Oh, A Drunk Little Cucumber!! - F&W Fun with Bro and Sis Nov. 11*UPDATE 6/17* Pg.32

Minions! I never expected to like Despicable Me as much as I did; the same thing happened with MegaMind. They were just too cute! And I love the amount of detail and attention paid to all the minions. They actually all are different and there's some funny things happening in the big shots with lots of minions.

I'm sorry you didn't have any good food at Universal either; I wasn't impressed with any of the offerings. Even Citywalk seemed really tiny! I thought it was going to be more like Downtown Disney and it was really just like, Burger King? And a couple other things? They could've reduced the amount of space in the parking garage and spread it out a bit! :lmao:

I thought a lot of the Universal/IoA rides weren't very good at accommodating the riders (either because of size or they have stuff with them).

Poor Superhero Island. :sad1: How can a theme park themed with superheroes be so crummy? Superheroes are so exciting and full of really awesome adventures! I am glad that Spider-man at least gets a ride, since he's my favorite Marvel hero.

Haha, I wish Disney would bring a Twister-y ride to Disney just because of the weather aspect. I mean, it's not often that there's a major Hollywood picture centered around meteorology, so we take what we can get (and then ruthlessly make fun of it ALL THE TIME. Seriously, at every meteo event, people will suggest watching Twister just to complain about it!)

Okay, why can't the Egyptian guy go be a prince at Disney?? Disney is kind of lacking in the studly-princes-for-meet-'n'-greets aspect! :rotfl:

I hate the fact that the rides at Universal don't accommodate riders very well. My biggest irritation there is the fact that you can't bring anything on the ride. In January, the park was so crazy crowded that it felt like getting a locker to put your crap in took longer than actually waiting in line. It was ridiculous.

I love the studly Egyptian guys that they tend to have at Universal. I mean, seriously. How could you not. And you're right, Disney needs some stud muffin. I was always partial to John Smith. :rolleyes1

Sounds like a great day at IOA/US :goodvibes

Lol you sure are right about Burger King! I had a McDonalds yesterday and felt the same :lmao:

Day 4 - Tuesday November 8, 2011

We left our intrepid travelers having just ridden the Mummy.

After that, we wandered a little further on to....

I lost. :( For those who don't know, this ride is kind of like Buzz Lightyear, in that you have to shoot at targets. And for those who have read my prior TRs and know me, you all know that I'm competitive. Very.....very.....very competitive. I hate losing. And I lost. I would like to say that I had a wonky weapon, and that I went temporarily blind, and that I passed out during the ride from all of the flashing lights.......

After this it was off to....

Chris had never been on this ride, and he liked it very much. I love that it's so snarky and that they didn't tone down the Simpson's to make it family friendly. Because, honestly, it wouldn't be the Simpson's then, now would it?

We headed out to our last ride of the day and lo and behold...

You just cannot escape the mouse. Mickey is omnipresent, he is always around, he's watching......alway's watching......

This is at the Kwik-E Mart

I said ew...Chris said "don't knock it until you try it. It's actually really good".

:crazy2: I'm not entirely sure.

Then it was off to our final ride on the Studios side. It's a good thing that chocolate covered bacon isn't sold, because Chris probably would have bought some, and our upcoming ride likely would not have gone too well.

I told Chris the story about Jason (the other bro) and this ride. That when we started going up the lift, Jason kept on saying "oh crap, oh crap, OH CRAP!!" Chris said that Jason is a pansy and that he'd be fine. Oooookkkkkaaaaayyy. :rolleyes1

Want to guess what happened? You guessed it. We start going up the lift and a chorus of "oh crap, oh crap, OH CRAP!!!" begin to come out of Chris' mouth.

Who's the pansy now?! :cool2:

He did like it though. He just said that it felt like he was going to tip out of his seat. Haha. I warned him!

It was back over to IOA after this, to check out one more ride on the Forbidden Journey.

The wait time was only up to 30 minutes at this point, which in my opinion still wasn't bad. I would say that we waited about that long. As always, the ride was good and Chris kept on talking about how unique it was and that there really wasn't anything out there like it. I could definitely agree with that.

After that, we ended the day on the Seuss Trolley in the Sky.

And then did some shopping. We got a small Cat in the Hat and a Thing 1 and Thing 2 for Riley. She would definitely be happy with those.

