Old Disney Park photos

The picture was taken in Liberty Square. The park was so different back then. We were staying at the Contemporary. There was only the Contemporary or the Polynesian. My brother and I took the monorail to MK and rode the ride "If You Had Wings" over and over again. I think we rode about 12 times in a row. You didn't need a ticket for that ride. Other rides required different tickets.

I remember those tickets! You ripped them out for which rides you wanted to go on! I think I maybe I even have the ones that we had left over somewhere. Does anyone know if the tickets were no expiration? Like they have now? I don't remember. But I want to say my parents had hung on to them because you could use them again then next time you went. :confused3

They didn't expire. I think my parents still have some of the "A" tickets left.

I love this thread! I only have 2 old pix scanned in, but I'll get to work on scanning in more. I don't remember where these were taken, but it is Epcot circa 1983.

Poor quality as this is a digital recreation of my family's old pics from WDW circa 1973- my first trip to Walt Disney World! This is my brother and me at Ft. Wilderness. Anyone know what happened to that big tree slice? It wasn't there in 2004.

The first picture is from 1979, the second from our 2004 trip. It was truly magical to go to Disney World as an adult with not only my own kids, but with my siblings, their children and my parents. We had a great time recreating a few shots found in Mom & Dad's photo albums. (I'm on the right :) )

OK, only a few more and I'll stop :teeth: This is my brother and me at the MK entrance in 1973. Hasn't changed much, has it? I have another one from our '79 trip, but can't find it at the moment.

More from 1979- this was March, so light crowds. My parents always took us out of school to avoid crowds and too much heat... that's what I'm doing in 29 days!!!

The adventureland sign sure has changed. The little guy in all the pics is me, the rest are brothers, sister and dad.

I have to get my photos together from the 80s and scan them in. I love this thread!

I'm upset looking at these because all of our old photos are in storage at the moment because we are in the process of moving. I hope I will be able to find them and get them all out in the next few months! I have tons of old Disney photo albums from my childhood and from my parents when they went there many times before I was born!

These are great.

But you know what I notice is missing in all these old photos?

CELL PHONES!

Now every time I look at crowd pictures, half the people are on cell phones. (I'm guilty, too.) :rotfl:

September 1979- notice out big buttons we're wearing... I believe they were holding our resort info or passes- something, but I do remember having to wear them. And what's up with carrying a "clutch" purse??? Ahhh... I was 13 and thought I was waaayyyyy cool! :rotfl:

I loved each and every one of these. My 1st trip was in 1982 I was 10 at the time, and soooo many of your 80's pics bring back memories. Pink terry cloth rompers - had one - wore it! Long briimed hat - ditto! 20,000 leagues under the sea! I loved it, but I have a vague recollection of barely fitting in it at 10, and I rode it with my 6'4" father! ...and I absolutely adored Figment! I think I rode that ride again and again. Great pics! Keep them coming!

These are just great! I think I will start taking a pic in the same place each trip to keep a record of how our family and friends change and grow,
