I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

He Who Shall Not be Named is reporting that Chase has added a $250 travel credit starting January 1, 2026 (in addition to the 2 x $250 credits). They are also reporting that the 2 x $250 credits can be used simultaneously and in addition to the new $250 and $300 travel credits.
"Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, cardholders will automatically get a credit of up to $250 for each prepaid (two-night or longer) booking with The Edit (up to $500 annually). The credit will no longer be biannual and divvied up every six months; instead, it's applied to any prepaid two-night booking."
For me, this makes the card a keeper, at least for 2026.
Miles to Memories explained it like this:

Starting January 1, 2026, enjoy up to $500 in automatic statement credits annually for prepaid bookings made with The Edit, with a maximum of $250 per transaction.

That means that you can use these $250 credits for two stays at any time during the year.

A two-night minimum is still required.

New $250 Credit

Starting in 2026, Chase Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders will get up to $250 in statement credits on prepaid Chase Travel hotel bookings for stays with:

  • IHG® Hotels & Resorts
  • Montage Hotels & Resorts
  • Pendry Hotels & Resorts
  • Omni Hotels & Resorts
  • Virgin Hotels
  • Minor Hotels
  • Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts.
A two-night minimum is required.

I'm not loving the two night minimums. But I do appreciate the flexibility to use the credits any time during the year. The new $250 hotel credit is interesting, but again a 2 night minimum. It would be nice to stack those two credits together, say at a Kimpton.

I missed the above list, which will make the credit almost useless. Unless I can use it for a stay at the Pan Pacific Vancouver (if I go out west skiing for a few nights in January -- not sure if I will or not, need to see if I can offload our week at the Westin first). It's frustrating that they'd add a $250.00 credit, but only at specific hotels smh.

Im getting ready to book 2 room-only reservations on WDW site. How does Disney code this? Travel or Hotel? I’d either be using VentureX or CSP and I think they’ll both be 2x but may end up getting another card, or may use my new Ink Cash I got in today to buy visa gift cards at Office Depot or staples for 5x to use to make payments.

Also when it comes to dining, plan to use Amex Gold for 4x.

Can I charge things from stores/gift shops/safari tour to the room if I end with a card that is 3x or higher for hotel room and pay hotel bill at checkout?

Yes it will code as travel so you would earn 2x with both cards but if using a Venture or Venture X you could wipe it out with the purchase eraser feature.

After the deposit is made I would certainly work on your minimum spend by grabbing V/MC from Staples/OD/OM and then using those cards at Sam’s Club / BJ’s to purchase discounted Disney Gift Cards to apply to the remaining balance.

As far as charging to the room, most things you can charge back but I believe the Safari you would have to pay up front for.
We always charge to the room and then go to the front desk to pay down our portfolio with discounted gift cards but we keep whatever card earns the most for Hotels (CSR for us) on file in case we don’t have enough gift cards to cover our bill.

Looks like tons of new stuff.
600$ FHR Credit (it looks like it reset). I haven't tried this.
400$ Resy Credit 100$ Quarterly
Digital Entertainment up to 25$ a month
Uber One Credit (I guess I can use this once my Delta One expires).
Saks Credit is still there, Same with clear
200$ Oura Ring Credit
300$ lululemon credit (75$ a quarter).
It doesn't look like the sax or airline credit reset.

First Princess cruise is going well. The weather has been fantastic. The ship is beautiful. I’ve been impressed with the service we’ve gotten. We’ve done all specialty dining for dinner which has been good (I’m the opposite of a foodie). Their packages which include wifi and drinks are great (I don’t drink alcohol but like being able to get Coke Zero and bottled water). The only thing I dislike is the smell of smoke near the casino. Anyway, I was nervous after eight Disney cruises but have been pleasantly surprised and looking forward to doing Greek Isles on princess (same ship) next fall.

Someone probably mentioned this already but Amex increased the streaming credit on the Platinum and it now includes Youtube TV. I currently use it for Peacock and WSJ but I feel like there's some other way I can get Peacock. I need to keep the WSJ, but that still would leave $17/month. I did switch Disney + and Hulu to BCP recently.

Yeah, I think we gotta spend that fast. Same with Resy, I guess.
We're heading to Vancouver this weekend. I guess we'll eat at Resy restaurants.
Some of my Resy Restaurants sell gift cards. That is how I get rid of my $10 a month one from Delta as a split payment with $10 on the AMEX and then the rest on a CSR

OK thank you- I guess 5x points on Visa GC with Ink and then the 5% or 10% or whatever discount Sams/Costco has on Disney gift cards is the best multiplier/discount possible. With the deposits I paid w/ CSP that takes care of the SUB, and can use the Ink gift cards to satisfy part of its SUB to convert to Disney GC to finish paying the rooms and any food/merch I can post to the final room charge

Is there a consensus best discount percentage from Sam's/Costco I should aim for? or any extra percent off they may do around Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

If you need Peacock and YouTube TV you might want to keep Peacock on the Platinum since it is less per month. If you put YouTube TV on the Platinum you would only be earning 1x on the amount after credits vs 6x that you would have if YouTube TV was charged to the BCP

That was my first thought. Then I figured I have free eating out money for this trip! But yeah, I'll going to start doing quarterly visits to Resy restaurants for gift cards after this quarter

Okay, what do I need to get with my $75 quarterly Amex Plat Lululemon credit? Open to anything. Anyone have pants/tights they love?
The credit won't cover most clothing items, but will make a dent in the price. $75 will get a couple of hair accessories. I don't shop there but went in with my granddaughter not realizing the sizing did not go that small. We left empty handed. My niece did buy for my grandniece but she would wait for the outlet stores near Disney. We will try again if they want when they grow taller. Haven't checked any sales.

I'm thinking I can switch my streaming credit on Walmart+ to Peacock (I don't use Paramount +). Good point on the 6x on BCP. I think the extra $17 will still be about an extra $13 off, even with the lower rewards rate.

Love this idea. I have a Tazza Kitchen nearby (I think it's a small VA/NC/SC chain) on Resy. I probably will grab a gift card and give it to my son to take his girlfriend out since most of his money goes to rent.

So one good news about the Plat refresh, if I'm reading Frequent Miler correctly, is that the higher AF doesn't start today for existing card members.

"For card members who opened accounts before September 18th, new benefits are available immediately, but the new annual fee won’t go into effect until their next renewal dates on or after January 2, 2026 (or December 2, 2025 for Business Platinum cards)."

My personal Plat AF hits next week, sounds like I'll get another year with the lower fee!