On the way out, we made a pit stop at Burger King to pick up a wi-fi signal so that Chris could Facetime with Riley and Sara. WDW had not rolled out wi-fi at all hotels yet, and sadly we were staying at one that was not in the test group. We chatted with them for a little while and then proceeded to head out for the day.

I was glad to be leaving at this point, because my lovely crocs? The one's I showed you a picture of? They gave me blisters I didn't even know about! And like, mutant sized ones too! Not normal. But they didn't hurt. How does that even work?

We picked up the car from valet and then drove to DTD for our dinner destination. Our choice? Cooke's of Dublin!

I got....

Mini-irish sausages and chips. Please note that everything you could possibly eat at this location is deep fried.

Chris got fish and chips. We wanted the fried candy bar for dessert, but it's not an option on the dining plan. So, we got cookies and then purchased a fried candy bar to eat.

I was hesitant about the fried candy bar, truly. I just wasn't sure. Many people have said before that they're good, but I was unsure.

Oh.......mah......gawd.......

There are not words to describe the tastiness that this brought. So yummy. So so yummy. Like, you would think it would be wrong, but it's so wrong that it's right. Can't describe it any other way, truly. If you ever want to give it a try, just do it. Do it. Do it. You won't regret it.

After this, it was back to the resort for us to turn in for the day. We had a Magic Kingdom to visit in the morning.

Up next: That's a mighty huge cinnamon roll

I'm not so sure about the fried candy bar, because you are right - it sounds really wrong, like deep- fried cookies that they have at the state fair. I guess you can deep fry anything. :rotfl: Well, almost anything.

Now what is that coaster called (the Oh crap one) and which part of it is actually the lift hill? That thing looks a little too thrill ride for me! :rotfl:

Great day at Universal!

I think a lot of people think that you can just deep fry anything. In this case though, amazingly enough, it works. But it's so bad!

The 'oh crap' coaster is Rip Ride Rockit. It's pretty intense, but honestly the worst part is the lift. The ride itself isn't as crazy as you would think. At least, not to me.

How could you be hesitant about a deep-fried candy bar? It has the right formula for greatness!

I've never been on the Simpson's ride, but that's nice that it isn't kiddie-fied!

Yay! Updates!! Looks like you guys had fun at Universal. I definitely know about the chocolate & bacon thing, we usually have fondue at Christmas breakfast, and it only took a matter of minutes before my cousin was dipping bacon in it....I can't say I tried it....but I wouldn't imagine it being completely horrible?! Dinner looks delicious! And a deep fried candy bar! Something I have yet to try, but am interested in (I've done deep fried oreos...and taco in a bag...oh stampede food...)
I'm excited to hear about the cinnamon bun!! (I WILL have one my next trip!!)

I know that now! But for some reason, I just couldn't get past it in my head. But generally I do love anything that's deep fried.

The idea of the chocolate bacon weirds me out, but I do love mixing salty and sweet, so somewhere in my head I know it's probably really good. I think I just can't get past the calorie content.

You have to get a cinnamon bun on your next trip! They're so yummy and giant!

You need to send Chris to the Iowa State Fair... They sell chocolate covered bacon on a stick... Very popular with the fair-goers... And everyone that tries it says it's amazing... Something about the salty/smoky bacon and sweet chocolate... For the record, I've never tried it...

Haha, I may have to send him that direction. I am pretty sure they have it at the Wisconsin State Fair too, which would be closer to us. I mean, they'd have to have it, right? It is Wisconsin....:rolleyes1

I'm pretty sure they would have it... You can get just about anything fried on a stick... This year's new thing was fried butter... It was a stick of butter dipped in batter, then deep fried... Yep, my arteries are clogging up just typing it...

OMG! I think my arteries just clogged reading that. And it sounds disgusting!

I'm pretty sure you can get that chocolate bacon on a stick at the MN State Fair too!

Anyway, just got caught up. Very interesting to hear about Universal and WWOHP. Someday we'll check that out.

Every time I see Simpsons stuff I really want them to put in a Futurama area somewhere. It would be so fun! And I would have actually seen the show and know all the in-jokes and funny parts!

I still love the Trolley in the Sky. It's so relaxing and I love the Sneetches. Also the fact that there's never a wait.

Haha, I'm sure chocolate bacon on a stick is a state fair staple for sure.

You'll definitely have to check out Universal and WWoHP if you ever get the chance.

So funny, I've never watched Futurama....I know plenty about the Simpsons though.

I love the Trolley in the Sky too. Just fun to ride around. Kind of like a quasi-Peoplemover.
