Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Break was too short.

I couldn't agree more. And it's been a busy week at work too.

Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? We are going hiking on Saturday at the Sam Houston National Forest. It will be good just to get outside for the day.

Legs, how are things with the house? And the guy? :smooth:

BB, your trip will be here before you know it! :flower:

I'm hoping the weather is better tomorrow so we can go to Busch Gardens. RAIN today! :( Why is it gorgeous all week and then rains on the weekends? :(

It is nice to have green grass again though.

Income tax nightmare...I'm missing two things I need. Ack! I'll be searching this weekend. If I don't find them, I'll be calling two places to have them fax info. I hate when I put things some place that I will remember, and then I don't! I have one place I've used for years. That spot was empty. :scratchin Where else would these things be?

Hi everyone! Sunday check in!

PW~Tell me about it! Early this week the weather was gorgeous, up to 74, which is really good for Ohio, and then Friday and Saturday: cold, rainy, snowy, yucky. :p

floridaminnie~How did the weekend trip go?

TB~How was the hike? I hope you had good weather!

Legs~Everyone is DYING to know how things are going with the guy!! :Pinkbounc

Okay, now for my news, he he. The date was yesterday, and it went well, although I wondered how it would go at first! Well, he came over a little later than I expected, around 6 or so, so we headed out to a new bookstore here and browsed a bit. Then we decided to get something to eat, and I told him about a deli downtown that I've never been to. So, we decided to go there, only to find out that it was already closed for the day! :confused3

So we improvised by going to a burger place that is like, legendary here in town, everyone that visits here must have a burger from this place. So, we get there and I parked in the parking lot, and I swear, I didn't know it, but there was a HUGE puddle on his side, and he stepped in it! :umbrella: It was the only puddle in the entire parking lot. :bitelip: Other than that, it went well, and it was near a coffeshop that we wanted to visit afterwards. They have live music on Saturday nights, and so I heard that we should be there by 7 or 7:30 for the 8 pm show. Well, we had passed this place around 7:15 or so, and it was empty. So, we had our burger and then went to the coffee shop. It was about 7:40 pm. So, we parked across the street and pressed the crosswalk button and waited for the signal. All vehicles were stopped at the light and the signal said to walk, so we started to cross. There was a truck in the turning lane, and he started to turn. He hit us! :earseek: And I don't think he realized he did, cuz he kept coming! I don't remember right now what happened, if we yelled at him, I think I did, or what, but then the guy realized that we were walking there! :sad2: He was an elderly man, and he tried to roll down his window but was really flustered. I waved him on to let him know we were okay, but actually, he had hit me on the elbow and it hurt really bad. Later on last night my upper arm/shoulder/neck started hurting, but I'm okay now.

So, we get to the coffee shop, and it was packed!! It was standing room only, but that was okay. The music was good. So, around 10:30ish we headed back to my apartment, and decided to watch a movie, :3dglasses The Incredibles, he he. So, yah, that was fun. He ended up hanging out until around 2 am. I felt really bad cuz he had to drive home 3 hours and I guess it was snowing where he lives! But he called round 5ish to let me know he was home okay.

Whew! I think this was a disaster first date, but it turned out well in the end. He's a really sweet, nice guy, and I was pleasantly surprised about how well the night turned out. We want to see each other again, so it all depends on schedules, etc., but a second date is definitely in the works! :teeth: I just hope the second date goes a lot smoother than the first!

Glad you had a good time, Bea...except for that crazy driver! Good luck finding a good time to meet again. :teeth:

 Well, we've talked, and we're getting together again next Saturday!

FM, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. :smooth:

BB, that sounds like a memorable first date!! Very good sign that you are excited to see him again!! I have such warm memories of the early dates with my honey. We talk about them quite frequently. On the night of our make-up dinner he even wore the shirt that he wore on our first date. :lovestruc I found that incredibly sweet. Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm just curious. I'm 34 - which almost seems unbelievable to me. I "met" my honey on match two years ago this month...which is another thing that almost seems unreal.

Sandy, did you make it to Busch Gardens?

We had so much fun hiking yesterday. Seeing the pics he took made me realize though that I need to lose weight again. :sad2: Its amazing (not in a good way!) how fast I can put on weight.

Today I helped a friend paint a hallway in her house. We ended up in the ER because she cut her hand with a saw. When she yelled for me, I was so happy to see that all five fingers were still attached. :bitelip:

OK, my weekly check-in is over. :earboy2: I hope everyone has a great week! :sunny:

Have fun, Bea! :)

TB...No, didn't get to Busch Gardens. Saturday was rain all day, yesterday was colder and windy. Yuck! What happened to our spring weather? I've heard of Indian Summer, but that's in the fall, not the spring! The heat is on again.

