oh my gosh.. tried book 4 times.. getting we are working on it...

I was just able to get into my dashboard but even trying to modify a reservation gives dwarves immediately just like going directly to book gives me dwarves. Last night I'd get as far in booking as the names entered and then for final confirmation Dwarves.

Think the phone line is back up.. No "Experiencing Issues Statement" and someone on the line appears to be helping me now
 
I'm pretty sure the issue is due to a room category getting overbooked due to walkers and new bookings fighting. It was detected and automatically stopped new bookings until a human can intervein and rectify the overbooking.
There have been rare instances where the system has glitched resulting in specific resorts getting overbooked - the GC debacle being one example. It wouldn’t be tied to walkers per se - just the system letting more folks ‘book’ certain categories than there are villas for them to stay in. When that happens they do shut it down to sort it out. I’m wondering for those who did get booked which resorts/villa sizes did you get? For those still getting dwarves which resorts are you trying for?
That said, on 1/4 when I ran into Olaf trying to log in & then 7 dwarves once in & trying to book, there were tech issues. Today the 11 month window opened for Sat. 12/10 - so I wonder if a lot of folks have kids whose Christmas school vacations start that week & the demand swamped the system.
On 12/29 adding guests resulted in dwarves for me, so I skipped adding guests & just left myself as lead guest which worked.

Copper creek studios if I had to guess. It might even be if you have a CC contract your still getting the issue until its sorted. I might be wrong, since it could be anything with Disney IT.

Said resale contracts will be the last to come back online.
This is what I was told, as well.

Although, I'm a resale contract and I was able to modify one of my reservations twice this morning. But on the phone they still can't modify my other one on their end. Granted... that reservation might be a little more complicated because check-in is tonight!
 
I still haven't gotten in once. For the people who managed to get into the website, how did you do it? Which browser, etc.?
 
I don't think this outage has anything to do with the type of contract you have. I am a direct purchase member, and while I can see my dashboard, I cannot do anything (spinning donut) and am getting the dwarfs when trying to book something.

There's been something going on for the past few days/weeks with outages and performance issues. Booking tool down at times, emails not being sent, etc. It's frustrating to have these issues, but I am guessing that this is either a capacity issue (lots and lots of reservation changes -- I can imagine memory/cache/deadlock issues) or a hardware/service issue.

I for one am super happy that we have the online booking tool, but having everyone and their dog in the system does put extra load on services that probably were not designed with all of the current challenges in mind. (Yes, DVC should invest in improvements. I just don't know if the changes would need to be $ or $$$ -- there is a cost/benefit issue, and we don't have the info to know if these are temporary capacity issues, like shopping on Amazon at Christmas used to be, or there is a redesign needed. It *usually* works pretty well for me, so I am hoping this is temporary.)
 
I have a mix of direct and resale contracts. Dashboard won't load and I just get dwarfs when trying to book for the last hour solid.
 
My experience today:

Firefox = spinning blue circle of death
Chrome = spinning blue circle of death
Edge = spinning blue circle of death

This was whenever I tried to view my dashboard. If I clicked on the link to manage points, I got Dwarves.
 
Me too. Except I'm not using Chrome - I'm using Firefox, Edge, and Safari. Spinning circle of death when trying to view my dashboard, and Dwarfs when trying to book a room. This is very frustrating!
 
Wow this is insane. This happens far too often for a company of this size.
When you are trying to book something 11 or 7 months in advance and you are not able to do it but others are, that's super frustrating.
I wish they would get their IT together. Once in a while problems I understand, but this happens on the regular.
