...and they have two little girls so now we hear those shrill little girlie screams...:scared1: At least the good news is that it will be getting cold soon..

That's all...just a minor vent since before I could sit here and have some quiet, and of course the noise is right across from here...blah.

What I want to know is how you can have quiet with 10 birds in your house! I have one cockatiel and sometimes he drives me crazy with his tweeting and singing.

Funny!:lmao: I have an African Grey and he recites every noise known to man including all the car, house alarms.

I thought the trampoline post was going to be a now my kids will want to use it vent.:rotfl:

Kids having fun doesn't bother me but I have boys.:rotfl2: When my sister was little she had one of the worst girl shrills ever. We constantly had to tell her to tone it down.

So true about the bird noise! I, too, have one 'tiel and she goes on and on and on. She used to whistle so nicely, but then she picked up bad habits from the dogs barking.

I'd much rather hear happy shrieks from the little one next door.

i have a parrot and my lil lady talks like a human! when she hears my cell phone ring she says "hello" and like since most of my phone conversations are in spanish she say " como estas" and then she starts babbleing lol
she sings she fight she says a whole bunch of things:rotfl2:
she looks like this

I used to live where gun shots at any time day or night were the norm, so I am thrilled now that my dd and her friends scream, except I do tell them at a certain time to zip the screaming.

Kids having a good time doesn't bother me.

ETA- We had a Sun Conure, Kiki. Her shreiking - now that was ear splitting noise but we loved her!!!

Ha! The birds aren't too bad except when they do their early morning wake-up call on the weekend. They get real noisy at sunrise and sunset. (We currently have 2 'tiels and 8 budgies)

We also have 4 cats, with 2 of them being Siamese so there is always some type of noise going on.

We also hear gunshots as there is a farm nearby and the owners shoot at the coyotes to keep away from the cows.

I don't mind kids having fun, but these people tend to put everything in their side yard instead of the back and it points right at our front. It was always nice to come up here for some quiet so guess I'll do it now when the kids are at school. ;)

My neighbors had one for about 3 years. Initially they had it located in their backyard on the side closest to our house. The screaming was annoying at times, but they were pretty good once it was later at night. Then one day they decided to place it on the other side of their backyard (closer to the neighbors on the other side of their house) and we could barely hear the noise. The other neighbor complained to them about the screaming kids; they tried to keep it to a minimum. Finally all of the kids out grew the trampoline and it was shipped off to one of their friends on the other side of town. :woohoo:

If your neighbors are anything like mine, you only have about 2 1/2 years to go. Count yourself lucky that you at least have a cold season. I live in California and even during the cold season the kids were out and jumping on that thing.

Good Luck

I'll trade you the screaming kids for my next door neighbor's incessantly barking collie. Every morning at 6, every evening at dinner. That dog barks for a minimum of a half- hour before they'll respond. My husband has taken to banging a garbage can lid (his version of coins in a can) when he's outside grilling or trying to read the paper.

That sounds like my neighbor (and me lately). She has three dogs and one loves to constantly bark. Right now, our neighbors are none to happy with us. We took in a chihuahua, rescue, and at first she didn't do anything. Now she barks at everyone, everything. This morning at 6:30am, she thought it was cool to chase a jogger down the road... then a few minutes later thought it was a great idea to tick off a bull mastiff, pug and sheltie. Yeah, I really need to find her a home.

OP my sister in law bought one for her kids, I don't think she kept it 3 years. The novelty wore off long before that. Neighbors across the street just bought one at the beginning of summer, I never hear them but then their daughter isn't a squealer. Good luck, buy earplugs and think it could be worse... you could live next to me and my neighbor with 5 dogs barking constantly. :scared1: (Our dog, beagle mix, only seems to want to bark at labs and anyone who rings the doorbell.)

A few homes away from us has a tramp. The kids jump on it all the time, but it doesn't bother us because its so far away. Only problem is when DH is outside they yell over to him "Hay fat Mike." Ok, hes a little chuby, but his name ain't mike!!!!! :confused3 :lmao:

One of our neighbors raises chickens and a rooster!! We named him Petey. When we first moved in he was all we heard, and it was super annoying. Almost 6 yrs in, we don't even notice him anymore.

Give it a few weeks, the initial "this is awesome" will wear off and the shrieks will cease. Then comes the "mommy, my arm is broken" screams. :lmao:

might not need a few weeks for the my arm is broken scream. We were at a coworkers family get together 3 weeks ago. They had a brand new trampoline less than 2 weeks old. Yep, my dd9 was getting off of it and got her arm caught on the safety netting. The mommy I broke my arm sound is not a pretty sound. Basically my dd ended up needing surgery to have rods put into both of the broken bones in her forearm but she did get a cool sky blue cast to start the school year and after surgery she now has a stars/stripes arm accessory.

we lived in a neighborhood with a few of these and i thought it was going to start a trend (like those freestanding basketball hoops). not an issue-once the first neighbor kid got injured and the homeowners realized that their homeowner's insurance not only would'nt cover it (the parents of the injured kids had health insurance like mine-to pay out for an injury on someone else's property you have to allow them to pursue their homeowner's insurance) but they were going to get their rates jacked up (trampolines are considered an 'attractive nuisance') not only did noone else buy one but our local free-cycle website got several new postings of 'free new model trampoline-you pick up':scared1::rotfl:

btw-i'll take kids squeeling during normal hours anytime over the stupid mocking birds we used to have in our yard. things figured out how to mock the sound of people's car alarms and would go off all hours of the night. then one figured out if it mocked the meow of one neighbor's cat it could set off the other neighbor's dog in barking fits (seemed to like to do this when it got bored around 4 every morning).

I sympathise, our neighbours have a trampoline, it is located right up next to the fence between our garden and theirs. The screams I don't mind too much, what gets on my nerves are when the girls jump, look ove into our garden and feel the need to comment loudly on everything they can see (my cats and rabbits are usually out so we usually get half an hour of the kids yelling cat and bunny at the top of their voice.) Also when they have friends over, the parents are inside and the foul language they seem to use as they are bouncing. If I am sitting quietly in my back garden I don't want to hear a group of 8 year olds yelling swear words.

I'd take the noisy kids over what we've been dealing with this summer. Bob the Builder in back of us. He has a shed/workshop set up..and we hear sawing or banging ALL THE TIME! It never stops. It's not as if he's doing a repair to his home...and at some point it will be done. Nope..he's running some type of business out of there. Making and selling word items. We actually had to call the police on Labor Day..as we wanted to have just one day this summer without hearing the NON STOP grinding of the saw. :rolleyes1
I think he's a fireman..where his shift alters..and he has some three and four days in a row off.
Then we had new neighbors move into the house next to us..which is VERY close on that side. Only separated by the driveway. One morning at 7:30 am I heard this loud banging on the driveway :headache:...when I looked out my upstairs bedroom window I saw the husband trying to open a COCONUT by banging it on the the belgium block edgeof the driveway. :confused3

What's the matter with people?...I mean has his man never heard of shredded coconut?. Who does stuff like this at 7:30 in the morning?...:sad2:

Needlesss to say..the constant banging and sawing from Bob the Builder has put my dog over the edge. I kid you not....I think the poor thing needs medication. He doesn't know what to make of it. I don't let him bark..and take him in as soon as Bob starts..because he will bark non stop if I left him out there..only, I wouldn't do that to my neighbors. I should go and put him Bob's backyard and hope he bites him in the butt!