Glad you had a good hike. We did go for a drive to VA Beach on Saturday afternoon. It was gorgeous over there! Black clouds and rain by us, sun and a warm breeze in VA Beach. I was ready to move then!! :sunny:

TB~You met your honey on Match? I thought you met him on eHarmony? To answer your question, I'm 27. OMG! :earseek: I'm glad your friend is okay! How many stitches did she need to have?

PW~Sorry the trip to Busch Gardens didn't work out. I hope its :sunny: for you soon!! But the drive sounds like it was nice. :goodvibes

:wave2: Everyone have a great week!!

Yep, we met on match. She got 7 or 8 stitches - and I watched too!

Sandy, sorry the weather didn't improve. How far are you from Busch Gardens? Do you and your ds like coasters?

We are going shopping tonight. I am having the hardest time finding a dress for my cousin's wedding. I actually bought one and my honey didn't like it. Funny thing is, I showed it to my mom and she didn't like it either. :p

Hello, I'm back!

I love my new home! It feels so great to say that because I hated where I lived before. I feel like I'm on vacation here.
The movers moved all the stuff from storage on March 26. They opened the front door and said "it's all upstairs??!!" They were worth every penny. I gave them a good tip too. I thought they were going to keel over. It took me a while to find my TV remotes and my computer keyboard, mouse, and connecting cables. I had carried my CPU like a baby to my car, to where I was staying, back to my car, and into my new house. It's messed up. A lady at work is going to take it home for her IT husband to look at. There are photos on there that I don't want to lose. Well......good excuse to get a new computer!! I ordered my Dell on Friday and got it today. I love it! My old one was 5 yrs. old so I was thinking of getting a new one anyway. I will give the old one to dd if it gets working again.
The guy......hmmmm........
We've spoken a couple times and he's said some things that make me go hmmmmmm. And one thing I found out the meaning of today that makes me furious!!! He's definitely not someone I want to go out with. Oh well, back to eHarmony.

Thanks, Bea...and TB. :) I hope next weekend's weather is better. We're no more than 15 minutes from BG. DS likes coasters, not me. Ha! ;)

So glad you love your new home, Legs! :teeth: ;) Movers make a lot of difference, don't they? I don't think I could ever move without one. I'd procrastinate more than anything.

Good thing you found out about the guy now as opposed to after more time went by!

Legs, I am so happy to hear you love you new home!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :flower: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

BB, you are seeing him again on Saturday? Any fun plans?

Legs~Congratulations, I'm glad you like your new home! Sorry bout the guy, but I'm sure you're glad you found out now rather than later. :grouphug:

PW~That's cool that you live so close to BG. We have an amusement park here in Ohio~Cedar Point~but it's about 1 1/2 hours from me.

TB~We're just gonna hang out here at the house cuz I don't have anyone to watch my daughter for me so I can go out. He's going to come over after she's asleep, cuz I'm not ready to introduce her to anyone that I'm just dating. He doesn't mind. We're gonna have pizza and popcorn and watch movies, he he.

I have to say being close to BG is a good thing. :teeth:

Bea...I hear you on staying home! :( Sorry about that. Friends tell me I need to go out and be involved in things to meet someone. Okay...and have who stay with DS? :( He's at school all day, with a sitter for most of the time after until I'm home from work...less than thrilled with her sending him home too many evenings before I'm home. Just don't feel right trying to get out socially a night or two a week. :(  Have I covered it? Insert flaming smilie.

I had a good guy chatting online. He's dropped off the face of the earth. :( Don't get these people. Things sound encouraging, and then they vanish. :(

Easy come easy go PW

Legs so happy that you are moved in and enjoy your new place!

Easy come easy go. I'll have to remember that one.

How's it going, Suzanne? Happy with DBF? How's Brianna? :)

Happy with him...nope not right now...love him for sure...going to keep him...who knows right now

Brianna is doing wonderfully. She has Standford testing this coming up week. Testing so soon! She's only in Kindergarten!

Glad things are going well with DBF. Uh...except right at this moment. Happy Bri is great! :) Richard has standardized tests this coming week also. After his recent report card, I wonder what he learned this past quarter. The hormones kicking in is getting him in trouble in more than just one aspect of his life. Ugh. He will be 12 on Tuesday. I'll tell you, I am SHOCKED at what he finds on the internet. He's now been reduced to using it only when I'm in the room.

I'm soooooooooooooooooo tired of no companionship lately. No fun at all.
