Okay, what's the FIRST thing that tells you, "Wow, we are DEFINITELY at WDW!" ??

The moment that I really realised I was in WDW (my first time) was in PhilarMagic. I got all teary-eyed and stuff...I was a littke embarassed... :

It starts for us when we get on the airport tram....and hearing the public voice loop ....it's the same voice as you hear on the WDW monorail. Then there's seeing you limo driver and going outside and smelling the Florida air.....nothing like it, because you know you're on your way to lots of fun.

I put my mickey ears on when i pull out of the driveway so the magic hits me about then

The Walt Disney World Sign as you drive down World Dr toward Magic Kingdom!

The castle! We arrived in the afternoon the last trip and headed to MK for the afternoon. I actually got teary eyed walking down Main Street - does this happen to anyone else?

Yes, it happens to me. I choke up every time I'm there. The sight of that breathtaking castle, the music they play on Main Street, the smells, the people, I could go on and on. I'm choking up just writing about it! :earsgirl:

I know we're definitely at WDW when we see those glorious purple signs, the Tower of Terror sign with the swinging elevator and the archway that says "Magic Kingdom" written in Sleeping Beauty-style letters.

6 more days until those purple signs! :Pinkbounc

Gosh, mine is pretty much once I start seeing palm trees in abundance as we're driving in....I watch for them. We still have an hour + drive at that point, but that's close enough for me to be happy!

Exactly!

Level 1. When the wheels of the plane touch down at MCO

Level 2. When the doors to the Resort lobby open and I feel the A/C, smell the resort smell and hear the music/the waterfall (matters whether I'm Poly or DVC)

Level 3. When I emerge from the railroad tunnel and see the roads merging into Walt's dream of America, Main Street

Another thing that reminds me that I'm at Disney is when I see the red and purple sign that says "Welcome to Walt Disney World" and when I see the tops of the Twoer of Terror and Spaceship Earth! I wish I was there!!!

For me it is driving through the "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign, or the walk down main street to the castle. Though the thing that really makes me feel HOME is the first hot-fudge sunday from the Main Street Ice-Cream Parlor.

For my wife - the first monorail that she sees heading to the M.K. She may see other monorails before that, but that is her feeling of "having arrived."

I start to get excited when we see the Mickey shaped electric poles. But we really love the big Disney World arch you drive under like a welcoming shelter of happiness. It's one of the first pictures DH and I took on our honeymoon trip, I even took that picture and made it into a countdown calendar for DS so he'll know what that Arch means. Weare getting so close and I can't wait  !!!!!!!

Going thru those Walt Disney World Arches! I just get teary eyed. My kids laught at me and tell me that I'm such a goober. Oh well, I guess I'd rather be a goober :rotfl2:
