Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

I'm sorry it didn't work out PW, maybe next time.

Suzanne? Well, dis of course. ::yes::

Thanks, Suzanne! I need nagging!! :scared: I'm hoping to have it finished today. I have to find the keywords and get them in there. Pretty interesting how their computer picks those words out of a resume. If you don't have them, they don't even look at yours. Thinking about the personal references also. I think I've got it down to three I want to use that would be good.

Thanks, Serena! It takes time. And this is a good way to find out what's out there. :) Who knows...maybe they'll dig out the resumes if an office position opens up. You never know. :)

Tonight is DS's music program at school. He lucked out! He gets to skip singing with his class...mainly because he doesn't know too much of the songs since we moved just a few weeks ago...so he gets to work the curtain all night! I want to do that job!!!!!! :teeth:

Suzanne...Finished all your grading, etc.? :teacher: Congratulations! :) Maybe some time for you! Of course, you could DIS a while. ;)

PW, i hope everything goes well for you with this next job prospect.

::MinnieMo ~ Woo-Hoo!!!! :bounce: Grades are up to date!!

Serena: Of course my momma loves me. I love her too, That's part of the reason why i haven't decided what I am going to do as far as staying in FL.

Matt told me he has never felt like this about someone. We aren't even dating. We haven't even had a kiss yet. I knew he would get attached too fast. So yesterday I talked to him, I told him some reasons why I haven't really gotten involved with him, some of them being that I am leaving for FL in 4 months, and I will be gone for no less then 5 months. Also, it isn't fair to him for me to get involved with him when I still have feelings for my ex, obviously my ex and I won't get back together but that doesn't mean that there aren't still feelings. I also asked him if we did get together and when i go to FL, what if I don't come back. And he said well then I guess I will be moving, then he was like well I could start with a extended vacation to see if I like it. :scared: I don't know what to think of that.

Thanks, MDP. The reformatting of the resume is driving me crazy. Have to get moving on it, but I'm not sure what to do with it! This is why I hired a company to do it, but it could take them up to 5 days...for the "first" run. Ack! I'll be sending this overnight mail. I can see it now. :scared:

Is it frightening thinking of him having an extended vacation near you? Oh, no! That doesn't sound good. :wizard: for you!

MDP, something seems really off to me. He hasn't kissed you yet, but he is talking about moving to Florida to be with you? Sounds to me like he is living in a fantasy world.

PW, I have never heard that before in reference to a resume. I have never even had to submit a resume/Vita electronically before. Very interesting. A little scary. :p

I sent the pic of me and Mr. Tramp to my ex-husband, mainly because he is a big UT fan. His response? Would my boyfriend mind if I take a break to visit him?

Hey everybody...it is your resident slacker poster/extremely busy gal checking in!!!!

Hope all is well.

Been a busy time for me lately...but then again what isn't?? Finished my last exam on Monday!!! WooHoo!!!!!!! Final grades have yet to be posted, but I got a grade on this big paper in one of my classes. It is taught by the head of my department, and although it wasn't a horribly difficult class, I was sweating my paper, it was worth about 1/3 of the entire class grade, 300 points. I was just checking online and this is the comment he wrote on my paper:

"Excellent job of discussing an often controversial issue. Highest grade in the class and only 300."

I would estimate there are around 70 or so people in my class. I was feeling pretty good after reading that. My paper was on the influence of Multinational Corporations on US foreign economic policy.

In other news.....;)

Yesterday was my birthday, and of course workguy was spectacular. We got Dunkin donuts and milk and juice and ate at a picnic area over the river near our house. Then we spent the morning going to tree and plant nurseries because workguy is landscaping his house and looking for the "right" palm trees. He then took me to this beautiful park that is on a point jetting out into the river. They have picnic areas with grills and we BBQed hotdogs. A big storm came through, but we stayed under the picnic canopy and watched it hit the water. Then we spent the rest of the day just being together and doing something I love....shopping!!! He tends to pull me into any jewelry shop we pass, as he wants to get ideas of what I like. I honestly don't really even know myself...one of those, know it when you see it things, so I definitely don't mind looking to get ideas. The assistants in jewelry shops must go to the same training schools as car salesmen. They are like vultures...they see a couple come in and try to become the woman's best friend. Ugh very fake and annoying. Normally we just tell them about 5-7 times that we are "just looking" and "no thanks we don't need any help" but this time I let the woman show me some stuff and I actually put on the very first engagement ring I have ever tried on. I disliked it right away (it just wasn't me at all) but it was a weird and warm fuzzy feeling trying it on. We had dinner at Pizza Hut (I always went there for by birthday dinner as a kid) and came home to this yummy ice cream cake he had bought for me. He also gave me a very nice perfume we had admired a few weeks earlier, a pewter giraffe on an amethest cut stone stand (I love giraffes), a sparkly pink glass rose on a mirror stand (he had gotten me one for V-Day and I had later seen more in a store and mentioned how much I like the first one and would like more....he is such a good listener and rememberer (is that a word?? :) )), and a polished pink heart stone about 2in big. And the card he got was just perfect. I knew he had given it a lot of meaning when he picked it out because it said almost exactly what he has said outloud to me previously, and it had this little credit card type thing attached to it to keep in your wallet in rememberence. I love it!!!!

Today happens to be my best friend's birthday (she is one year minus one day older than me ;) ) and so we have plans for Friday night. Workguy and I and my bf and her boyfriend and her brother and his (very very new) fiance (who are also good friend's of ours) are all going to my absolute favorite restaurant. It is this habatchi (sp?) grill Japanese steakhouse. Ohhhh it is sooooo good, then back to my friend's house for some taboo!

My bf's brother just asked his girlfriend to marry him a few weeks ago, and we are all so very excited, b/c she asked his sister (my bf) to be her maid of honor, and her brother asked her boyfriend (who was one of his childhood best friends) to be his best man. They are each only having one person, and this worked out because the brother's other best childhood friend is now a youth minister and will be marrying them!! So my best friend and I are so excited about planning her bridal shower and her bachelorette party. The three of us had been planning a girls only Key West trip for May (while the boys go fishing in the Carribbean), but it fell through, so this gives us something fun to plan!!!

phew!!!!! happy birthday

OK, so I know I just wrote about a novel, catching you guys all up, but I just had to come back and share the VERY great news I just received. I had called my best friend at about a quarter after 5 to wish her a happy birthday, but couldn't get ahold of her and left a message. She called back about quarter to 6 to thank me. She and her boyfriend were going to this restaurant to celebrate. I asked her (they were in the car driving there) if he had given her her birthday gift yet, and she said no, but would call me later to let me know. I just got off the phone with her, and her gift was an engagement ring and a wedding proposal!!!!!! I am so extremely excited. She is my best friend. Both she and her brother got engaged within a month's time. Now we have two weddings to be planning for!!!

My paper was on the influence of Multinational Corporations on US foreign economic policy.

:earseek: I don't think I could ever write a paper like that! Where do you start? Congrats on doing so well! :D

(I love giraffes),
Another giraffe lover here.

Happy Birthday! Glad you had such a special day!

And it sounds like soon it will be three!;)

I called workguy (who btw was still at work) as soon as I heard b/c I was soooo excited and he said to me...."looks like you will be next!" He also said that this was great that I was going to be so actively participating in these weddings, so I can get insider info on planning and find out some of my likes and dislikes, and what I want.

PW...is your resume done yet? Need to get it done today.
Wooooooo hoooooooo! I received my "reformatted" resume from the company I sent it to. A couple additions and revisions I can do. Proof it and print tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll have this out of here on Friday! Think I'll send it overnight mail to arrive on Monday just in case. Plus I like to have a signature that someone received it. Cross the fingers...still! Thanks!! :)

LOL! Nice try, no cigar. ;)

Hey, Disney! :wave2: Congrats on the 300 on your paper! :teeth: And Happy Birthday! :Pinkbounc Sounds like things are moving along. :teeth:

Disney: Congrats!!!! Hope to be hearing about your proposal soon. He sounds like a great catch. I bet you are on :cloud9: i know I would be. :bounce: Congrats on the paper.

PW: Thanks for the pixie dust. I need it right now. It's not the extended vaca that bothers me, it the fact I have only known him for like a month or two and we've only been talking for like a week or 2. Too fast for me.

liferiley: WELCOME TO THE SINGLES THREAD. Don't believe we have seen you around here before, and if we have, good to see you again. LOL

TB: Well the kiss thing is all me. I just wasn't ready yet. But that should've given him a hint right. Well I talked to him today, and now i can tell he is upset. He is hurt bu what else was I suppossed to do, if I'd have let it go longer it would have been worse right. I told him it's not that I don't want anything with him, i just can't move that fast.

Ok goodnight all.

I have to agree that the ones who move quick are frightening! I'm not ready that fast. And if they scare me enough about it, they're gone. I went out with one guy for a while. On our first date he held my hand the entire time we were in a store. I felt like a puppy being led around. Then before the end of the night he said those 3 little words! :scared: :scared: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Run!

OMG that is funny! I think I might have laughed in his face!! So it wasn't "true luv" PW?

Disney, glad things are going so well! :D

MDP, I think honesty is very important. Even if it hurts, he needs to know where you are at right now.

FM, I love it when you say you are crossing your toes. So cute!
