Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Just got back from the funeral mass. I sat in the back with dd and a friend of the family. It was a nice service. All of the family was up front. Didn't see anyone with XH. After the service dd says "oh look, there's Jen!" (XH's gf) Oh whoopee! I'm so glad she's here!
I had XH take dd to the cemetary with him and I left and came home. He had taken his car seat out so he had to use mine! I had about all I could take. Plus I had given my respects to all the family.

You have me rolling on the floor over here!!! That's toooooooooooooooooooooooo funny!!!

Ha ha! That was my response too. As one of my friends said, "How are you picking these guys?". Next time I will let the love calculator be my guide. :smooth: :earboy2:

 Hugs for you, Legs! You did great! You got to pay your respects and left when you needed to leave.

I am thinking of giving e-harmony a try. I'm wondering if I can take the personality test but not turn on my profile. Not quite ready for that. For those of you who tried it, when did you allow your picture to be shown?

I signed up for eharmony once. It took about 2 hours to fill out the profile. It was such a pain! When I got to the end, it had a marital status option. I clicked on "separated" since I wasn't divorced yet. And it said that I can't fill it out and to try again later. I lost all my info! That really bugged me. :)

Okay, my vent for the day, lol.

Thanks guys! I had a glass of wine when I got home.

TB- I let guys see my photo right away since they are so visual.

Hi Disney Addict.
I am glad that eHarmony won't allow separated people to put a profile online. I personally don't want to start a relationship with someone who isn't divorced yet. But I would like to see them state that at the beginning instead of at the end of hundreds of questions!

Seriously! I had my court date set and was about a month away from getting divorced. I should have just clicked "divorced" anyway, lol. Some people lie even then. I guess I'm just too honest. ;)

TB... :scratchin I'm going to have to check now. It's either after the questions going back and forth or on a case by case basis. I'll have to look. I am corresponding with someone now. Guess it would be nice if he could see the pic. LOL! "Carey"...what is it with the names!? Where's John, Joe, and Richard? But he's a police officer. ;) :teeth: LOL!

Hi, DA! :wave2: I have to agree with Legs on the separated ones. Whatever you do, don't go to militaryfriends.com unless you want really "loose" relationships. LOL!

DA, how totally frustrating!! Why don't they just say that upfront?

I am definitely finding the personality profile interesting. It very well may be a valid self-report instrument of personality. Now as to whether compatibility can be predicted - that is another thing. I definitely do not think physical chemistry can be predicted. I guess in that respect women have it a little easier - since for many women it seems like physical chemistry grows as you get to know a man & like him.

Sandy, I don't think Carey is a bad name. And he is a police officer! :) I ended up signing up - I'm just so interested to see how the process works. I have 7 days to cancel. I'm corresponding with a guy who is a "private investor & martial artist". He is only 30. Color me confused, but how did a 30 year-old come by enough money to be a private investor?? He did say that he wants to open a martial arts school. This is just interesting. I know I am not ready - so why is this so intriguing to me???

Oh, I also decided to join the Outdoors group now. I signed up for horseback riding on the 15th. I think I just have too much time on my hands. I'll be back at work on Monday.

I'm with you, TB, as far as having too much time. Yikes! I've had months of too much time. I recently sent out 2 apps and have heard nothing. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Called one on Monday and left a message on someone's voice mail just to make sure they received it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...no call back yet. If I don't hear tomorrow morning, I'll call again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Ah, well...eharmony is fun even if you're not specifically looking. :) Some interesting people on there, some characters also. You can weed them out easily. Oh! I checked my settings and I do have it set to show the pic after the closed ended questions are done. Just before the must haves/can't stands I think. I need to find out where this town is that the guy lives in. It can't be too far away, but I'm clueless on it. Haven't come across it anywhere in my travels. Hope you have fun with it, TB!

TB- Have fun with eHarmony! The guy may have inherited money. I put mine on hold until all this moving stuff is over. I love horseback riding. I haven't done much of it but I love it. Speaking of horses, my favorite scene driving to work in the mornings is them running groups of polo ponies in the field. Beautiful! I do admire you for moving on so quickly after the split with your bf. I, however, can't stop thinking of my XH and his gf. How different she is from me. I can't handle seeing him with someone else. I think I still have regrets about divorcing him and afterwards not getting back together with him. Is it possible to still be greiving after all this time? Sometimes I feel like I'll never get over this. I hope moving away helps. Someone at the funeral asked if I had remarried. I said no way, I have no interest at all.

I am supposed to move today. But U-Haul screwed up. I was supposed to get the truck yesterday so it is ready to load early this morning. Instead, I don't know what time I can get the truck today. And my helpers are showing up early this morning! I am tired of being stressed!

I actually woke up this morning and just new I wasn't ready. So, I put the one guy on hold and turned off my profile.

I think it is very possible, probable even, that you are still grieving. If you are ready to address it, I would encourage your to consider getting Mars and Venus Starting Over. I have read it twice & done some of the exercises - it really has helped. He describes the four healing emotions that you need to experience fully to grieve: anger, sadness, fear, & sorrow. He also describes seven negative attitudes that are a "flashing neon sign pointing to the direction of the pain we are ignoring...They are clear indications that we are in need of healing". The negative attitudes are resentment, blame, indifference, guilt, insecurity, hopeless, and jealousy & envy. I consider myself quite lucky that I don't really have any of the negative emotional states (I just have experienced almost unbearable feelings of sadness & sorrow). I truly do wish you the best. :grouphug:

Legs...Sorry for the mess up with U-Haul. :( That has to be stressful when everyone is set to go! Delays don't help!! I hope your move is a good one for you. I can tell you that my move was a great thing...where is that job???? :) (Just read in today's paper that the unemployment rate here is the lowest since April. Ack! Not good when you're job hunting!!)

TigerBear...Wow! That was fast! But at least you recognize that in yourself. It all takes time.

Legs, I hope your move actually ends up going smoothly!

I just signed up to go rollerblading on the 9th! :D This outdoors group does a lot of indoor things too (like a brunch) but it feels too wierd to me to go to something like that alone. If it is activity based it doesn't feel like it would be quite so awkward. I'm actually proud of myself for doing this - it'is not easy going somewhere social where you don't know a soul. I'm sure it will be easier once I get to know some people.

CM, I just wanted to let you know I am thinking about you. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Anyone have any fun plans tonight? I am going to a party given by a friend of a friend. I've only met this woman once but she is very interesting - a trustfund baby. I can't wait to see what her friends are like. :earboy2:

Its a brand new year tomorrow! :flower1: :D :flower1:

Bri went off to her father's last night, so watching tv tonight. doing a cleaning frenzy today. I took EVERYTHING out of Brianna's room. Getting rid of stuff and cleaning everything really well. Going to get a new computer desk tonight to put together. This one is too old and too big.

Yes it is a new year tomorrow and may this be a good year for everyone!
