Our flight home changed to departure of 11:50. They say to be there 2 hours before hand so that would mean be at the airport at 9:50 plus we have to drop of the rental car. Will we have enough time? How soon can you get off the ship? How long does it take to drive from Cape canaveral to the airport? I am stressed now! HELP!

Trip to Port from MCO was 30-40 mins. I dont remember exact times but we had 1st seating for breakfast on departure day from the cruise, we were also in the almost front of the line when they let people off the ship and out to customs and baggage claim. We had a van from the Radission waiting at the lot to bring us back to the Radission where our rental car was waiting for us. After loading the rental car up with family and luggage, stopping at gas station for a few minutes we drove to the VWL in the Magic Kingdom resort area and was checking in at 10:00-10:15am.

If your uncomfortable with your time that was re-assigned ffor your flight - get on the phone and "ask" if there are other flights you could be re-assigned to (throw in the fact that you selected the original flight for this very reason due to the time of the cruise and travel back to the airport) I dont know where you live and what airline your using - they may or may not have any flights to do anything for you. If they do - I would not expect them to charge the "iternary change" fee for the change they made. Always be polite and if you get someone who is not going to help you, say thank you, hang up the phone and redial. They have more than 1 operator and I always get someone who can do what others have claimed could not be done by anyone.

Good luck! and enjoy that Cruise!

We had an 11:20 am flight and were there in more than enough time. We did have 1st seating but were not the first ones off. Just left when we finished eating. I would check your bags at the port if your airline is there, that way if you are running late, you just have to get to the gate. I don't know what time we got there but I would say 9 am at the latest but we were on Disney transportation, but we did have to wait until the bus filled up and we were not on the 1st one. I think you should have plenty of time. They say not to get one before 11:30 but Disney booked ours. They said the latest you can get off the ship is 9am I believe.

Vija,

You should be fine with this flight.

One of the forms DCL has you fill out includes your post-cruise travel details, and they let those with the earliest flights off the ship first first.

personally they say 2 hours but in our last few trip we have had to tell mears we had a later flight so they would not make us be at the airport 2 hours early we have found 1 hour to be fine

I don't think you need to arrive at airport two hours early unless you're international. One hour is plenty. I know SWA is usually a busy terminal but I've found that one hour is plenty to check in, etc. I have the opposite problem. Disney told me if I booked after 12:00 I should be okay but I decided I didn't want to cut it close so I booked a 3:30 p.m. (all they had). From what I've heard on this board you should have enough time but may want to call to see if you can get a little later flight. I have to figure out what I'm going to do for all those hours. Don't want to sit at the airport the whole time.

I have heard people on these boards talk about getting a dayroom at the hyatt in the airport. That way you can rest, swim, store your luggage, eat, etc and not have to lug everything around. They have a special rate for this.

I saw that too and I looked online but the Hyatt is booked for the day I need it. I was going to try another hotel but I'm not sure which one.

In June, I had a 12noon flight. We had late seating but we chose to eat at BBB. Finished breakfast at 7:40am, got off ship (we carried our luggage off, did not sit it out the night before so we didn't have to look for it outside) at 7:50am, checked our bags with USAIR at the ship terminal and boarded DCL bus by 8:15. Got to MCO at 9am.

Our flight leaves at 12:00. In researching these boards, it seems that if you get off the ship right after early breakfast, you shouldn't have a problem at all.

Some people have even taken the DCL bus back and made it with hours to spare before there similar departure times.

You likely have time but it may not be worth the stress and worry. We too had our flights changed. Rather than cut it close we changed our flight times. I also contacted the airline customer service center and gently complained about the inconvenience. By the time I was done we had first class upgrades for 5!
