I'm thinking of going to Homecoming instead of Ohana for an upcoming trip. Am I crazy? I’ve gone to Ohana the past two trips and loved it. And I’m not worried about the recent reviews. But last time we didn’t have time to go to Homecoming and we really wanted to try it. Plus I think it would be an excellent use of a credit considering the dessert and the drinks. I’m still looking for an adr for homecoming on a different night, but they seem to be booked except for very late times.

What do you all think?

And does anyone have experience getting seated at the bar at Homecomin? There’s just two of us. Can we use our credits there?

You've been to 'Ohana several times and want a new experience therefore go to Homecomin';).
I see nothing on Disney's website that says the bar at Homecomin' isn't eligible for the dining plan but there are reviews at this forum that could better say. Do a forum search for better info:).

It's been a while, but we ate at the bar at Homecomin' and were asked if we were on DDP. I can't confirm if this is the current policy, but if the restaurant is listed that it's participating in DDP, I would think they are still letting people use DDP credits white sitting at the bar.

Thanks for the input all. I think I might just call and ask if I can use my credits at the bar. I would love to be able to do both. And I am using the touring plans are finder in the mean time.

Since you’ve done Ohana try Homecomin’-sit outside on the screened in porch-the chicken thigh sliders are amazing but easily enough for two.

It is supposed to be A M A Z I N G fried chicken though...

I know I'm no help, because I was lucky enough to grab OHANA for our kickoff dinner after our MK 1st day, and also grab Homecoming midweek as well....I don't think you can go wrong with either TBH

We pay OOP and I would still rather go to Ohana's. You get a lot of courses with Ohana and a great desserts. We like Homecoming but you get a few pieces of chicken and some mashed potatoes. It's good but nothing that compares to Ohana, IMO.

Sorry but the food quality at Ohana is NOT good at all. Slimy wings, dry meat, dry potstickers. Yuck. And for the price they charge, no thanks. Definitely not worth it. I'd definitely switch to Homecomin'. There's really no comparison between the two. I understand the appeal of ohana...its the quantity of food that appeals to people. But for me, im more about quality, not quantity.

You've already been to Ohana a couple of times, i'd try something new.

All the comments are like the dialogue going on in my head, lol. Homecomin sounds so good. I keep hearing how good those chicken biscuits are! But I really want to try the Mac and cheese and desserts.

Homecoming is fantastic. It is WAY better than Ohana in every way. We are going back on the 4th of July for the third time. The service is amazing, the drinks are amazing, the food is amazing. Seriously. I mean, I love Ohana too, but there is no comparison. Homecoming is a far better overall dining experience.

Even though I've never been to Homecomin (our last trip was in 2015) we do have a reservation for it this August. We also have a reservation for Ohana on our arrival day as it is our tradition but if I had to choose I would go with Homecomin! The dining reviews on Youtube were enough to get me to change our reservation from The Edison.

We ate at Homecomin on Tuesday. It is AMAZING!!! Everything tastes good..omg.. Having said that we have ressies for both places on our upcoming August trip. Homecomin for lunch and brunch and Ohana for dinner.

I think between the two of us we’ll get to try a little bit if everything. Can’t wait to try the moonshine cake!

I wish I could say all the fantastic things about how great Homecomin is, but I can't. My husband and I ate there in March for our anniversary with much anticipation of a great meal. I don't know if it was a "bad" day at Homecomin, but we were underwhelmed. The chicken was just okay, nothing spectacular as all the reviews claimed It was okay. The mashed potatoes were awful! They were so watery that you could eat them with a spoon like soup, and they had a spice in them that neither of us liked. The hush puppies were just okay, but I am from the South and know what good hush puppies taste like. They, also, had a strange spice in them.
So, given our one not so great experience, I would recommend staying with O'hana's, as you know you will get a meal that you like.
