Ok, what are some DON'T restaurants...not even if they paid you!

I was just wondering if anyone mentioned your bad experiences to the restaurant mangager and what the response was. I'm wondering how WDW restaurants handle complaints.

The meal wasn't that bad but I wouldn't return to the restaurant in France. The lobster bisque was yuck and I don't know how you can mess up a Salad Niscoise. Yea, maybe it was that bad. The ABC commisionary in MGM wasn't my favorite either.

Worst food: Chef Mickey's

Worst Value: Coral Reef

Worst Service: Yachtsmans Steak House

We did not at the Coral Reef. We'd been there before and knew we weren't fond of it but wanted to eat there for the ambience. We did have a particularly awful meat at a buffet breakfast at the Yacht Club ( I can't for the life of me recall the name of the restaurant!). I didn't want to waste time or put myself in a bad mood complaining while we were there. When we got home, I wrote Disney about the meal along with another complaint I had. Someone from Disney called a few weeks later. She did say that she would suggest next time talking to the manager as they would have been happy to refund our money at the time had we complained. She was extremely pleasant and a week or so after the call I received a very nice letter and $50 in Disney dollars. I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with their response.

Chef Mickeys - Poor quality

San Angel Inn -- Tacos are consistent with Taco Bell

Boma -- Just not my type of food

I'm starting the barbecue...LOL!! For us, it would have to be Victoria and Albert's. Threehearts

Planet Hollywood - yucky food, rude waiters, cool atmosphere - go for drinks. (Been there twice in past 2 years - I always give a place another chance.)

Rainforest Cafe - yucky food - ribs were incredibly tough and couldn't even be cut off the bone. Waiters nice, atmosphere nice - go for drinks/dessert. (Been twice in past 2 years.)

Don't go knockin' Boma now... we might have to step outside... LOL... Boma=my favorite restaurant on property for any meal. Always good, lots of choices. Great drinks, prime rib to die for. Yum.

The only restaurant I can think of that I'd never go back to is Whispering Canyon Cafe; at least, not for dinner. I might try breakfast.

Oh, add the Garden Grille, in the Land pavilion. For the same reason as WCC- that skillet of overcooked, drab food. Yuck.

I will say that WCC had a great chocolate milkshake. Maybe I"d go and just get that.

The only way a list like this is useful is if you see the same restaurant mentioned over and over again (anyone looking forward to trying Planet Hollywood?) Then, compare with a list of people's favorite restaurants. If it's not showing up there, and it's repeatedly mentioned as a least favorite, then the choice is obvious.

Some restaurants, though, like Coral Reef, San Angel Inn, a couple others, will show up alot on both kinds of lists, because people's expectations are so different.

You should never discount a restaurant because you see one or two people complain about it.

Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner! food---yuck!!! Had an over the top server that made the dinner less than wonderful... and it was just plain TOO LOUD!!!!

The worst place we've had dinner was at Planet Hollywood. The food just plain sucks! It was the "touristy" thing to do at the time. I also want to chime in that someone had said the food at Bongos was bad. I would have to disagree. My FW and I thought the food was delicious. We can't wait to go back! We all have our opinions. :smooth:

My bottom 3 are:

ESPN Club -- bad food, worse service. Good beer & TVs in the bathrooms.

Chef Mickey's Breakfast -- cold, yucky food. Expensive. Characters OK, but rushed as always at this restaurant.

Le Cellier -- The food was OK, but not great. There are better steaks other places. The service was awful from waiting 45 minutes+ for our PS with a toddler (and no mention that the wait might be that long) to our lackluster waiter who forgot half my order.

Alfredo's and Fulton's...truly horrible service, mediocre food.

We won't be back to Primetime...didn't enjoy the food and my DH hates the "act." We'll never try WCC because of the highjinks....but of course, that's just us.

NEVER AGAIN:

Planet Hollywood
Rainforest Cafe
ESPN

My kids LOVE these restaurants, so we just have drinks or dessert- but never waste our money on dinner here.

FOOD NOT WORTH WHAT YOU PAY:

Coral Reef - very expensive, and we didn't feel like it was OK to just order dessert or appetizers to enjoy the atmosphere because the waitstaff are so formal.

For me, that would have to be a tie, between Fulton's @ DD, and the Poly Luau!! As someone else said, I think I'd dumpster dive before eating at either one of these again!

Oh, I forgot Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner.... yawn... boring, tasteless food... and lackluster service. Characters were good, however!

When we were at WDW in 2002 we ate at the Whispering Canyon and had the worst meals ever. We tried it twice to make sure it wasn't just a bad night, it wasn't.

This trip, Oct 2002, we had the worst meal , but the best service, at the Brown Derby at MGM

I would never go back to either place

Eeyore 1954...thanks alot. I'm sure that if I try hard enough (and don't read these "worst restaurants" threads) I can forget the name of that place again.

I noticed that I'm not alone in my choices!

Mama Melrose--two strikes and it is out forever! Horrid food and service.

'Ohana--completely charred meat that's rare inside is not my cup of tea. The style of the M.C. that night (and her purring voice saying," Just hang loose!") are something I NEVER want to experience again! I do not pay to be tortured-- thank you very much!

My very shy 15 year old boy was dragged into a shotgun marriage at WCC where he had to be married and sit with the "bride" (21 years old) and she had to sit with us to eat. Everyone in the restaurant laughed and joked about the whole thing, much to his dismay. He has made us promise to never eat there again. His sentiments combined with a lousy skillet will keep us from doing dinner there. We enjoyed there lunch with sandwiches and salads and quieter antics.
