Oga's Cantina Drink Reviews

Do you necessarily need an ADR or can you do walk up and wait?
I have a ressie for WDW, but, not for DL.
You need a reservation but I believe they have said they have limited walk ups (I believe I read that for DLR). If it were me I would get an ADR if I wanted to go at all

I went on Friday (8/30) so this is delayed but hopefully helpful! I tried both the Jedi Mind Trick and the Fuzzy Tuantuan. The foam on the Fuzzy is definitely an experience and it might not be for everyone. I'm glad I tried it once but I definitely won't be doing it again. (FWIW, the girl next to me did order the Fuzzy with the foam on the side so that might be an option for people.) I enjoyed the Jedi Mind Trick and would probably purchase it again.

I ordered both drinks at the same time even though we were standing at the bar. (The servers are SUPER busy in there and it's much easier to order all in one go.) Right before I paid, I asked if I could get a beer to go and the server said yes. He said he can do a third drink to go as long as it's beer or wine.

Not sure if that rule will stand the test of time, but that was my experience last week.

Awesome, good to know! I'll take a wine for the road!

Are all of these drinks strong? I can't stand the burning sensation of a strong drink and don't want to waste money on something I won't like. I know strong is a matter of opinion- for reference, I use the standard 1oz tequilia, 4oz daiquiri/margarita mix, 1 c. ice recipe for margaritas and that is as strong as I like to go.

the standard recipe for a margarita is 2:1:1 tequila, triple sec, lime juice. Not sure what standard you are referring to.

The directions on my strawberry or peach daiquiri/margarita mix :) I don’t drink plain margaritas.

Thank you! Thanks for the info on the assignment part too...i thought we were allowed in at our time and we just had to look for a seat or spot to stand.

From what I've read its definitely you are put into either a booth, a standing table, the bar or around the edge of the room where there is a table ledge thingy. Then a server comes around with the menu.

This is what I'm thinking too!

Oga’s is awesome!!! But soo overpriced.

Mom had the fuzzy tautaun. I tried it. I’ve ready reports that it’s very weak and you can barely taste the alcohol. We thought it was quite strong. It didn’t burn going down but the alcohol taste was stronger than the oj. My mom is not a light head like me and even she said it was strong. The two strangers at our table who also had it thought it was strong too.

I had the Oga’s Obsession. I am not a big jello person but this sounded interesting. It was very good and I loved the boba balls in every bite, but it was too much for me to finish. Maybe if I’d had some crackers to eat too I could’ve finished it.

Has anyone had the Fuzzy Tauntaun and the Outer Rim and/or the T-16 Skyhopper? Are the Outer Rim and Skyhopper stronger than the Fuzzy? The Fuzzy Tauntaun was pushing it for me so I don’t want to do a one time splurge on one of the others if it’s even stronger...

You're probably much better off with an ADR but we had one for Sep 3 at 3 pm and we weren't sure that we'd be able to make it (as it turns out HS closed at 3 pm that day due to Dorian) so we went there on Sep 1 (Sunday) to see if it was possible to do a walk up. In the afternoon, the lines were really long and I think those were for people with ADRs so be prepared to wait even with one. At 8 pm we asked about walk ins and were told that they were only taking people in line who had ADRs but to check closer to park closing time (10 pm). We went back about 9:15 and were allowed in line and got in almost immediately. Although the park closed at 10, we stayed until 10:30 and there were still people there when we left - they weren't allowing any more people in as of 10. We were taken in and assigned to one of the stand up tables - you can actually see a lot more of the bar when you're standing. The booths are inset into the wall so you can only see what's immediately in front of you so while being at the tables is not easy on the feet, it's a better experience IMO. I had two Jedi Mind Tricks which I quite liked. DH had the Fuzzy Tauntaun which he thought was kind of cool but he was still too numb to order any second drink. I scooped up a bit of his foam and, yes, it does numb after a second or two. Personally, if we go back, I'll avoid it or use a straw. I'd like to try to teal wine at some point and maybe see if I can get the drink that comes in the Porg cup but without the cup (and a reduced price!).

