There was a woman in front of me at the service desk at Sam's Club trying to return a poinsettia plant she bought in early December for $19.99. The same poinsettia plant is now selling for 91 cents. Well, she brought the plant in and said she wanted to return it and rebuy it for 91 cents. They told her she could not do that, so then she said "Well, then I'll just return it altogether". The clerk said they couldn't take it back, and the woman pointed to the sign that says you have 90 days to return merchandise. The clerk said that doesn't apply to live plant materials. The woman said that it doesn't state that on the sign. They went 'round and 'round on this with me waiting (not so) patiently in line. Finally a manager came and reluctantly returned her money.
I think that the woman had a lot of nerve returning the plant. That's like putting up Christmas lights for the season and returning them after Christmas. To me, I consider the plant "used", even thought you can't technically use a plant. A couple of other people in line thought she had the right to return the plant of she wanted to.
