Ohana or Homecomin?

Ohana for us easily. Not much for the pot roast and meatloaf type of items at Homecomin. I'm a south-westerner! Homecomin is rather bland for our tastes but I know many love it.

We chose Homecomin' over Ohana for our upcoming trip as well...now I'm a little nervous after reding some responses. I'm sticking with it though and hoping for a good experience. We've done Ohana many many times and we had gotten to the point where we prefer Kona Cafe...so it may be the right choice for us to change it up a bit.

We love Kona as well. We usually go to both Ohana and Kona each visit.

Amazing fried chicken coupled with Mama's Mac n Cheese or 'Ohana? Go with Homecomin'.

WDW is something we can do only once every few years. It's a long ways out of my way to get there. Not going to go out of my way for fried chicken and Mac & Cheese! Now if I must, Knotts Berry Farm near Disneyland has awesome fried chicken thats closer to me but still, when I go to Disney I want a more unique experience I can't get at home. We don't have anything like Ohana's in my home town. Closest would be a Brazillian steakhouse like Fogo de Chao.

Homecoming is fantastic. It is WAY better than Ohana in every way. We are going back on the 4th of July for the third time. The service is amazing, the drinks are amazing, the food is amazing. Seriously. I mean, I love Ohana too, but there is no comparison. Homecoming is a far better overall dining experience.
I'm going to Homecomin' on the 4th of July, too!

We were the same until our last trip when we weren't on the DDP and couldn't justify the high cost of 'Ohana. So we just did Kona and ordered the bread pudding for dessert.

You couldn't pay me to go back to Ohana...but Homecomin' is the stuff of dreams. So so good. Homecomin' for the win.

I agree, Knott’s has great fried chicken. We are doing both Homecomin (my husband loves fried chicken and we are from Canada so it can be hard to get) and Ohana, but if I had to pick one it would be Ohana although it can be inconsistent.

I can get that Popeyes right now. In fact think I will. Thanks for the tip.
Popeyes? Um, no. Sorry but you cannot compare the two.

Ohana a unique experience? You said it yourself, its like a brazilian steakhouse. And im sorry but the quality of food they serve at Ohana is not good. Esp considering what they charge! No thanks. There's zero comparison between the two in my opinion.

Yes indeed. :)

Brazilian steakhouses in my area are difficult to find. The atmosphere at Ohana's and many other Disney restaurants is unique compared to what I have at home. As for quality of food I've always found it very good at Ohana. I realize many have not but the EXACT same thing can be said about most ANY restaurant at Disney. None of them have food I would describe as incredible, WOW etc!! For any restaurant at Disney I can find better food at home or in nearly any major city. But thats not why I go to Disney and the restaurants there.

So I gotta ask, why would you dine at any Disney restaurant? You can always find better food off site easily.

Nothing on the menu that wow's me at Homecomin'. Nothing unique. But then, I'm from the southwest where foods are bold and flavorful so thats why I find so many foods in the south and midwest to be bland. That said, I love good fried chicken but not enough to go all the way to Disney to get!!

I thought that too...until I ate there. Here in the south, fried chicken is plentiful. But nothing like the fried chicken at Homecoming. It was unlike any I've had before. And the apps and sides...just wow.

O'hana had become a family favorite of ours a number of years ago when we went during free dining. We returned there 2 weeks ago, this time paying out of pocket, and we also went to Homecomin'. While the food and service was good at O'hana, I would not return again paying out of pocket. For the amount we ate, it was not worth the price, for us. Homecomin' was good and I we all enjoyed it. Both places honored our reservation time, accommodated my very picky eater and had very attentive service. If you go to Homecomin', make sure you get the cheese and bacon on your mashed potato.....so good!

If you wouldn't mind, what is the price of O'Hana for dinner. I saw on My Disney Experience a price range of $35 - $59. My group is trying to decide if we want to go there our first night or night. Most have said they would do $40, but probably not $60. We're going in Jan

Thanks for any info
