great guy. Hugs to you and the rest of the Y&BC family.

Only other choice is front of resort over walkway...I much prefer gazebo...there are 4 facing that ....
