Oh what a horrible trip!!!! Now for something completely different-Final blast ......

What a nice relaxing afternoon followed by some spectacular fireworks! I'm glad the natural fireworks did not interfere with the holiday show!

Really amazing pictures of the fireworks! Watching from the Poly beach was not a horrible idea at all!

Stealing towels, sneaking through buildings where you don't belong...for shame! Bad Pat!

Oh, wait, the fireworks are awesome! Never mind. All is forgiven. ;)

enjoyed the update...you were spot on with the hidden mickeys again, did you have the book with you? or just used your eyes to look for them and find them on your own?

You and your tumble monkey...........again???? :rolleyes1
well she stalked him for years so im guessing he was just returning the favor.:thumbsup2

So many great fireworks pictures...............feels almost like being there!

Without the booms of course............ :rotfl:

and the music:music:

and we dont have to fight with foodball type crowds after it is over:thumbsup2

Lookit you, talking your way past cast members and sneaking into a longhouse. :tiptoe: I'm sure FauntleroyFan07 is proud, it sounds like something he'd do.

I don't think it was so bad that you went into a Poly longhouse to keep dry... Plenty of people meander all around the Beach and Yacht Clubs...:confused3

That's where the Ariel is... at the Beach Club Villas... now I can see her...:goodvibes

Nice photos of the fireworks...:thumbsup2

Soooo, are we getting an update any time soon??? popcorn::

Oops............looks like we were............ :rotfl2:

Yup - you got an update. I guess we were pushing buttons at the same time.

Me and My Tumble Monkey.... :lmao:

You are the LAST person who should be asking when someone is doing an update.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah what she said..... But you did get one out so I hope you keep that up. You still have your October 2011 trip to do right???

Great update, Pat.

Love the ducks waddling in for Wishes.

You got some absolutely spectacular photos of Wishes. Great job. :thumbsup2

The ducks were funny. The all waddled right up and were trying to find prime real estate to watch. :lmao:

Hey, leave me alone!!!

I only get this chance about once every couple of months.......... :rolleyes1

:lmao: Yes you do !!!!

Wow !! Those fireworks are amazing and you got some great photos.

Thanks for sharing !!

Susan

The fourth and NYE are amazing. I did get a chance to watch the NYE eve from inside the park and I kept swiveling my head and could not see everything. It was a different experience but honestly I like being on the beach better. :goodvibes

This is why I like to be at the Polynesian on 'special' nights. You can't appreciate that whole spread of fireworks from closer up. Fourth of July is amazing, as is New Year's Eve. ::yes::

I totally agree. you get to see everything and you are not so smooshed. :crowded:

This was the first trip I really took long breaks and didn't kill myself in the parks. Who knows I might actually have a no park day during a trip next.

Those fireworks --- So NOT horrible ;)

I perfer calling it walking around around like I DO belong... :rolleyes1

There were some rumors of bracelets being given out so only hotel guests would have access but I never ran into that. :confused3

I have a book and I brought it with me but never took it out. Some I knew to look for and some I found on my own. I pretty much look for one in every carpet, drape and picture. :lmao:

I would love to stay at GFV when it is done for New years or fourth of July - just so I could walk back to the room.

Lookit you, talking your way past cast members and sneaking into a longhouse. :tiptoe: I'm sure FauntleroyFan07 is proud, it sounds like something he'd do.

:lmao: TRUE. For the record I did bring large beach towels to sit on but with all the rain, I was afraid it would soak through. Teh pool towels were available so I aquired a few. I also made sure they eneded up inthe towel bin and actually picked up some from other people who were not so nice to pick them up.
I was watching lifeguard staff go around and pick them up and well, felt so bad that people were not considerate enough to pick up towels they used so I helped out a bit.

Usually there is no one around but being the fourth of July and rainy, the CM's were out in full force trying to keep some order. Only so many places to hide out of the rain.

Yup Ariel at BCV.

Love those special fireworks especially ont he beach... that is my must do.

Seriously! I think she's been taking notes :)

For someone who has never stayed at the Poly, I have spent enough time there to learn some things.

Go inside for drinks and ask for Clinta or John. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Seriously, it's almost hard to believe you haven't! You really should at least a night once.

Going inside is where Mary Ellen and I TOTALLY blew it. Pool Bar. Not the same. :(

Really lovely fireworks pics. Someday I'll learn how to use my camera on them.

