Okay - so my trip isn't until March. We've been twice now to the Fort using Magic Bands and thrown them away each time.

But now that this abomination of technology looks like it will be staying, I decided to get MB's that were "us" and not get a set each trip.

I got a Patriotic Mickey.

DW got a Donald Duck. (she's spunky that way)

DD got a Minnie Mouse polka dot.

These will be our MB for trips in the future. You can pick out yours at http://www.disneystore.com/magicband/mn/1024701/

I like!! A lot! Perhaps I should invest for the family. Thanks for the link. Going there now ::yes::

We kept ours from our visit during the Halloween test period of 2013. We got another set this Halloween and we just got a third set in for our annual passes. I was hoping the last ones would be different but they only have the slip on tag that says Passholder. We will probably refuse bands on our two trips scheduled next year. I like your bands Ed. We checked out the custom printed ones at Space Mountain. They are nice for the price around $30.00.

We did the same thing. I have Figment and my fiance has a Kylo Ryn one. We also have Elsa and Big Hero 6 and I have Yoda.

Dang, tltay2005, those look pretty good!

Flametamr, I read the DIS article on those available at Space Mountain. But that meant I would have had to gotten another regular set and then swap out for the SM set. I just decided to use these from the get-go.

The Space Mountain ones are all new from what I can tell. They only listed the prices like $19.99 for one with an image. Then one with an image and your name was $29.99. I didn't see anything about providing you own band or trading one in.

Looking at my basic Blue Band from November 2014, I like what tltay2005 did. Just filling in Mickey's head with a sharpie made it look like a whole new band!

Awesome Idea.

I still use the base bands but we are toying with home craft or the magicbandits for the kids on the august trip.

1) We have the "standard" gray bands.
2) I prefer to call them "stylist charcoal".
3) I can't see a reason to get different ones. *

* So I also can't see "trading pins", either. Sorry, just old fashioned (Alright, rather just plain OLD).

Well I feel like a FP+/MDE expert now (and I don't like how it feels :( ).

My parents are going to be down at WDW for a portion of our trip in March so I bought them Magic Bands from The Disney Store for Christmas and set up their own MDE account and linked said bands (Goofy for Dad, Minnie for Mom).

Then we linked our MDE accounts together to help with some of the pre-planning as outlined on the Disney website. After a call to Tech Support over the weekend and another tonight, it finally looks all correct.

I have several dining reservations on there for flexibility and soon (11 days) I can make FP+ reservations. I am leaning toward minimal FP+ reservations since, heck, been there and done it for the most part.

I have gone into MDE and declined the MagicBands that were assigned for this upcoming trip.

I long for the simple days of one theme park and no reservations for dining or rides. Life was simpler then.:snail:

Counting them down! Bama Ed

Okay so now I feel like a hoarder. As I posted before we went during the test phase two years ago and got color bands. We went this past Halloween and ordered our second set. Well I was able to book an extra day but it was separate reservation and the CM didn't seem to want to link the two so just for fun I ordered the wife and I a third color. We were the only ones listed on that one day. So new years day we rented points and booked one night at the Beach club. It was within the 30 day window so I didn't get a chance to decline the bands. When we checked in they had made up grey ones for us. So basically I now have a pile of bands and I have two more trips booked this year. I will definitely be declining any more bands.

But now you should have one of each color and can coordinate with what you are wearing for the day.

Perhaps some creativity is in order...a few people have found ways to put them to use...lol.....or link them together for a decorative chain! :D

We currently have 8 of them. Funny you should mention that Jimmy, we were thinking of ideas to use them for some kind of decoration to keep in the camper.

We have Annual Passes and have only received the AP slide once, two years ago. It seems like we get hounded to order new MBs with each unpcoming reservation. On the My Disney Experience page there are at least eight red messages on the top regarding MBs (which we can't seem to delete). Seems like a huge waste of money and resources on Disney's part. Even the way they are packaged and shipped is extravagant. We have kept one set for over a year now and just have them linked when we check in at the Fort. Don't get me wrong, we love the Magic Bands and don't understand why some still insist on pulling out a card for everything, but to each his own!

Love the Sharpie bands!
