Old Disney Park photos

These are from our Honeymoon Trip in 1987

I can't believe these turned out, I can't get pictures of fireworks now. I don't remember the name of this show, Epcot, when they used to do the laser images on Spaceship Earth.

Not sure the purpose of this clock, although the 15's probably tie in with Celebration, but why is there a car at the MK entrance?

I've got more from trip in 1978, but have to go to mom's house to get them.

I have a pic like that too.....if I remember correctly they were giving the cars away as part of the 15 years celebration.

My sole contribution to this thread, and it's not even WDW. This is in Disneyland 1978. I don't know where in the park:

montenj....Great shots!

Don Pacho...World of Motion....awww I loved that ride. The Early 80 first picture of Epcot...wow look how small all the trees were!

I love the couple pictures of the Pirate photo op....those are really cute. I wish they still had something like that.

I do think Mickey's ears use to be BIGGER.

I went through my pictures but have't gotten any scanned. But I do have one of Snoring Man at Legoland.

These are my boys Jonathan and Erich 2 years ago....they look so little to me now!

I don't know why this one made such an impression on me - I had been to WDW dozens of times before it & hundreds of times since it, but I still sing the song from that parade, "15 years, & we're having a party. 15 years, & there's a party going on. 15 years, ........." every single time we go into the parks (weekly or bi-weekly) & it still makes me happy! Thanks for these pictures. (I have a ton, also, but I'm glad I don't have to dig them out. ;))

Have loved all these pics. I actually have one from our first trip to Disney in Aug 1972 at work to show frineds. Wish I could scan it.

the cars at MK was because they gave a car away each day for the 15th bday.

I loved the candy castle myself. That was DS#1's 1st trip to Disney.

Don't remember the train station.

Miss 20,000 Leages. Lines are not the way they used to be that is certain. So glad for fastpasses.

Miss the skyride, too.

Can anyone tell me what was where Mikey's Toontown was originally?

Keep th e pics coming

I know it was called 'Mickey's Starland' & 'Mickey's Birthdayland' at different times, but I don't which one came first. I remember some type of huge ball-crawl thing, too, where the Barnstormer (roller coaster) is now.

I think it used to be called Duckburg as well. Here is a photo of the Duckburg sign. I believe this is from 1990 but not too sure.

These are awesome!! All my really old pics are at my mom's house in albumns - I'll have to scan some.

Okay, am I the only dork looking for myself in these old pics?! :)

When someone mentioned a man in yellow socks and white shoes, I was a little afraid I might see my father. :rotfl:

My parents have a bunch of slides from our January 1972 trip. Next time I go home, I'll see if I can scan some.

ETA: He most likely would have been in shorts with BLACK socks and WHITE shoes, though! :lmao:

I think that it was Mickey's birthday land first. :)

I never got to go to WDW until the late 90's, but I am really loving these old photos. Its amazing how much styles and designs change!

Ok, got the old ones from 1978.
Here are some shots in the Polynesian rooms, my brother in one and sisters in another.

We didn't go in it, it was Feb and unseasonably cold even for Florida. We wore our winter coats around the MK.

.

I soooooo miss the original figment ride. I was SOOO DISAPPOINTED, when I saw it this last Thanskgiving. Why does disney feel the need to mess wit hsuccess? The new imagination ride is just horrible.

Same goes for the TIKI room. They have totally ruined it.

Thanks for sharing the GOOD OLD DAYS!

this is my favorite thread on the Dis. :cool1: Im gonna have to have my mom send me some old pictures of way back when so I can post. Please everyone keep them coming. I love them :sunny:

Wow! I miss those topiaries! I remember seeing them from the monorail on my first trip in '75...was 4.