Those fireworks are like 50 times better than the ones I saw from the Poly beach in June. As much as I don't want to visit during a major holiday, I have to admit the watching NY Eve or July 4th from the Poly must be really amazing. I would love to know exactly where they set off all those fireworks. It's quite the display.

Busted for entering a longhouse unauthorized? :lmao: You rebel, you!

Glad the rain stopped!
You got some really nice fireworks pictures! Wow, love the one with the stars! I've never watched from the Poly, I meant to this past trip but never had the time. Oh well! Next time!

Nope Never stayed at at the Poly and closest I might get is the GFV. :lmao:

I do love it there.

I have no idea why I just go inside. :confused3 I may have gone to the pool bar once. Probably my mode of arrival- monorail or walk vs. boat.

It wasn't horrible but I guess I feel I get better service at Tambu Lounge.

Using the manual shutter speed and a bit of luck has helped. I have a long way to go but slowly I am learning.

The special ones are super from the Poly. I did stand in MK once ( last NYEEve) and felt like I missed so much being in the hub.

I know I saw some being dropped off on the island between the Poly and the Contemporary once. A little trailer with tubes. :lmao:

I AM a rebel. The door open automatically so why not enter? :lmao:
I was just looking for a bit of a DRY place to wait out the rain without a lot of extra sensory stimulation. Too wild and noisy in the lobby up or down stairs.

just like sneaking to the top of the contemporary...:thumbsup2

Yup but no locked doors - they just opened automatically for me. :lmao:

Glad the rain stopped!

The stars are a great effect. Stars for the 4th, pumpkins for MNSSHP, and a countdown for NYE. I need to remember what happens at holiday time.

Poly for fireworks is a must do for me. :thumbsup2

Being July 4th I figured I would try my luck at AK only because the other 3 parks had special events going on and I would probably have lower crowds here.

Driving over waiting to be let in at 8:23.

Trying to get a good shot of the sign while I wait.

IMG_5058.jpg

Imagine my surprise when I was directed to park here.

IMG_5059.jpg

Yes folks, on the grass right by the entrance. I literally turned and saw this.

IMG_5060.jpg

Through bag check and in the park by 8:50

IMG_5062.jpg

No more Mickey rope drop show – just a guy….

IMG_5065.jpg

First up FP for EE

IMG_5066.jpg

Then over to walk on safari.

I do believe our driver called this the “wild African Denny”

IMG_5067.jpg

On with our safari

IMG_5070.jpg

The driver made a comment that this was his favorite giraffe…

IMG_5081.jpg

Carol…

A couple more of Carol

IMG_5079.jpg

IMG_5077.jpg

Moving on.

IMG_5094.jpg

IMG_5096.jpg

FINALLY – A GOOD picture of this sign. Not horrible ;)

IMG_5097.jpg

More elephant butt

Flamingo Hidden Mickey Island

Wart hogs

The road we are supposed to take.

IMG_5108.jpg

The unsafe area gate broken – still can’t see the sign but at least you Can see there is a sign.

IMG_5109.jpg

The area that now holds the zebras.

IMG_5112.jpg

IMG_5113.jpg

This might be the Wild African Amy.

IMG_5114.jpg

Safari done so now where to?

When we were there this year for Spring Break, AK had 7 AM EMH and we parked in the grass right there, too. We thought the same thing ..."you want us to park there ??" Yep. right here, sir. It was nice to be so close. We got so much done that day by getting there so early.

O'm pretty sure I just posted a picture of Carol on my TR! How cool that the CMs can tell the difference between the different giraffes.

And score for getting better than front row parking - grass parking! :thumbsup2

It was nice to be close, and that will come in handy later on....

And probably why in Oct. I had to hunt a bit for the car. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: I was looking at your TR and thought - hey that's Carol. :rotfl2:

I have no idea if the driver was serious or not. After his African Denny and African Amy jokes who knows. :confused3

Some nice safari pics, especially the warthogs. I can almost smell them. Sorrrreeeee!!!

And great job on getting some of those elusive "signs" pictures that you can only get if you are prepared and act quickly! :goodvibes

Wild African Denny and Wild African Amy............... :lmao: :rotfl2:

I was thinking when I saw this picture that you had a great place to park if one of those typical summer Disney afternoon rainstorms threatened and you decided to make a quick escape ahead of it. :thumbsup2 Guessing this might be a hint that I could be right........ :confused3
