Hey everybody...it is your resident slacker poster/extremely busy gal checking in!!!!
Hope all is well.
Been a busy time for me lately...but then again what isn't?? Finished my last exam on Monday!!! WooHoo!!!!!!! Final grades have yet to be posted, but I got a grade on this big paper in one of my classes. It is taught by the head of my department, and although it wasn't a horribly difficult class, I was sweating my paper, it was worth about 1/3 of the entire class grade, 300 points. I was just checking online and this is the comment he wrote on my paper:
"Excellent job of discussing an often controversial issue. Highest grade in the class and only 300."
I would estimate there are around 70 or so people in my class. I was feeling pretty good after reading that. My paper was on the influence of Multinational Corporations on US foreign economic policy.
In other news.....
Yesterday was my birthday, and of course workguy was spectacular. We got Dunkin donuts and milk and juice and ate at a picnic area over the river near our house. Then we spent the morning going to tree and plant nurseries because workguy is landscaping his house and looking for the "right" palm trees. He then took me to this beautiful park that is on a point jetting out into the river. They have picnic areas with grills and we BBQed hotdogs. A big storm came through, but we stayed under the picnic canopy and watched it hit the water. Then we spent the rest of the day just being together and doing something I love....shopping!!! He tends to pull me into any jewelry shop we pass, as he wants to get ideas of what I like. I honestly don't really even know myself...one of those, know it when you see it things, so I definitely don't mind looking to get ideas. The assistants in jewelry shops must go to the same training schools as car salesmen. They are like vultures...they see a couple come in and try to become the woman's best friend. Ugh very fake and annoying. Normally we just tell them about 5-7 times that we are "just looking" and "no thanks we don't need any help" but this time I let the woman show me some stuff and I actually put on the very first engagement ring I have ever tried on. I disliked it right away (it just wasn't me at all) but it was a weird and warm fuzzy feeling trying it on. We had dinner at Pizza Hut (I always went there for by birthday dinner as a kid) and came home to this yummy ice cream cake he had bought for me. He also gave me a very nice perfume we had admired a few weeks earlier, a pewter giraffe on an amethest cut stone stand (I love giraffes), a sparkly pink glass rose on a mirror stand (he had gotten me one for V-Day and I had later seen more in a store and mentioned how much I like the first one and would like more....he is such a good listener and rememberer (is that a word??

)), and a polished pink heart stone about 2in big. And the card he got was just perfect. I knew he had given it a lot of meaning when he picked it out because it said almost exactly what he has said outloud to me previously, and it had this little credit card type thing attached to it to keep in your wallet in rememberence. I love it!!!!
Today happens to be my best friend's birthday (she is one year minus one day older than me

) and so we have plans for Friday night. Workguy and I and my bf and her boyfriend and her brother and his (very very new) fiance (who are also good friend's of ours) are all going to my absolute favorite restaurant. It is this habatchi (sp?) grill Japanese steakhouse. Ohhhh it is sooooo good, then back to my friend's house for some taboo!
My bf's brother just asked his girlfriend to marry him a few weeks ago, and we are all so very excited, b/c she asked his sister (my bf) to be her maid of honor, and her brother asked her boyfriend (who was one of his childhood best friends) to be his best man. They are each only having one person, and this worked out because the brother's other best childhood friend is now a youth minister and will be marrying them!! So my best friend and I are so excited about planning her bridal shower and her bachelorette party. The three of us had been planning a girls only Key West trip for May (while the boys go fishing in the Carribbean), but it fell through, so this gives us something fun to plan!!!