It was our friends who wanted to go to Oga's Cantina - I wasn't planning to since I didn't feel like standing in line to go to a bar where I get kicked out after 45 minutes and may have to stand but I have to say I enjoyed it. I'm not particularly a Star Wars fan but you really get more of an immersive feel being in the bar than you even get out in GE itself or at least I did. It was fun to watch and listen to the DJ - sometimes the bartenders and staff sing and chant to one of the songs and get the whole bar involved - and they do this little thing every now and then where the generator or something supposedly goes out and they use a hammer to get it going again. It's really quite fun.

Yes—we were there 9/1 and were led to the table ledge with another party. They even told us which side of the ledge our party was to stand at...

I had the Outer Rim recently. I thought it was excellent and the foam was good. I think the black salt is just normal salt with food coloring though. I got some on my hand and it left a black stain that wiped off. I know it’s a matter of opinion and tolerance, but I found the drink to be quite strong. Nearly too strong to drink at first; it burned a bit and I hate that. Once the ice had melted a bit it was fine. It’s certaintly not worth $20 though, no drink is, so buying alcohol there will be a once or twice a year special thing for us. The rest of the times we go throughout the year (we’re locals) will be sharing a roll or one of us getting a non-alcohol drink.

We visited twice on our recent trip. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the alcoholic beverages. The first time we were taken to a middle standing area, which three of us shared with two other couples. It was sociable and good fun. We tried six different drinks (most of the cocktail menu), enjoyed all of them and had a great CM. The second time we were taken to the bar and given a space between a lady who took up rather a lot of space and her young daughter who was sitting glumly on the floor and a very friendly middle aged gent. It took a while to squeeze into our space but when we did it was fine. I found the first drink I ordered too sweet, the bartender noticed that I was not drinking it and let me taste another drink, before pouring it for me.
On each occasion we stayed more than 45 minutes and ordered our two drinks each separately. There was no rush. It is as much fun as Trader Sams.

We wanted somethings that had other-worldly atmosphere, so I got the Bespin Fizz, which sort of "smoked" and got 6 year old grandson the non alcoholic Carbon Freeze, which bubbled, smoked, and had the popping pearls in it. It had everyone turning around and asking "What is that he got!" They were very refreshing and not overly sweet. Since it was about 95 degrees that night, they were perfect.

We went to Oga's three times during our two week trip. It was one of my favourite things about our trip and I'm only a casual Star Wars fan at best. The CMs made this such a fun experience, the drinking song was so much fun and got everyone involved. We stood at the bar twice and sat at a booth, we actually preferred standing as it felt more part of the action.

I tried the following:

Yub Nub - really wanted the souvenir glass but liked the drink. Flavours were strong to me in this one and it was quite sweet if people don't like that but I really liked it. For some reason though this was the only one I struggled to finish.

Bespin Fizz - loved the cloud swirl on this and the drink was nice.

Carbon Freeze - this was ok, popping pearls were a cool effect but I didnt love the flavours.

Jedi Mind Trick - nice flavour and cool colour but not as much fun as some of the others.

Fuzzy Tauntaun- my favourite. The foam had almost my full mouth numb and tingling which was very weird but not unpleasant. I did ask for a straw so I could taste the drink on its own. Very sweet and I could definitely taste the alcohol but I loved this one.

DH had the Blue Bantha which he knew he'd enjoy since he's a fan of the blue milk outside. Also had the Cliff Dweller which he described as refreshing, Gold Squadron Lager and Gamorrean Ale. He preferred the Gold Squadron and felt the Ale was heavier and more fruit-flavoured.

Last note - the music was awesome.

So just back from my trip and I tried over two trips the following:
  1. Fuzzy Tauntaun - was really refreshing and the foam is very odd :D
  2. Cliff Dweller - just for the photo op really but actually a nice drink
  3. Toniray Wine - awful! Worse drink I ordered
  4. Bespin Fizz - very sweet but fun and definitely worth it for something different
  5. Oga's Obsession - really tasty jelly!
And yes for those that you can count, the CM was nice enough to let me have 3 on my second trip so I could try the Obsession which as I pointed out to him can't really be classed as a drink can it but it is!
