Oh me, oh my! Are we really going to WDW in.....JULY!?! UPDATES TODAY 07/19 pg 30!!

Oh Jen---:confused3--- now you have me wondering!!! We are staying in a studio at Jambo house but I am concerned about the bus situation and wondered if Kidani would not have been better. I know my Jeremy will probably like the pool at Kidani better so I am planning on walking over there. Too many decisions to make!!!

We don't do a lot of lunch ADR's so I really can't be of much help there. With that said, I have always wanted to try Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch (dinner is amazing) and I have always wanted to eat at the Plaza restaurant. I still have one more ADR to make and am having trouble with that one. That is getting ready to be the next post on my pretrip if I ever get time!

I hope you are enjoying Spring Break. Wish the weather was better!

I have a very picky eater, so only lunch we have done at MK is Plaza. I love it. Great sandwhiches and Ice Cream....Can't go wrong with that combo :thumbsup2

Not sure about Epcot. Never have had lunch there

I went and found my friend on FB who has stayed at AKL before

I am going to copy and paste her post:

We stayed in Kidani last June and loved it! I think both are great but Kidani is a little more new and it's a little more quiet since its considered the DVC portion of the resort. We stayed in a 1 bedroom and I know that at Kidani those have an extra FULL bathroom in them....NICE!! I'm not sure about the pull out in the 2 bedroom unit. We had a king with a full size sofa pull out and a single chair pull out...both in the living room. Have you tried all ears? It may have the amount of beds listed for each type of room.

Hope this helps :goodvibes

I am enjoying Spring Break...Megan has planned so many visits for me to her school that I can't say that I have really had much of a break from school though! ;) It has been so much fun!

I am going to do some digging on this issue....will definitely let you know what I eventually decide.

The only problem is that I think if we stop for a TS in the middle of the day, the boys will want to eat a dinner-sized meal. Thanks for the input!

Definitely helps......oh decisions, decisions!!!!

I can't help out a ton with Jambo or Kidani as we've never stayed there. That being said, we are staying at Kidani and we have a dedicated two bedroom, which means that our spare room will have two queens or two full beds instead for a queen and pull out sofa. The lock off two bedrooms I believe have the sleeper sofa.

As far as having more sit down lunch ADR's I think that could be a good idea. It forces you to take an afternoon break in a way... As far as places I've heard good things about the Plaza in MK, but I really don't know of many other places as we've never really sat down for a table service meal for lunch.

Sorry I couldn't be better help!

PS. 90 days tomorrow!!

Kristen

Not sure about the bedroom issue, Jen. However, I do know that we loved our stay at Jambo, and the counter service is just downstairs. :goodvibes

Thanks for the help ladies!!! :goodvibes I STILL don't know which I want to do! I am sure I can't go wrong with either, but it seems for every suggestion/reason I read to stay at Kidani, I see one right afterward for Jambo! I seriously CAN'T make up my mind!!! UGH!!!! Thanks for the help...will keep you posted!

Well, if you guessed 100 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY...............................you are RIGHT!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

We have been so excited to finally hit that milestone, that we have been talking about it all weekend! I wish our celebration could have fallen on a better day of the week---Tuesdays are just so difficult to do too much fun stuff---but we are going to make the best of it!

I will start the morning off by waking Megs with some Disney themed music playing throughout the house. Breakfast will be served ONLY in Mickey Ear plates brought home from our various trips over the years. I want to do something "Disneyfied" for her snack for school tomorrow, but haven't received "divine inspiration" yet on that one. Then tomorrow afternoon and evening will be COMPLETELY Disney themed---from the food, to the music, etc., etc.! I don't want to give too many of the details away yet, but will share all after tomorrow's big day! SO excited!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

As I mentioned above, we have still not made a definitive decision on which section to request at AKL. I have asked numerous people, have looked through every AKL thread, posted my own questions about it on a variety of parts of the DIS, but still just as confused. I definitely get equal response to this question, so there is no major front-runner emerging....yet. Stay tuned for the answer to this big question!

