If your friend can't find a way to swing it before the check comes in there is always charity spots. Otherwise she is probably out of luck. Now at 98 percent looks like its going to sell out within the next hour, two at most.

Yeah, we've accepted it. She's really ok with not running; she's going to still try and register for the 5k and we'll plan on doing PHM 2015 together again. The charity spot is a good idea though; I'll have her look into that.

I'm not the only one taken aback by how fast it's sold out, right? I mean, I wasn't expecting it to be open for months or something, but I thought there might be a cushion of a few days. Granted, this is only my second rundisney race, so maybe it's always like this and I just got lucky with PHM 2014.

I have no idea about the sweeping at princess that's one of the reasons I posted that in case others know something that I didn't. I did just peruse the FB page and saw them say 24,000 princess runners but I thought I had heard more than that initially so I guess there were probably some did not starts too. Tink half finishers was smaller than I expected too, but I never heard actual numbers before the race results, so I figured that was just my expectations.

Wine in dine is a fantastic race- I think that's probably the main reason it's filling up. Word has gotten out! Darn it!

I heard through the grapevine that more than 2000 got swept at princess, which makes sense. I crossed the line with maybe 23 minutes between me and the balloon ladies (WAY slower than I trained for because of the humidity and bottle necking on the course) and there were over 7000 people still behind me. Those aren't official numbers, but I'd think they were a good estimate.

I am definitely surprised by it. This is my third runDisney event, my second half. I did the W&D in 2012...registered the day it opened in March, it didn't sell out until the end of July. I know it sold out more quickly last year, but it wasn't within a couple of days.

I agree. I did W&d in 2012 and registered on my birthday that year as a present, June 12. Last year I registered in march but I know it didn't sell out in 2 days like this year.

I registered for last year's race on April 30. I don't remember how full it was but I know it wasn't super close to selling out or anything.

Looking at the race results for the Princess, some folks finished way over the 16 mile pace, so they must not have been overly crazy about sweeping.

There were 20,750 total finishers.
I was hoping there would be a DNF column, but no such luck.

Question, what's the difference between clock time and net time?

Clock time is the time you cross the finish time since the clock start running. The clock starts as soon as the first person from the first corral crosses the start line. Your net/chip time is the time it took you to finish the race from when YOU crossed the start line.
So unless you're that first person, your chip/net time is going to be different from your clock time.

I decided to bite the bullet and run it again. I think it's a good bargain, when you throw in the party ticket and the $10 GC.

Clock time would be when the race first starts--when the A corral people start.

If someone is in a further back corral, they won't start until later--maybe even half hour or more later--so their time is adjusted for a "net time" (the actual time they were on the course.

For example, I was in Corral D--my "clock time" was approx. 2:08 and my "net time" was approx. 2:01--because my net time didn't start until I actually crossed the start line.

Out of curiosity, did estimated finishing time before needing a proof of time change last year, or just this year? Because when I did it in 2012, you needed proof of time for any estimated finish times under 2:45 (I entered in 3:00). When I registered last night, proof of time was required for any estimated finishes under 3:15.

Got my wife and I registered when it was at 92% this morning. Very surprised it was selling this quickly.

Makes sense. Some ppl were averaging 20 minute miles, so there had to be a cushion somewhere.

That makes sense to me - I was SLOW through PHM and at mile 12ish could see thousands behind me, still.

I'm having a hard time with the "good bargain" part...it was $155 in 2012 for the exact same thing. I know it went up last year and again this year. Unless they start capping the price of it, I don't know when I will run it again after this year.

It's easy to see why Disney loves their races.
They're big money - even if it isn't all profit for the company.

I totally understand. When I see $200 for the Avengers and nothing else with it, like a party ticket, that's what I was thinking about. Have a great time!!

that makes sense...I figured it probably had to do with assigning people more accurately. It isn't a big deal to me since my one and only recorded time was about 3:30 and this will be DH's first recorded time. I was just curious why the half hour jump.
