My favorite Xmas gift was from my mom- it's a right hand ring. Silver band with mother of pearl insets.

I got home yesterday. XH came over and got everything down out of the attic for me. Some of the stuff was his. I have to take the tree down today.

Legs...your ring sounds so pretty! Sounds like a nice gift to receive from your mom. One year my dad gave me a pair of coal earrings, smooth and shiny. I think I've only worn them a couple times, but I do still have them tucked away. He grew up in PA in the coal mining region, and my grandfather was a coal miner way back there. So they do have special meaning for me. And I just LOVE some of my mom's jewelry. Nothing expensive, but pretty, and they make me think of her.

I have good news. Brianna's father didn't pick her up Monday nor will he pick her up today. The earliest he'll pick her up now is Thursday at midday. So just a longer "weekend" for her. We ended up going to Epcot last night. Boy were they busy. DD rod Mission to Space. I think I've created a monster.

FLM- That's good for you that you won't be without her for too long. It's bad for her if she was expecting her dad to get her on Monday. Did it bother her at all?
My dd loves Mission Space but her old mom can't handle it! (insert barfing smilie here)
How long does it take you to get to Disney?

He's not really part of her life at all, so it wasn't a big thing for her. Which is very good in that aspect, but also very sad.

It takes us about an hour to get to disney. We were going to MK, but for the first time ever I saw full on the sign for MK as we drove in. So we went to Epcot instead and had a blast.

That's good that Brianna won't be away so long. Glad you had such a great time at Epcot. You created a monster? LOLOL! Boy, can I relate to that one.

I got pictures back today! I'll have to post a couple on a separate thread. There's definitely one of DS I'm going to have enlarged. And it's a good thing I get double prints. After I copied it into the computer, it must have slipped off the desk somehow. I found the puppy chewing on it! At least there's one good one in the box. Want to see some SNOW?

I had a revelation in the middle of the night last night. I think the purpose of my last relationship was to learn that what I really need in my life is a "nice guy". My ex-bf even said to me, "Part of my decision was that you don't have much experience with men. There are many men out there that are much nicer than me". Both my ex-h and me ex-bf are fundamentally selfish people. I need a guy who gladly puts my needs first at times (which is funny because I had a close male friend tell me these exact words after my ex-h left).

My problem? I have never been attracted to "nice guys". They have never held any intrigue for me. But where has it got me?

Can anyone relate? Now that I fully realize it, how do I overcome it? Maybe I should just follow Dr. Gray's advice for women, "Date around, but don't sleep around".

Edited to add: And please don't laugh at me that I am psychologist and almost 34 years old and am now just figuring this out.

Legs...Thank you!! He's certainly grown. This past summer he was 5'6". I'm 5'8" so he's getting close! The van is FILTHY so I must be having a good time driving in it. LOL! This morning DS had some fun knocking down icesicles hanging off the edge of the roof. We're up to 43 degrees today, so it looks like the great melt is on.

TigerBear...Men! Who can figure them out? It's good you can learn things from a relationship. Some people go through them and don't learn a thing.

I must have been really bored last night. I went to google and put in the word "love." Ha! Funny what comes up. There was one site where you type in your name and the other person's name. (Of course this is in fun.) It comes up with a percentage of how compatible you would be. Ha ha ha ha ha!! It made me stop and think any way. DH and I were a whopping 65%. Well, that explains a lot. Tried another person and came up with 89%! LOLOL!!!