Tom and Megan went to the annual Father-Daughter Dance at her school this past weekend, and they had a blast as always! I will put in some of those photos as well when I put in the details/photos of tomorrow's festivities!!! :thumbsup2

Until then....see you real soon!

Hello there my dear!
I'll throw in my two cents....
We have not stayed at Jambo but loved our Kidani stay. Talk about spacious!
We had a 2br with 3 bathrooms! It slept 9 plus a baby! 3 Balconies that overlooked the Savannah!!! :cloud9:
Everything was so nice and new as well. We really liked it but I wouldn't want to stay there again unless we had a car. It was a very long walk to our villa.
Granted, there was no counter service, but we had a full kitchen for snacking.

As for lunch ADRs. We like Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern, HBD (for the salad), 50's PT, Rose & Crown, and Chefs. All great lunches!:goodvibes

Happy 100 Days Until Disney!!! Your trip is creeping closer and closer, and I am convinced it will be here before you know it!

Looking forward to the pics from Megan and Tom's father/daughter dance. I just know they will be as adorable as always! :goodvibes

Lots of Disney fun going on for you right now! :dance3:

I don't know if I could make it through a day without my Disney music. I had DIS Radio or Magical Mouse Radio playing almost all the time. I don't turn on the TV very much, so Disney music is my background noise when I am doing my household chores or doing schoolwork. :)

Wouldn't it be awesome to have three balconies looking out on the savannah?!?!? :cool1:

Happy 100 days!!! :cool1::cool1: Your celebratory plans for today sound awesome. I can't wait to see pictures. I just love hearing about the creative ways DISers get their dose of Disney at home. I may need to insert a little Disney in my life this weekend.

Afraid I can't really offer any perspective on AKL other than to say it's probably one of those situations where you can't go wrong. You're going to have so much fun!!

WOOT WOOT!! Congrats on 100 days!!!! That is great!! Time is going to FLY right on by!!!!

I have no idea about AKL because I've never stayed there!! However I'm sure there is NO wrong decision to be made!! Wherever you end up I'm sure will be absolutely delightful!!

Looking forward to seeing those pics!! I loved the ones from last year's Father/Daughter dance!!!

Thanks my dear!!! I hear the rooms are SO gorgeous, but I am worried too that they will be a mile away from the bus stop!!! Megs' legs won't hold up for that!

Disney music is definitely my "happy" music! :goodvibes She goes to sleep each night to one of her many Disney DVDs. I chose the old Mickey Mouse Clubhouse opening song to wake her this morning...it was a good choice! More on that later!

Those balconies sound wonderful, but since we are only in a standard view....I think we will have a long view of parking lots!!!! :lmao:

Hey sweetie!!! I have missed you! I was just thinking about you the other day---so glad to "hear" from you! More later on today's festivities!!!! I think we all need to insert a little Disney into our days more often!!!

congrats on 100 days! And good luck with your decision!

Thanks sweetie!!! I need someone to make the decision for me!!! Do you want to do it?!?!?!?!

:banana:Congrats on 100 days! Can't wait to hear how you celebrated it!

Thanks sweetie!!! I will post more about the celebration later!

WOOT WOOT indeed!!!! :woohoo:

I feel like we probably can't go wrong, but I just SO don't want to make a bad decision that we are going to ultimately regret....especially when it impacts our friends too!

The pictures from the Father/Daughter dance are sweet again!!!

coming out of lurkdom to say
happy hundred days!!!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks hon!!! WILL do! :thumbsup2

:wizard:

Me too!!! Thanks so much! Will reply soon with all the details!

HAPPY 100 DAYS!!!!!! As far as Disney snacks, if Megan likes cheese, Walmart sells Mickey shaped cheese chunks in the cheese section. I wish my DD liked cheese, because we would be eating that before our trip. Walmart used to sell Mickey Mouse dried fruit too, but I haven't seen it in a while.
