Oh, A Drunk Little Cucumber!! - F&W Fun with Bro and Sis Nov. 11*UPDATE 6/17* Pg.32

Hey! It's me! I decided that I needed more TR's to read (and keep the Disney excitement going) and what better place to go than to another one of yours!? I just have to say, I love the way you write, it gets me so excited (even for the airport! :rotfl2: ) I just finished the first 2 updates and wanted to pop in & comment before I forget all my comments & read everything!

Thanks! I'm glad that you're here. And I'm glad that you like the way that I write.

1.) HOW SAD that the pirate rooms have crappy matresses... :sad2: I REALLY wanted to stay in one! (what can I say, I love everything pirate) maybe I'll save it for a day when I have kids that want to stay there? :confused3

The rooms weren't that bad. People are kind of all over regarding the beds. Some think they're fine and others think they're bad. I didn't have a huge issue with them, so I was all good.

2.) I want that butterfinger cupcake. But I'm such a red velvet fan, it would feel weird to get something else! I should really branch out & try something new at starring rolls....(or maybe I'll go with someone else & they get 1 and I get the other & we split...)

It's really good but it's pretty sweet. On the other hand, I really want to try the red velvet one!

3.) This is totally backwards, but hey, that's ok...I've never had a dunkin donut! :scared1: I know right, are they good? (that's kind of a dumb question...) And is the coffee actually good too?!

I'm excited to continue reading!!

Dunkin Donuts is amazing! See, I've never had Tim Horton's, so we can consider ourselves even. LOL. You definitely have to try them. They are my favorite donuts and my favorite coffee. I got so excited recently, because they started selling the k-cups for the Keurig.

Ok, so instead of my replying after every single chapter & filling up your TR with my nonsense, I’m actually going to type this up in word now, and add on after each one before posting it :rotfl:
Chapter 3: I know what you mean about the iphone 4!! I had my camera stolen between Disney trips, and the one I got to replace it was supposed to be the “next generation up” and it sucks…so hard…so this most recent trip, I had my phone with me (and a data plan so I could tweet!!) and I took quite a few pics with it, and I found it was better than my camera for most of them. The zoom was awesome, I have the option of hdr’ing photos, so fantastic! (does it work well for rides too?!)

It's great for rides! I was totally thrilled with the quality of the photos that it took on dark rides and such. You'll see more photos throughout the TR to see what I mean.

-I’m assuming you ate at CHH? That salmon looks good. I keep debating about CHH, as I’m not a huge fish person, but that dish does look tasty!

It was CHH. I realized that I forgot to post where I ate. That salmon is super good. I recommend it.

-I’ve been on JC once in WDW and seriously, had the most lack luster skipper ever, just an “oh no, a hippo, better shoot it, bang bang, good, its gone” in the most monotone voice ever!

That's exactly what that skipper was like! Just completely lackluster. Ugh.

Chapter 4: That omelet looks delicious!

5: GAAH! Fotlk, clearly the greatest thing AK has to offer, such an amazing show. I so much want to be that bird girl (and hopefully will be in a year! Agkjsdnj!!) That is all…

6: Such a quiet pool!! I’ve never seen an un-crowded pool at Disney (ok, that’s a lie, but a completely empty pool, that’s unheard of! Haha) Ok, can we just talk about how that first towel animal looks a little crazy with the one red eye?! Guh!! YAYAYAY HP!!! SO EXCIIIITTTEEEDDD

The omelet was super tasty! I really liked their food court.

It is an amazing show for sure. I always wanted to be that bird girl, but that would be a disastuh.

7:Uhm, of course you can’t say no to Hogwarts…that could & should clearly just be illegal (I think we’ve discovered my 2 nerdy things…hp…and Disney… *le sigh*) Yum! Mickey waffle!! So delic!!

Ah! That castle is just amazing (and has such a different feel than the Cinderella castle, but so amazing!) Holy, can we just talk about how amazing the Forbidden Journey is? One of my top favorite rides, that’s for sure. One of my biggest Orlando regrets is that I only went on it once! Oh well, just another excuse to go back!! When we went to WWOHP, it was my first Orlando trip, and I hadn’t been to a theme park in AGES, so all I did was FJ, heck even over at Disney all I really did was Splash! My point being: I didn’t do either of the coasters, that’s right, not even the Hippogriff. If I go back, my goal is to do both! How was the Dragon challenge (aside from shoe losing?) could you compare it to anything at Disney?

Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now!! (I apologize for my randomness, I’ve had a rather huge cup of coffee today!) I’m excited to read more!!

Haha, if those are your two nerdy things, I don't even want to start listing what mine are. We could go on for days and days.

FJ is really a great ride. It's unlike anything that I've ever experienced before. Every time I've gone, I have tried to ride it twice, because I know Universal won't be a regular thing for me going forward. I haven't done the Flight of the Hippogriff, because there are other attractions I'd rather do.

Okay this part about Dragon Challenge will be lengthy. There is nothing at Disney like it. It's a basic inverted (feet dangling) coaster. Nothing too spectacular about it. This leads to me and roller coasters (in case you wanted to know). I worked at Six Flags Great America for six years. So I've had my fill of roller coasters. This is why I love Disney so much, because it's not just rides, you know? Because once you've been on most of the iterations of roller coasters (inverted, floorless, speed, height, blah blah), they start to all feel like the same. Okay, rant over.

Well now I know I need to wear sneakers to Universal, so thanks! I can't wait to go to Harry Potter-land, though it doesn't look like your brother was feeling the butter beer.

Wearing sneakers or shoes that stay on your feet are definitely the best option, but only if you want to ride Dragon Challenge. Everything else is a little easier.

LOL, he was feeling the butter beer, he's just a goober.

In case anyone was wondering, Chris really liked his butterbeer. Don't let his gooberfied picture fool you. He's just a dork.

After we had our butterbeers, we started to head slowly toward our next destination, which was Marvel Superhero Island. I took some pictures on the way.

Really, when you look at this picture, it's kind of gross. :crazy2:

Riley would really like this ride I think.

We stopped in a few of the shops to get an idea of what Chris was going to buy for Riley (in case new readers are curious, Riley is my niece and Chris' 6 year old daughter). She had mentioned wanting some Cat in the Hat stuff to him before he had left, so we were getting an idea of what there was and making all of the purchases at the end of the day.

If I ran a zoo......well, it would probably be chaos. And Disney themed....

We made it to our destination.

I have such mixed emotions about Marvel Superhero Island. I like the bright colors, but it just seems like there could be more. You know?

This was our final destination.

Chris really likes this attraction as do I. According to Universal reports, they are revamping and redoing the movie, so I'll definitely be interested in seeing what that's like when it's done. Oh darn! That means I'm going to have to go back to Universal. Well shooo....:rolleyes1

We walked through Toon Lagoon.

I never do anything here, because they only have the two water rides. I wish they had something else! I'm not a huge water ride person. I love the theming and such, but I really don't love getting soaked unless it's really hot outside.

Random side note. I love the fact that Brenda Starr is at the top of the Comic Strip Cafe. I used to LOVE reading that strip. Totally random when I was pretty young. I used to cut the strips out daily and make my own book of them. So I could get the whole story. DORK!

We headed into Jurassic Park. Every time I see that gate, I think of the music that plays when they arrive there in the movie.

My what big teeth you have!

We decided to go here, because the folks didn't look like they were getting too wet when they got off the ride. Plus, neither Chris nor I had been on it since we were last there together in 2007. Wait.....scratch that. Chris was on it in 2007, but it had been even longer for me.

So the kid in the seat in front of us was terrified about the ride. He was in full on panic mode and his dad was just laughing at him telling him it would be fine. Not to laugh at a scared kid, but I could see where the dad was coming from. You could tell a good majority of this kid's drama was just him being a drama queen about it.

I don't know how everyone else feels about this, but I feel that this ride is totally lame, and now I remember why I hadn't been on it in so many years. It's just......meh.....lame.....fake.....boring....you pick a word and apply it to the ride. It also could be because I'm biased and I love my Dinosaur at AK. Nothing else is quite good enough.

After visiting with the LAME dinosaurs, we went back through Superhero Island. Our final destination? (not THAT final destination.....I hope).

We both like that ride. For me, it's a coaster. Nothing too overexciting, but remember that I used to work at a Six Flags for six years, so coasters have to be AMAHZING to thrill me anymore. Cedar Point has some of the best in case anyone is wondering.

