Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

FM, the shower sounds interesting - at least the wine part! I completely understand about the gift thing. I have a good friend getting married in a few months and I was shocked by how expensive her gift registry is. They are far from being wealthy. But I think the craziness extends to more than just gifts. It seems like so many people go absolutely crazy making sure that one day is perfect and give so much less thought to the actual marriage. I'm sure my perspective comes from already having had the big wedding. I just have no desire for another one.

So why won't your DBF go to the wedding? :badpc:

Thanks for nice words, all.

Too funny, as surely reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where they chip in to buy a big screen TV for a shower... then the couple breaks up.... and she keeps the TV. A very funny one.

Hope that all are having a nice Sunday! Had kids for weekend and lots of fun... but said goodbye after church... so thinking maybe of heading over to the to Orlando Art Museum as have NEVER been.

He has a good reason, but it doesn't mean I have to like it or that I have to be happy about it. At least I'll have my Uncle there and we'll have fun together

DD went over to my parents house for the day, so I have some peace and quiet. :cloud9: Made some bananna bread and doing some housework. Looking at houses online. Thinking of buying a house next year. Maybe build one. Maybe.

Crossing my fingers for new goods for you Sandy on Monday!
Thank you!

Just had a call from the visiting nurse. A doc in the office is upping one of the meds. ACK! Don't know if that's good or bad. To me, that's bad. But maybe it will get me to the numbers they want quicker. So far, just told to take extra today, take what I usually do tomorrow.

Why do I get the feeling I won't be at work anytime SOON!!! As in this week? ACK! Used all my sick time last week. :( Need to work!!!

I had "fun" yesterday. Went to one of my future-sister-in-law's bridal showers. I was told that it was going to be with all her friends. Just the bridal shower showed up with their moms. So I was a bit confused. The fun part was that we got to bottle wine and I took two bottles home. I just couldn't believe on how "different" my perspective on things are from them. They kept talking about how wonderful it is to get so many presents from everybody. They went on and on and on and on about this. I"m confused, but I never thought that as a reason to get married. :confused3 When the owner was going over some very interesting things, the "girls" were in back talking to each other. The maid of honor interuppted him and asked him when we were going to start bottling the wine. :rolleyes1 As we were leaving we were told about another bridal shower next month. I am NOT going to that. I already have a nice little black dress ready to go for the wedding. :earboy2: Oh and dbf isn't going with me and I feel like doing this :badpc: to him. Grrrr...
Seems rather rude of them to not be listening to someone. Sorry about dbf not going. That stinks.

Have fun at the museum!! :)

Thanks, Suzanne!

I suppose it didn't help when I went online last night to check my insurance, referrals, etc. and a home health nurse is approved for...21 days! Three weeks!! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:  I'm hoping that doesn't mean I'm home THAT long. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Suzanne,
Good luck getting into a house next year. The way prices have been rising it's crazy. I couldn't afford the house I really wanted. The houses I might be able to afford I didn't like so I ended up in a townhouse. Two people at work are building. One is a custom home and it's been almost 3 yrs. and it's still not done. The other is a track home that should have been done in 4 months and it's been 15 months and it's still not done. After listening to their stories, I would never build.

Pin- Doesn't mean you'll need them the entire 21 days. Hope things are looking up on Monday.

I had a party today for my sister's 40th birthday. It turned out really well. I am wiped out though.
I love being in a place that is a good size for having parties.

SSB- Orlando has an art museum? How was it?
Love Seinfeld. That was a funny episode.

Thank you for that, Legs! :) :teeth: Feeling better about that aspect of it if visiting nurses are shorter than that time span. Crossing fingers for the doctor tomorrow.

So you had your sister's party at your home? Sounds like you had a good time throwing it for her. :)

How did the doc's visit go? I"ve been thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers.

Thank you, Suzanne, I appreciate that!!! Nothing new from the doctor. She's increasing the dosage of one of the medicines, keeping the other the same. Not near where she wants the numbers to be. :( Still confined to the sofa. :( It's difficult now! Geez...even a drive to the store and sending DS in for things is a treat. If the numbers come up, I can go back to work on Monday! :teeth: Hoping and praying for that! She had said even possibly the end of this week. I don't know about that if I'm still not where she wants it to be. Plus she's talking about it being consistent at that point. I'll take Monday!!!! I'm ready to try drinking more water to hopefully make SOME difference. I'm not a big water drinker. I know the visiting nurse said especially in the summer, drink LOTS of water.

Thanks for the BD msgs :) Have new parakeet "Picasso" this morning...

L's ... the Museum was really VERY worth it. Spent many hours there, and did not even go to the special exhibits as they were so busy... and had great time. Ended up getting annual pass.

Best o' luck PW with the water dealee... sending good thoughts.

FM, the Lazy River (I think) shot is great of you two!

TB - Those gift registeries can be OOC, eh? :) Howdy!

Thanks SSB! Spent most of the early summer there. It's been hot! Glad you had a great time at the exhibits.

Drink up Sandy!
Oh, you're not kidding. Bad patient here. Last night I only increased the medicine by 1/2 of what the doctor said...too many FRIGHTENING possible side effects!!! Didn't make much of a difference in today's blood work. So tonight I'll take the full amount she wants. ACK! I must be taking enough of this to thin out a horse's blood by now.

SSB...Thank you! I'll take them! :) Congrats on the new addition to the family. Birds are great actually. Never thought we would be so entertained and have fuzzy warm spots for our little love bird. :cloud9:

Sometimes when you read the side effects of meds you wonder if they are even worth it. Especially some of those commercials on tv. Some of the side effects are worse the the orginal symptons.

My off tomorrow and DD starts school Monday!

That's very true, Suzanne. This morning I told the visiting nurse about only taking 1/2 what the doc said and why. She said she's sure the possible side effects scared me out of it. I told her...absolutely! She said the major thing I need to be concerned with is to not cut myself on anything. :( Makes me think of when I was discharged from the hospital and the nurse said...be careful. :( Living life on a "be careful" basis stinks!

My grandmother's on those type of meds too. If you do cut yourself, call your doc. YOu just need to take it easy and relax. Watch lots and lots of tv, catch up on your reading, etc.

LOL! That's been life the past week and a half. I want to do sit ups at the very least!! Sincerely hoping I get back to work on Monday.
