Okay... So what is your Username About?

Mine is a tribute to BIL who passed many years ago. His name was Micky Love - no e in the Mickey.

My birthday is December 5th (which is the same as Walt Disney's). My name is Gena.

BTW I had my daughter on December 5th too so I'm going to try to get her to be minidec5girl when she joins someday.........

Me - Marv, DW - Alison, so marvali.

I am the one who is always on here. DW sometimes reads over my shoulder, or if I see something on here that we will use during vacation, or I think she will find funny I point it out to her. So far I haven't gotten her to jump in and play along on the DIS Boards though, but maybe in time she'll become an addict like me.:rotfl2:

Your name is Diane and you love Schlicht's Malt Liquor- right?

LOL! Well, the last I heard, it's Schlitz malt liquor! I wish I knew for sure what our last name means, but I think it means smooth, so I guess I'm a smooth Diane!:lmao:

Just read this whole thread. Love all the great names :yay:

Mine is quite simple, I am one lucky mom : I have 3 great daughters and a wonderful husband who bought into DVC for me :cheer2: :cheer2: !!

Belle is my favorite Disney "princess" and the one I most relate to, and I live in Alaska...so I am Belle of Alaska.

I'm Bill, and you really don't want to know....:scared1:

Bill...if I am not mistaken, you are from Batesville, Indiana. Batesville is, of course, known for the famous Batesville Casket Company.

Those two thing have to go together somehow to come up with your name. Fill us in!

Me...well, mine is simple! 11-2-96 @ Yacht Club Gazebo!

OK. I'll play.

Just what it sounds like.

I'm an amatuer pilot (instrument/multi-engine rated) (full scale, ie: real aircraft).

I also fly competition radio control aircraft (http://www.mini-iac.com/DesktopDefault.aspx), big-birds (multi cylinder gasoline engines with 100"+ wing-spans), RC jets and helicopters. I'm partially sponsored by companies like Futaba, Dubro and Carden. :)

Brilliant! I never put that all together. Now I AM intrigued.

Lack of imagination while quickly trying to plan a WDW vacation many years ago. That's why I now have a nickname as well as a user name. I've also gotten married since then, so my username is in need of change anyway.

Interesting.... so, how do you compare flying onboard vs. remote. Just wondering?

While the physics of flight itself are identical, the acts of flying RC v. scale are totally different.

It's much easier if you're actually sitting in the left-hand seat. ;)

With RC, it's all visual. You have no feel and think about this, everything reverses (control-wise) every time you turn a base leg. then, 5 seconds later, it all reverses again. It's a constant challenge and while scale flying is too, it's much more relaxing.

With RC flying, you can never take your eye off the ball even for one second or there's $10k worth of toothpicks on the ground (with the birds I typically fly) you can pick up in a 30 gallon garbage bag. Been there. Done that. Many times. :( LOL

There's actually much more room for error in scale flying. Most wouldn't believe it but it's true. that's why crashes are a rarity while in RC flying, they are the norm. In RC flying we have a saying, "There are two kinds of aircraft; those that have crashed and those that are going to crash." Thank God scale flying isn't that way! LOL

Having said all that. I prefer scale flying simply because flying is what I love. I have my ticket via waiver because I'm color-blind or I would have gone OCS and flown in the Navy. I had'em fooled right up to the last minute medical. Noone ever knew I was color-blind except me until I was a senior in college.

I'd fly commercially today if they'd let me but they never will (and they shouldn't).

I just love flying. Period.

Thanks for asking!!!

I am thinking it is German for NATURAL. Someone who is upfront and comfortable socializing. :thumbsup2 Yep.

Diane/Rob, I just pulled out the old Cassell's German-English/English-German and schlicht means homely (not Diane, I know her), simple, modest, unpretentious, straightforward, sleek, smooth. But, then, she married into that name. So it really refers to her husband.