At this point we were finished at Islands until later in the day, when we wanted to come back to ride the Forbidden Journey again. So, we headed out to Citywalk for some lunch.

Up Next: Lunch and Universal Studios!

I love Cedar Point! Which is totally off topic, but had to be said. I am the only coaster lover in my family so US has never been a spot of us. But your report makes me urn.

Hey, off topic is totally fine! I love Cedar Point too. I love Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force. Definitely my favorites. US has a few good coasters, but for me nothing that's like "amazing, I've never experienced something like that before!"

Okay I totally meant yearn, but apparently spellcheck wants me to feel like something that holds remains.

Great IOA pictures. I actually think that first picture is pretty cool! :rotfl:

I love the Hulk and Spiderman, even though I haven't been to IOA for ever. I really need to get back there and you pictures are making me want to go SOON!

I love that picture too! When I was typing the update, I just had a random thought that when you really look at it, it's like he's really not feeling well.

You should definitely go back soon. I get the same way. I think I'm okay without going and then I look at pictures and have a strong desire to return. However, I went three times in this last year, so I think I'm good for a while.

WWoHP looks so cool! I love that you got valet parking with the annual pass, too. I've never been to Universal Studios, but it has always looked like that walk from the parking lot to the park is really, really long.

I love that they give free valet with it too. It's only with the Premier Pass, but when I got it, it was worth the price difference when I took into consideration the amount of times I was going and would be parking. The walk is very far, especially at the end of the day. When you first arrive, it's not bad because you're all fresh and ready. But at the end of the day, it's just kinda brutal and feels never ending.

I also love Cedar Point and have been spoiled by their amazing offerings of coasters!:cool1:

Right?! Once you've been there and been on what they have to offer, everything just seems so lame in comparison. People always ask me why I like Disney so much. I explain to them that it's because they offer me something different than just run of the mill roller coasters. I get an overall, immersive experience, which is much more important to me. :thumbsup2

Well I know who we're inviting if we ever get to a Six Flags! Jasmine loves coasters and frankly since I've gotten older:rolleyes1I just can't do them like I used too!

Great update and great pictures! I'm with you on the water rides...not my idea of fun walking around soaked to the skin:confused3

I have such mixed emotions about Marvel Superhero Island. I like the bright colors, but it just seems like there could be more. You know?

Yup, I really do know. And totally agree.

I do water rides when it's scorching hot out, but I also dislike walking around wet any other time.
I always feel Jurassic Park is a little lame too, particularly because it comes from such an epic movie!
I was too scared to try the Hulk. Definitely not wimping out next time though! DH told me it's not so bad.

Haha. I would be completely up to it! Friends of mine from Six Flags (and me), loved coasters and we used to actually go to different theme parks around the country to experience the different coasters that they had to offer. I didn't make it to tons of them, but I think I've been to plenty. Oddly enough, I love the feeling of nervousness and stomach dropping. I always try to recreate that. :lmao:

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that was about water rides! It's just uncomfortable.

At least someone else understands about Marvel Superhero Island. I love comic books too! So much potential....

Jurassic Park is an epic movie. Man, I remember the first time that I saw it, I was like....."wow".

The Hulk isn't that bad of a ride. Really, once you get past the launch sequence, it's pretty mild. But remember, coaster freak here, so mild to me could be completely crazy and insane to someone else. But if it makes you feel better, my mom has been on it and doesn't think it's that bad (for a point of reference from someone who doesn't LOVE coasters).

The theming at Universal does seem kind of...half-there. Except for Harry Potter world, that's really well-done! That statue is kind of gross with the water pouring out of his mouth !

My other bro Jason hit the nail on the head when we were there in February. He said that it's like Universal picked up the attractions, tossed them in the air, and just let them fall where they may. I kind of agree with that assessment.

WWoHP is really well done. I really hope that they keep the same attention to detail for the section that's going to be placed at the Universal Side.

I kind of wish we had explored more over at IOA when we went, but we did HP & Jurassic Park. You say it's not as bad as dinosaur? All of Universal rides to me just seem to be just rides/coasters (this is coming from me not having gone on any of them) and stuff I wouldn't like, but I'm going back to WWOHP in Nov, and plan on going on more of them then!
