Ok, what are some DON'T restaurants...not even if they paid you!

I agree with danny 1649. Alfredo's is the worst restaurant ever. Not just at WDW, but anywhere on the planet.

Here's a tip: if you ever find yourself at Alfredo's, cut your tongue out before the food arrives.

All American BBQ at Fort Wilderness was the worst meal we have ever had at WDW. I am getting nauseous just thinking about it now, 2 years later! Thinks flies, old burnt meat and soggy buns, and a hefty bill. YUCK - YUCK - YUCK

Planet Hollywood! Worst meal I ever had and I was sick that night and the next day. Never again!

Oh my gosh! Thanks for this thread....
We are headed to WDW in December and Thank God...we are not eating in any of these.
Made Ps's at other places. Thank you, thank you....
I will take this "Do not eat here" list with us.

Lisajl and family

Fultons - major yuk (and I love seafood) DH won't go back to dinner at Chef Mickey's.

Alfredos gets our number one vote here...terrible food, slow service and rude waiter.

Second in line is Chef Mickeys....I know so many rave on it, but the food was so so, we were squished in a small table next to a loud group even though we had our ressies for months, and we were totally ignored by the characters as we were two adults with no kids. Will never return there again either...

Planet Holleywood. Yuck. Period.

Coral Reef- the atmosphere is great. I would ALMOST pay the horrible prices just to sit there and watch the fish. When we were there, the entrees were bland & covered in suspicious looking sauces. Had to look really hard to find the seafood on the plate. Service was very rushed--really wanted us in & out quickly. Desserts are great though, so you might consider hitting it in the middle of the afternoon for dessert only.

lisajl, keep in mind that what one person hates is another persons "best meal I've ever had."

(Although some restuarants do come up over and over again).

Can I ask a favor in these threads? - post the last time you ate there. I had lousy food at both Alfredo's and Nine Dragons (and overpriced not very good food at Coral Reef) around 1990. While I'm not in any hurry to head back to any of these places, they might have improved in twelve years.

Mr Pirate, we finally disagree.

My must nots are Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe and Hollywood and Vine Breakfast.

As she said, keep in mind that what one loves, others may not! We just returned from WDW (Oct 16-26). Had breakfast at Chef Mickeys and had no complaints about the food...lots of variety and it was nice and warm as long as you didn't wander the buffet too long! Character interaction was great, and our waitress, Debby, was very nice!

We had dinner at Hollywood and Vine and it was one of our best meals. They offered pork with a sweet and sour glaze, herbed turkey, prime rib (good and tasty for buffet style, though not what you would get if you ordered as a meal at a restaurant), and chicken. Many side, and potato choices too, as well as kids favorites.

Our meal at Rose and Crown was also very nice. We also really liked the fast food at the Columbia Harbor House in MK. Cosmic Ray's and the fast food restaurant at Am. Adv. were nothing to write home about, but neither is McD or BK!

Some closing thoughts: Don't let other's experience be yours...make your own decisions...remember the saying, if you go out in the world looking for the bad, you will, likely, find it. I have shared this in a past post, but on a different post board, someone wrote that she loved the San Angel at Mexico because of the romantic lighting, the cool air after being in the hot sun all day, and the river running in front of the restaurant. Next poster wrote that they hated it as it was dark, cold, and damp! You just can't please everyone. (We loved San Angel when we ate there in late '99!)

I hope you enjoy your trip...we went into ours joyfully expecting the best, and that's exactly what we got!

Shula's...Overpriced, poor service and suspicious clientele...;)
  :bounce:

     You're wrong about everything but the clientele.

ooohhh.............how could i forget about planet hollywood--major yuck. and capt. jacks at DTD--ohmygosh! they are proud of their yuck-o food. and ther service was S L O W!!:p

A few we would not return to, unless desperate and/or someone else was buying ;) would be CA Grille and Mama Melrose's. Not so much because of the food because what we experienced in lack of good service, too little variety, over priced (value -- what's that?).
The worse food (edible, but nothing worth mentioning -- at all) and unpleasant atmosphere: Pecos Bills and Tusker House. We would have to really be desperate to go to either of these again.
But I know others here have raved on each of these I listed. So it's just personal taste and good timing on their parts. ;)

We had never tried SciFi because of the many bad reviews, but we went in June anyway. We all loved our food!

We hated Cinderella's in March. The food was horrible. It took over 45 minutes for even 1 princess to get to our table. Everyone in our section was complaining. Kids were crying because they thought they weren't going to see the princesses. It was terrible. We had eaten there about 3 times before. We won't be going back

We didn't have anything horrible.

However, you couldn't pay me to return to Liberty Tree Tavern. We found the selection to be limited, and the food to be very blah!

Chef Mickey's food was just "okay". If it weren't for the terrific character interaction we wouldn't go back. However, since the characters were so wonderful, we will definitely go back our next trip.

My favorite was San Angel Inn! I've got it planned as our first meal when we return next year!

Teresa

How could I have forgotten Planet Hollywood? Guess I'm repressing memories from that lousy meal. My other never again is Bongos. Gloria Estephan should stick to music and leave the substandard food service to PH.

BTW - I don't give a rip about the bad review Sci-Fi gets, because it gets as many good ones. We're looking forward to trying it along with LTT.

My votes are
1) Crystal Palace Dinner Buffet. It did taste good going down, but what ever I got from that buffet left me missing 2 days of our vacation! I did get out of bed to travel to the toilet in our room (even tried to go to Epcot...made it to the toilets in Morroco...)and it left me not wanting to taste salmon heated from a lamp ever again.

2)Marrakesh. Just bad. We wanted to try it. We did. We'll never go back. Our table was ignored shortly after an "important" table of guests arrived. No joke, they at least 4 waiters working their table of 6. Ours was one of them. At least we got the check.

We've had a less than pleasant lunch at Sci-Fi, but I would certainly go back to give it another try...especially if they paid me;)

But I am shocked at those who put the Coral Reef on the list! But, to each their own...we love it:D

Pirate: Suspicious clientele at Shula's?? I resemble that remark!!!

Can honestly say I never had a truly bad meal (food-wise) at WDW. But there are 2 places I'd never willingly return to--Whispering Canyon and the childish antics of the staff, and Fulton's where poor service is the name of the game.
